Story
* RUGER IS NOT AT UPAWS *Ruger is an 8 year old German Shepherd. He is the best adventure buddy, and lives for the outdoors, hiking, running, the lake, and snow especially. His favorites are sticks and tug a war, could happily play fetch all day. Ruger loves people, any chance to hangout with you on the couch, or outside he is there. He rides well in the car, not reactive to loud noises/storms. Good with younger children, teens, young adults. Has not been around cats before. He is good with dogs as long as they have been introduced properly. After a good exercise, he is a relaxed guy who just wants to be near you!If interested please contact Chloe at 734-790-8380 or chloeselkhoury@gmail.com!

Story
Brazil came from a very difficult situation, but she’s showing everyone just how resilient and sweet she truly is.When she first meets new people, Brazil can be a little cautious. She approaches gently, taking her time to feel safe. With patience and kindness, she begins to relax, staying close and quietly soaking in reassurance from the people around her.Brazil has a soft, thoughtful nature and does best with calm, gentle interaction. As she grows more comfortable, her confidence builds and her sweet puppy personality starts to shine through. She’s learning every day that the world can be a kind place.Brazil is interested in other dogs and does best with slow, respectful introductions. We ask that all dogs in the home come along for a fun meet-and-greet, and that the entire human household joins as well, to help make sure it’s a great match for everyone.Brazil is ready for a fresh start and a home filled with patience, love, and hope.

Story
Buffalo has come a long way or the past year. I can`t even imagine what his life was like before he was rescued. He was found tied up outside not being fed. His first few days at UPAWS his bowel movements were sand. He has put on about 30lbs. He lived with two dogs while with me. They have passed. We have been together 1 year. He is food driven , but not food aggressive. I use treats as a training tool meeting dogs. He has been perfect in the house. Buffalo is a INDOOR dog. He does not counter surf or dig in the trash or yard.. He does not get on the furniture or beds. He knows sit and lie down. He has free roam of house. I have never had to try a kennel. He is extremely affectionate towards people and seeks affection. He walks well on a leash. He is reactive to some dogs when meeting. He does eventually warm up to some. Its something we are working on. Buffalo has a good recall off lead. Needs to be on lead when other dogs are around. Once he knows a dog he does well. This is a difficult decision. I love Buffalo, he is my best friend. I have serious health issues and need to find him a loving home that will spoil him and give him a loving home he so much deserves ? Buffalo has a vet appointment on 12/29/25 for his yearly check up/vacancies.**** Buffalo is not at Upaws*****If you are interested in Buffalo please contact:MarkPhone number: 906-440-2726Email: treadomt@gmail.com

Story
When Bermuda first meets new people, she doesn’t rush in. She may crouch just a little, avoid direct eye contact, and wag her tail softly and low — not because she isn’t friendly, but because she’s carefully reading the room. She’s quietly asking, “Are you kind?”And once she has her answer, she melts. With gentle hands and a calm presence, Bermuda leans right in. She climbs into laps, sniffs faces like she’s offering a shy little kiss, and eventually rolls onto her back in full trust, her tail wagging just at the tip. When she realizes she’s safe, she shakes it off and her tail starts wagging bigger, freer, and happier. That’s Bermuda in a nutshell: a sensitive girl at first, with a deeply affectionate heart once she feels secure.Playtime brings out her puppy side — bouncy, curious, and joyful — with a wagging tail that never really stops, even if her body stays a little low while she’s figuring things out. She loves gentle interaction and shows her excitement in sweet, earnest ways.Around other dogs, Bermuda is interested but cautious. She prefers slow introductions and feels most comfortable when she can approach on her own terms. She offers sweet play bows and watches carefully, especially when she has a trusted human nearby. She would likely do best with a gentle, respectful dog who understands her soft approach to the world.Bermuda at a glance:•?? Dogs: Bring to meet•?? Kids: Respectful children•?? Cats: UnknownBermuda isn’t a dog who will barrel into your life. She’s a dog who will gently walk in, curl up beside you, and slowly — but completely — give you her heart. And once she does… it’s something really special.

Story
Mocha is a big, beautiful Cane Corso with a heart just as oversized. She’s all wiggles and smiles when she’s with her trusted people—playful, sweet, and absolutely full of love. However, she can be a bit nervous, especially around new situations or unfamiliar faces. Whether it’s a game of tug, fetch, or chase, Mocha is always up for fun. And when the play’s done? She’s all about the snuggles and quiet time right by your side.Mocha lives for car rides and walks—any chance to explore the world with her human is her kind of adventure. As a typical Cane Corso, Mocha can be a bit reserved with strangers. She does best with slow, respectful introductions and would thrive in a calm home without a lot of foot traffic. Once she knows you, she’s all in—loyal, goofy, and full of affection.Mocha wants to be your one and only—she’s not a fan of other dogs and will need to be the only pet in the home. She’d do best in a home with older kids who can understand and respect her space. She’s ready to bring her big personality and even bigger heart to the right home—maybe it’s yours.
