Story
Alaska is a little girl who came running to the shelter to hide, we assume she was scared after being run over. At first glance we saw that she had a fracture in her hind leg, her first visit to the vet was to prepare her for an amputation, since her leg was beyond repair. After her recovery, she began to prepare to find her new home, currently she already has her vaccinations up to date, she is spayed and ready. She is a very pampered dog, like a big girl, waiting for love, affection and lots of cuddles, she likes to go for walks, eager to see new places, always happy, following you everywhere. She is very curious, elated to see you, and such an adorable, smart little girl. The fact that she is missing her leg does not stop her, she runs, plays and can even jump, she has adapted quite well to her new life. She is still a puppy, she will barely be a year old, she will not grow any more, she is medium, around 28 pounds. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Story
HI - I'M FRANCO! I'm an 11-month-old mini-corgi-Frenchie-shepherd mix in need of a loving foster or forever home. I have short little legs and am super cute! I weigh only 30-35 pounds and am a perfect size. I was rescued from a shelter in the middle of the California desert, where I was impounded as a stray. At the shelter, I was kenneled with multiple dogs and did well. I'm a bit shy at first and could be scared with change, but I'm coming out of my shell in my current location. Can you foster or adopt me? Please email for an application

Story
Animal Profile:  Biscuit was found wandering as a stray in So. Cal without a collar or microchip. He completed stray hold with one of our rescue partners, and made his way to Seattle on 1/26/25.   Biscuit hadn’t been well cared for, and needed to be neutered and have his cherry eye repaired. Unfortunately during his exam with our vet, it was discovered that he had a Grade 5 heart murmur. Due to the severity of the grade, we opted to skip surgery and Biscuit will be medically exempt from being neutered.    Meeting him, you’d never know he had a bum ticker. He’s playful, exuberant, and full of personality as Frenchies often are! Biscuit will need adopters committed to ongoing care, which may include medical management for his condition.  Foster Update: Biscuit is a joyful, affectionate young pup with a heart as big as his goofy grin! After a short adjustment period, he’s settled beautifully into his foster home—and he's been winning hearts ever since. Biscuit gets along wonderfully with other dogs and absolutely lives to meet new people. His tail never stops wagging! This lovable goofball has a sweet, easygoing temperament and brings fun and laughter wherever he goes. He’s crate-trained, house-trained, and very food motivated (hello, easy training!). He enjoys playtime with toys, loves chewing on bones, and is great at entertaining himself—he's a pro at finding the joy in simple things. Biscuit is still working on his leash manners—he just gets so excited to greet everyone he passes! With a bit of continued guidance, he’ll be strolling like a champ in no time. Confident, curious, and adaptable, Biscuit would thrive in just about any home environment. Ready to add some extra sweetness (and silliness!) to your life? Biscuit is ready to be your loyal companion and best buddy! Medical Notes: Biscuit has a heart murmur so we were unable to do his neuter and cherry eye repair. We recommend his adopter have Biscuit evaluated with a cardiologist.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue. Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Biscuit was a stray found in Hemet CA and arriving to DGS via our transport Wiggle Butts on 1/26/25. He will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care. June 28, 2025, 8:24 pm

Story
Meet Lovelie – your gentle, devoted shadow. True to her name, Lovelie is an incredibly affectionate pup who thrives on human connection. She’ll choose petting over treats every time and wants nothing more than to be close to her person, quietly following you from room to room. Once she warms up (she’s a little shy at first), she becomes your biggest cuddler, gently nudging in for love and curling up beside you for hours. Lovelie is as low-maintenance as they come indoors—happy to nap most of the day, content with a soft blanket and your nearby presence. Outside, she’s curious and polite, eager for potty breaks and the chance to greet friendly strangers with a sniff or a gentle lick of their shoe. She adores other dogs on walks but prefers her own space indoors and may not tolerate other dogs crossing her boundaries in the home. She’s potty trained, sleeps soundly in the bedroom, and communicates clearly when she needs to go out. She’s not a picky eater either—chicken, carrots, sweet potatoes, and spinach are all favorites (just hold the apples, please). And yes—she loves the mirror. Give her a moment to admire herself and tell her she’s beautiful—she’ll appreciate it. Lovelie would do best in a home where she’s the only dog, or with calm, respectful dogs who understand personal space. She’s sensitive, loyal, and endlessly loving—and will make a devoted best friend to someone who values quiet companionship and deep connection. ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.

Story
Meet Valfette – your new partner in crime (and cuddles)! Valfette is a hilarious, mischievous little pup who will keep you laughing every single day. She’s got that perfect mix of sweet and sassy—playful, clever, and just a bit naughty in the most endearing way. Whether she’s sneaking off with a sock, chewing a toy to bits, or zooming around the room like she’s on a mission, life with Valfette is never boring. Despite her cheeky streak, Valfette has a gentle mouth and a soft heart. She plays well with other dogs and has the goofy charm of a puppy still learning the ropes. She's the type who will tear up a tissue with glee and then curl up sweetly next to you like nothing happened. If you're ready to laugh more, snuggle often, and maybe pick up a few chewed-up surprises along the way, Valfette is your girl. She’s spirited, spunky, and full of love—just waiting for her forever home. ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Story
Meet Blue. He’s a fun and well cared for a little guy. These little bully breeds bring a LOT of personality. We are looking for a loving home for him to be a part of. We have had him for almost 6 years. He is not friendly with other dogs. He would be an amazing ONLY fur baby. We are a very busy household and it has gotten to be a challenge for us to available for him. We are sad to see him go but excited for him to meet his next family!
