Story
Hi, I'm Mister! I am a big tomcat who was a stray south of Portland. I arrived injured on the doorstep of a nice person. They nursed my shoulder wound back to health and got me neutered. However it turns out I am positive for FIV so I couldn't live with their other cats. FIV is not a big problem for me; it mostly just means I can't live with other cats who are FIV negative. I'm very nice and like to snuggle up with a person in bed at night. I love to play! I like to sit in your lap while you watch tv. I do sometimes give little love bites so I might not be the best fit for small children.I am prone to get some diarrhea on certain foods so currently I'm on a precription food which has cleared up my digestion issues.I'm in a foster home so if you would like to meet me please fill out an adoption application first at www.animalaidpdx.org to set up a meeting. My estimated birthdate is 3/1/2020.

Story
Hi, I'm Allegra! I'm a quiet and sweet petite cat. I'm gentle and love people once I feel safe.I'm a drooler when happy. I had some ear infections but those are cleared up now. I am trying a hypoallergenic food in case my ear infections were caused by a food allergy.I was in a foster home at a shelter in Pendleton for a long time and didn't get any attention there so I came to Portland. I'm a bit scared of other cats and I would be afraid of dogs and kids.I would make a great companion for a quiet adult home. I'm 100% a magnet cat. I'm a major lap sitter/bedtime cuddler. If you sit down for more than 1 minute with a blanket I am guranteed to sit with you no matter the circumstances/way you are sitting, and I love nothing more than to sleep next you at night. I'm an EXPERT biscuit maker.I love to play with you! But I will also keep myself busy if necessary, especially with the right toys.I will let you sleep in and I'm not particularly noisy about food at a specific time.I love to window watch for hours.I am not mischievous or a wild climber. I am shy at first with house guests but become comfortable very easily. I'll sit with your house guests too by the end of their visit!I'm in a foster home so if you would like to meet me please fill out an adoption application at www.animalaidpdx.orgMy estimated birthdate is 11/16/2017.

Meow! I'm the very charming and cuddly Tabitha! I'm a special girl who has diabetes that is currently being controlled by a pill once a day.I just adore people and I am pretty much always ready to get on a lap. I like to play a bit and I might be ok with other cats. I've lived with other cats before and supposedly liked them. I am declawed.Currently they are trying this new diabetic pill for me so I don't have to get insulin shots. After some more tests over the next month, I might only need blood tests every 6 months or a year if I'm stable on this pill. My estimated birthdate is 10/1/2012.

Story
My name is Marion and I'm a special kitty looking for a special foster or adopted home. I'm a very gentle cat but I'm also very scared lately. I've had a string of bad luck. My favorite person passed away unexpectedly. Then a few weeks later my other person also passed away. It was traumatizing for me, especially with emergency services coming into the home and my people not coming back. I had a good friend in a chihuhua but we were split up because the family of my people were allergic to cats. So my life turned completely upside down and I was fed in the empty home for a while before coming to Animal Aid. I was discovered to be in Stage 3 kidney disease and I was very thin. I'm eating ok and I get 3x/a week subQ fluids to help with my kidneys. I was very shut down and terrified for a few weeks. I would loose control of my bladder when people tried to pet me. Thankfully I've learned to trust people again and I am starting to enjoy petting. Despite still giving an initial hiss I will headbump your hand for pets and I've strated to purr and make biscuits. I won't come out of my hiding spots yet but I allow people to pick me up to sit in their lap for my fluids. Throughout all my fear I have never tried to bite or scratch. I have a true heart of gold and I'm looking for a place to be safe in my golden years. I could use a foster or adopted home who is willing to continue my fluid therapy and be patient with me.It's unknown how I feel about other cats or other dogs. I would be too scared for a home with children. My estimated birthdate is 9/1/2011.

Story
Hi, I'm Bonita! I'm a pretty calico who came from the county shelter with not much backstory. I'm a super sweetheart! I'm friendly and quiet.I am mostly deaf so will greet you with an enthusiastic meow when I wake up from a nap or see you. I love a warm place to nap, preferably on a hot pad this chilly time of year. When not napping, I like to be a part of the action and will follow you around or sit in the middle of whatever you're trying to work on. I'm a little playful and like to play with a mouse that rattles and toys with catnip. I also liked looking out the window.I have a preference for junky dry foods and clay litter. I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism so I'm getting some ointment rubbed into my ears twice a day.I have been chronically congested and it appears I have a mass in my nasal cavity. Sadly it was discovered that the tumor in my nasal cavity can not be operated on so I am a hospice cat. It's unclear how long I have but I'm currently comfortable and enjoying getting love from everyone. My estimated birthdate is 9/1/2011.

Story
Um, hi. I'm June. I'm a friendly but shy kitty. I was surrendered due to financial difficulties by my past person. I really like petting a lot but it takes me a while to trust people. I like calm quiet places and I will hide until I'm sure I'm safe. I tolerate hanging out with cats. I love to play and I love people once I trust you. I had a dental with a few teeth removed and the vet said I have a tooth that needs looking at again in a dental at some point in 2024. My estimated birthdate is 9/24/2021

Story
Rehoming my senior(11) cat, he is unhappy being in a home with young kids and now we have another baby on the way he would probably be happy and healthier in a slower and less chaotic home. He would need to be in a home with no kids and no dogs, ideally no cats. He is very aggressive towards dogs. He is slightly overweight and this is something we have been working on with him. He is mostly indoors but does like to lay out in the sun in our back yard, does not leave our yard though. Not overly affectionate but does occasionally rub against legs and ask for pets. Would be happy in a calm home with someone looking for an older kitty companion. No medical issues as far as we know. He will come with a cat tree and his food!

Story
With my heart broken I need to find a home for my cats they’ve been with me since baby’s now 3 and 4 years old, unfortunately I’ve been moving around too much and places that don’t allow pets so this have been difficult for everyone alI I want for them is to be safe and comfortable that’s all I want :( The male ( orange) is very shy since he was born during Covid pandemic and does not know anything from the outside, I haven’t got him neutered but trained for litter box, The female (gray tabby) is very energetic and super friendly she’s actually the mom so they have to go as a pair I really wouldn’t like them to be separated :( she is now spay, no special diet for the both of them they love chicken wet food mixed in their dry food as a treat.

Story
This special kitty has been through a lot, before we figured out what he needed.  Kepler, a once very fearful cat who hid under the bed a lot, has now blossomed into a sweet, happy, playful, and loving cat who likes hanging with other low key cats and his trusted hooman.  He has the sweetest tiny kitten-esque meow ever! He loves pets and being talked to often and likes keeping you company. While he may need some time to acclimate to his new cat savvy hooman and get comfortable in his new environment, he will eventually want to sleep on the bed and sit next to you on the couch.  Kepler will do well in a child free home and appreciates the pitter patter of other easy going, mellow kitties.   Kepler is good with laid-back older dogs too.  Entertainment is essential for "Bubu" especially to break the ice.  His favorite toys are feathers and conquering the red light.  Of course, scratching posts where you sit and a cat tree in front of a picture window are necessary as well!  A Catio would be the icing on the cake! Kepler was fixed as a juvenile and at the time was tested for FelV and FIV and negative for both. His vaccines were updated in May 2023: FVRCP (prevents Distemper, Herpes, and URIs) and got a 3-year Rabies. He has had dewormer and is treated monthly for fleas. His medical records will accompany him and we will delivered to your home. We are asking for an adoption fee of $140. This cat is offered for adoption due to the owner's personal circumstances. For more information on meeting and adopting this kitty, please fill out a pre-adoption application under "ADOPT" on our website at WWW.CATSCRADLERESCUE.COM. Sev is 8 months old and very sweet. He loves to snuggle and carry his toys around. We have an older cat who we thought needed a friend, but after several months together she has not warmed up to him. He deserves a safe and loving home with other animals that will want to play like he does! He is fully potty trained, up to date on all vaccines, and was just been neutered.

Story
I fell in love with these two sweethearts when I met them at Pets On Broadway in January. Mom (Little Rogue) is just under a year and a half, and baby boy (Pudge) is 4 months. They are bonded, keep each other busy with play, and do all the cute things together like cuddling and grooming. They are really cool cats: curious, chill, handle-able, playful, sweet, affectionate. I het a kick out of em, they can really run laps with the laser pointer. I love these 2 fuzzy lovebugs, but I have only had indoor/outdoor cats before and having them confined to my small apartment feels insufficient. I think they need a bigger home. They are very social and would like to he in family home with multiple people to love and bond with. I have wrestled with this conclusion for the last couple weeks, but I am committed to doing what's best for them. They love me but I know they would love more space.
