Story
Nova is a 35lb adult (5yr-ish) French bulldog mix. She is incredibly sweet and affectionate and would love to find a forever home. She is still working on her housetraining (great with #1, still working on #2). She walks perfectly on a leash and adores snuggles and couch naps. She loves to show her excitement by wagging her whole body! She came into the rescue with a number of health issues - like most Frenchies - and needs an adopter who understands the financial committments of owning this wonderful, but expensive breed. She had a corneal ulcer (being treated with eye medication), a UTI (treated), unaltered (we fixed her), and with heartworms (she's on the slow kill treatment). Despite all of that, her spirit is amazing - full of love and happiness!! Nova is located in Houston TX and will only be transported upon completed adoption. Her adoption fee is $400. Inquiries will not be responded to unless a completed application has been sent. You can fill out an application at www.recycleddogsrescue.org. You must fill out all of the blanks in the application - put "n/a" if one question is not applicable to you.

Story
Wednesday (aka Whinny) Purrs when you pet her or rub her belly. If you have been gone forever (10 minutes) she runs to you with abandon and hits a right slide just short of your feet, so she is in position for the Belly Rub, on contact. Shes unable to get on the furniture, and it is best to keep her off the couch and bed as a fall or even a jump could hurt her. She will sleep nicely in her own bed next to yours. She is happiest when you are touching her and she will snort. purr and snore to beat the band. She loves her person. Even though she has No separation anxieties and only barks when appropriate, she would rather look at her Forever Mom all the time. She is a great road dog. Loves to go on drives and walks at the beach or in the woods. Probably not the pup to help train for a marathon. She is not the dog that will insist on having your attention. If you pay her no mind, she will play alone. But she does like to cuddle on the floor. If you sit with her near you and say, "Hug Hug" and pat your chest she will jump in your lap and give you the belly with her head on you heart. She is afraid of the vacuum and mens shoes/feet. Men or women can pet her, and rub her belly and give treats, but she will react to men feet once they walk by her and she has most of her teeth. . Its very strange, but a real fear for her. She is fine with being in her kennel when there are (boy) visitors. I try not to think about what someone did you her in her young life. Wednesday would thrive in an all-girl home. . She is excellent at chasing away the deadly Bunny Rabbits, squirrels, but loves to watch the bees and butterflies. She is such and innocent gentle girl with sooo much love to give. She gets along with any dog who will let her sniff their butts. She absolutely loves her human. I feel quite safe walking her. She can sit, stay, get in the house, stay in the house, thats not your food. Once you meet her you will fall in love.

Story
Hi, my name is Lana.Im a sweet Frenchie who was dumped at the shelter with a broken femoral head the ball part of my hip joint an injury most often caused by serious trauma.Thankfully, the shelter reached out to Church of Pug, and they came for me. Because of them, I am now safe, cared for, and scheduled for surgery next week.My foster says I am incredibly gentle and loving, despite everything Ive endured. Its clear my past was not kind the burns around my neck tell a painful story but somehow, I still trust people. I still lean in for affection. I still believe in kindness. For the first time in a long while, I have a good feeling about this year. It feels like my life is finally beginning to change for the better. If youre able, please consider helping me on my healing journey. My hip replacement surgery is estimated to cost $3,500, and any support whether through donating or sharing my story truly means the world to me.Donations can be made via PayPal at churchofpug@gmail.com or via Venmo at ChurchofPug.Thank you for giving me a chance. My journey is just beginning.

Story
I was left abandoned at the shelter from a very questionable background. Unable to hold in any food my timeline was cut short at the shelter. Thank goodness Church of Pug said yes to giving me a chance. My foster mom took me to this dog doctor who did not think I had much time left. No one could explain what was happening with me. Luckily my foster mom and the dogtor did not give up on trying to find out what was causing me to be so sick. All I knew ... I was SO HUNGRY, but no matter how much I ate I could not gain weight, and my body was breaking down. Luckily, a special test gave everyone the answer ... I have something called Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) which I guess means my pancreas does not work so well UNLESS I have these awesome enzymes that help me absorb nutrients AND I am FINALLY feeling full and getting healthy and strong. Even with all of these things I can proudly say I am completely potty trained. No accidents for me. I like my space ... and I gravitate to the cat vs. the other dogs in the house. I sleep through the night and when I want to be pet or cuddle, I put up my paw and gently grab your hand or arm. I am still unsure about people ... I don't like to be picked up ... so when I want on the couch I growl when I go from floor to next to you ... but then I stop. If I am not sure what you are doing or your intentions, I will growl. It's my way to say I'm uncomfortable but I would never hurt anyone, I swear. I am really trying to behave like a dog who is loved, vs a dog who was hurt. I believe I can learn to trust again I just hope my forever home has the patience to help me get to that happy place. For my comfort a home with kids and wild hyper pups would not suit me. I prefer the calmer of the pack and the kitty cat. I know I am ready to find my forever home now that I'm all healthy and strong. Is that potentially you?

Story
Once abandoned and left behind at just 6 months old, Pixies story almost ended before it began. When she arrived at the shelter, x-rays revealed her stomach had a couple of rocks like actual rocks. No one knows why, but clearly this little survivor was trying to make the best of a really rough situation. Thankfully, Church of Pug said YES, and Pixie hasnt looked back since. Shes now thriving in foster care sleeping peacefully through the night in her crate, getting the hang of potty training (almost there!), and spreading quiet sweetness wherever she goes. She has a little puppy energy, but shes no wild child more of a gentle goofball with an occasional zoomie. Pixie gets along great with other dogs and is currently being checked for a possible hearing impairment though if shes ignoring you, she may just be practicing selective listening like every clever dog before her. Her past may have been rocky (literally), but her future is all soft beds, belly rubs, and people who know she deserves the world.

Story
Meet Tiny! Dont let the name fool youthis little Frenchie comes with a big personality. Tiny is a young girl full of sass, wiggles, and classic French Bulldog attitude. She is funny, stubborn, and very opinionated. Tiny does have a bite history, and full transparency is important. In both bite incidents, Tiny was attempting to go after another dog, and a person was bitten while intervening. Because of this, Tiny must be kept completely separate from other dogs, both inside the home and in public settings. Tiny is not dog-friendly and does not do well with other dogs on walks or in shared environments. She must be the only dog in the household, and careful management around other dogs will always be required. She is also not suitable for a home with children, particularly small children, due to safety and liability concerns. Tiny is a strong-willed girl who likes to test boundaries and believes it is her job to walk you by grabbing the leash and confidently leading the way. She will need a very experienced, confident French Bulldog owner, or someone familiar with handling strong-willed breeds, who can provide clear structure, consistent boundaries, and responsible management. In the right home, with realistic expectations and experienced handling, Tiny has the potential to be a loyal, funny, and affectionate companion. If you are an experienced French Bulldog owner looking for a high-personality dog and are prepared to manage her needs appropriately, Tiny may be the right fit.

Yes, the rumors are true. I am a wheelie pug and I am wheelie awesome too. I still have some use of my back legs so I dont need my wheelchair when Im on the grass or carpet, but my foster mom has a lot of slippy floors so she puts me in my wheelchair when shes bopping around room to room so I can follow and try to be the Velcro pug I dream of being. I have been going on lots of adventures lately and my foster mom says Im the best copilot! I love a road trip, especially the snacks part. Can I have one of your fries? I am well behaved and dont bark too much. Foster mom took me on a 3 mile hike and I relaxed in the sling the whole time and looked around at the big beautiful world. We had lunch outside the other day and I just chilled out and enjoyed the sun and smells. She let me roll around a bit and I made new friends everywhere I went! Basically Im the best girl. Lets cuddle.

Story
Hi, Im Elton. Age: 4 Occupation: Jungle explorer (currently living indoors) Im a sweet, playful pug boy with big Tarzan energy in a compact, snack-powered body. I may not swing from vines, but I will sprint through the house like Im being chased by a leopard then strike a heroic pose like I just conquered the wild. Im friendly with other dogs and I love to play. Im also famous for my signature jungle dance: spinning in circles like Im calling the animals of the forest to assemble. Im crate trained, pretty solid on my manners, and Im always ready for my next great adventure whether thats a walk, a toy mission, or exploring the mysterious land known as the kitchen. Fun fact: I enjoy synchronizing peeing with my foster brother. Its not weird. Its teamwork. If youre looking for a funny, affectionate little jungle prince who will make you laugh every day, apply to adopt me today!
