Raven is my name and kind of like a raven, I am a 'loner'... except for the puppies i had when I arrived at the rescue... I was saved by a trapper on the streets, they weren't even there to save ME that day, but they did!!! I am obviously a beautiful girl, big and solid as well as black and brindly. I am a loving girl, in my own way... i lived on the streets for who knows how long and I honestly am not a cuddly girl or even a sit by your feet dog, YET... I have all kinds of love to give, you can see in my eyes that I have always dreamed of someone with the patience to love me for who I am and who I can be!! I am great on a leash and do love walking around and exploring. I am good with other dogs and likely would do best with another dog who is calm and confident with his/her family. I am so so ready for you, I have the shepherd double coat so I will shed in your house, must have a great vacuum cleaner and tolerance of hair :) Local adoption fee is $300(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Zola is one such tale. She was found under a daycare, having given birth to a litter of puppies. Always stunning in looks as a black mouth cut/Dutch shepherd mix (our best guess), she was shut down, shy, wary of raised voices & reaching hands, but never, ever mean. In her foster mom’s home, she has gradually come out of her shell. She now loves being hugged on, petted, brushed. She oh, so gently takes treats. She is great with other dogs, but her favorites to cuddle with are similar to her in size. She is very gentle with children, and extremely emotionally intuitive. She takes “night patrol” duties seriously, having assigned herself the task of ensuring property safety before she settles indoors to sleep. Zola is ready & so deserves a loving furever home of her own. She will make an excellent addition to a family or as a solo dog. She was found in the middle of nowhere, in the bones, and with too much fear, she tried to bite us until she could understand that we were not going to hurt her, we just wanted to help her, and she got on her belly, letting me know that she trusted me. She is a really sweet, intelligent, loving dog, she has too much love to give, and she needs to receive even more. She is a very loyal dog, and tends to dance with her front paws when she gets excited. She gets excited when she goes for a walk, she likes to see new places and sometimes she is a little shy at first with strangers but she understands quickly when people don't want to hurt her. On the contrary when she knows that people are a threat to her or to you, she is very protective. She gets along well with very few male dogs, she is dominant and does not usually play with other dogs, but she gets along very well with adults and children, she would be ideal for a family with small children, she knows how to measure her strength, and she is not at all rude with babies. Meet Montana! Hi! My name is Montana, and I am approximately four years old and weigh 56 pounds. My people think I may be a Dutch Shepherd mix, but that’s just their best guess. I am a sweet, easygoing girl who is on the calmer side. I don’t require an excessive amount of exercise and would be perfectly happy taking a daily stroll and then settling in with you to watch some doggy flicks on the boob tube. That being said, if you’re looking for a dog to join you on longer walks and adventures, I’m up for that too! I’m pretty flexible as long as I get to be with my people. I am super sweet and warm up quickly to everyone I meet. I really haven’t met a stranger! I also get along well with other dogs and would happily share my forever home with a furry brother or sister. I have never been cat tested, though, so my people are going to say no furry felines for me. My life hasn’t always been easy. I came into rescue after having a litter of puppies while trying to survive life on the streets. Thankfully, someone stepped up and helped us. I did my job as a mama and kept my babies safe until we were rescued. Now that my puppies no longer need me, I think it’s finally my turn to have someone take care of me. I am house trained and crate trained, and I walk well on a leash. I’m also not one of those dogs who feels the need to bark at every little thing. Another fun fact about me: I love the water! Maybe there are some beach days, lake trips, or other water adventures in my future. I can already picture myself enjoying the sunshine and splashing around with my new family. At the end of the day, I’m simply looking for a family of my own. I’ve already spent plenty of time taking care of others. Now I’m ready for a soft bed, lots of love, some fun adventures, and people who will take care of me for a change. I am spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Sheeba is my name and I am quite the celebrity around here :) Let me tell you all about it... have a seat and grab some tea. I was living on the streets with a gang of friends... found by a rescuer we were being fed but there was no room to put all of us. Of course, I was pregnant and after I gave birth the rescuers were afraid with all the storms that my babies wouldn't survive out there. So the pound was called, and let me tell you....I WOULD HAVE PROTECTED MY PUPS WITH MY LIFE........ of course, that is deemed "aggressive"and after my two day stray hold I was going to be euthanized and my puppies sent to rescues to bottle feed and raise up :( But MY rescue said, UH UH... She comes with the pups.... and they MADE IT HAPPEN! Now, it wasn't easy but I settled in to the routine and learned my caregiver's names and soon enough I was eating out of their hands. And they learned some neat but sad things about me.... I belonged to someone who trained me....... it is sad because no one has any idea where that person is nor why I was living on the streets :( Also, I am a very smart girl so I am also very sensitive to change....but, with my pups grown and adopted, I am now a model citizen at the rescue. Look at my video....I had JUST met the trainer that day and she absolutely fell head over heels for me. Now I am ready for you, I will complete your family. I am still working on my other dog skills and would probably be best where I can be the only dog and give you all my love. I am a gorgeous girl, my coat resembles a Belgian Shepherd's and I have GSD face and mannerisms. So if you want to adopt me, you must love and understand the working breeds. We need an outlet for our drive and you have to provide that to give me a great balanced life. I am ready, I hope you are too!!
