Story
Walker has now been in rescue for months without a single application. We don’t fully understand why, because he is a loving, intelligent, playful boy who has worked hard to overcome a difficult start to life. He came to us as a scared shut down puppy who had already experienced more than he should have, and with time, patience, and love, he has grown into the sweet boy we know today. Earlier this year, Walker completed a board and train program through Riverside Canine. His first home wasn’t the right fit, and he was returned to us. Since then, the incredible team at Riverside Canine has stepped in to foster him, and he has been making steady progress in their care. He is smart, affectionate, and would thrive in an active home. He will need a home with no cats, but with slow and careful introductions, he may do well with another dog. Walker’s adoption has been generously sponsored, and his future family will also receive three private lessons through Riverside Canine to help support his transition. He is ready for his forever home and deserves a family who sees just how special he is.

Story
This girl is full of personality and so much love. She just wants to be with her people and will happily follow you from room to room, soaking up all the attention she can get. She loves playtime, snuggles, and going on adventures, and her big, goofy personality makes every day a little brighter. She absolutely loves her tiny humans, though her excitement can be a lot, and she’s still learning her manners. She would do best with older children who can keep up with her energy and enthusiasm. Slow and proper introductions with other dogs is a must as she can be dog selective with more dominant dogs. Mariah’s adoption fee has been partially sponsored for the right home and she is ready to start this next chapter with the family that has been waiting just for her.

Story
Iris has been with us for over a year now. She came to us extremely malnourished while caring for her puppies scared and alone after being found abandoned in a home with no heat, food, or water in Flint Michigan during winter. Over time, she has grown into such a gentle and affectionate girl who loves cuddles, attention, and simply being near her people. She would do best as the only dog in her home so she can feel fully comfortable and confident. Her puppies are all in wonderful homes and now it is her turn to find the family who will see her for who she truly is and give her the love she has been waiting for. ✨ Iris’s adoption has been generously sponsored for the right home.

Azul

Great Dane

Male, 1 yr 11 mos
Alanson, MI
Size
(when grown) X-Large 101 lbs (46 kg) or more
Details
Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Azul is a large, strong, high energy boy who is still learning boundaries, manners, and appropriate ways to channel his excitement. He would do best as the only pet in a home that can provide structure, consistency, and supervision. Azul was previously attacked by another dog and has been reactive since the incident. A home with a more flexible or open schedule would be ideal for him, as extended time alone can be difficult for him right now. He will need continued work on impulse control and appropriate outlets for his energy. He does not do well with kennel confinement and will require alternative containment and decompression methods as he continues building comfort and confidence as well. His neuter is pending at this time.
