Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Samantha! Samantha is an 8-year-old, 25 lb French Bulldog who is looking for her forever home! This lovely girl is super sweet, affectionate, and wonderful with people. She also does great with other dogs and would happily share her home with a canine companion. That said, she’d be just as content as an only dog, soaking up all the love and attention from her humans. Samantha is very treat-motivated (she’s currently practicing taking treats more gently!) and absolutely adores cuddling. She enjoys going on walks and would love a home committed to daily strolls and little adventures. While she’s past the puppy stage, she still enjoys getting out and about and being part of the action. She’s truly just a really good girl ~ loving, easy to be around, and happiest when she’s close to her people. If you’re looking for a devoted companion with a heart of gold and a face you can’t help but fall in love with, Samantha might be your perfect match! Samantha’s UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED (currently in foster care) Meet Biscuit, a 6.5 year-old Frenchie that her foster family affectionately calls "Grubs" . She's cute, short/small and a little pudgy ~ a big girl in small dog's body. She's pretty wrinkly and makes funny grumbling noises. You will not find a more affectionate bulldog! Gubs is originally from an overcrowded shelter in CA and has been a mamma before. Her eye was missing long before she arrived at our rescue, and the eye injury site is very stable and does not require any monitoring or maintenance. She's extremely affectionate and will want to crawl into your lap for cuddles and kisses. She's very cute and loves affection from people but will brawl with other dogs for affection. She's pretty good about food boundaries with other dogs. She is house-trained but can be lazy and will need supervision. She really like her potty-pad. Grubs is currently in a home with 3 other dogs, two little chihuahua mixes and an English Bulldog. She will compete for attention so her adopters will need to be careful to give her attention and affection at the right time. The foster's manage well in the household by not giving in to her triggers but we do think that she would do best as an only dog in the home. Grub will require a family who will keep her active (she loves to walk) and has brachycephalic dog ownership experience. She would do best as the only dog in the home but with regular access to other dogs so that she will remain well socialized. Grubs does well with other dogs as long as there is good leadership and monitoring. She likes her small foster sibling much more than her large english bulldog foster sibling She's has had a vet checkup. She was severely overweight at 42lb at her highest. She's down to about 25lbs. She's small framed for a Frenchie. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
Alaska is a little girl who came running to the shelter to hide, we assume she was scared after being run over. At first glance we saw that she had a fracture in her hind leg, her first visit to the vet was to prepare her for an amputation, since her leg was beyond repair. After her recovery, she began to prepare to find her new home, currently she already has her vaccinations up to date, she is spayed and ready. She is a very pampered dog, like a big girl, waiting for love, affection and lots of cuddles, she likes to go for walks, eager to see new places, always happy, following you everywhere. She is very curious, elated to see you, and such an adorable, smart little girl. The fact that she is missing her leg does not stop her, she runs, plays and can even jump, she has adapted quite well to her new life. She is still a puppy, she will barely be a year old, she will not grow any more, she is medium, around 28 pounds. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Story
MEET FRANCO & BRIE, two adorable 1-year-old French Bulldog mixes in need of a forever home. These two are very bonded, and are likely brother and sister. They weigh about 30 lbs each. (Their paperwork may say shepherd mix but they both have Frenchie ears.) Both of them are timid/scared of new people, so they need adopters who can be patient and let them come out of their shells and bond to you. They are cute as a button and a wonderful size. They love to play together (email us for a video). If you can adopt this precious pair, please email for an application. They are both in California but can be transported to you in Washington.

Story
Doughnut is a French Bulldog puppy. He is just so cute, with the biggest pinkish ears! He is shy and sweet and he loves head scratches. Despite that he enjoys being near his person even though he is still a bit wary. Once he starts getting love he leans in to it and just wants more. His favorite toy is tennis ball. Does he like to play fetch or just chew on it? He likes to sleep in the living room on the couch or in his dog bed. Potty training has just started so it is in progress. He is picking it up and making progress. He is anxious about meal times, but is definitely getting enough to eat. He isn’t guarding food. He gets along with other dogs. So far he doesn’t have experience with cats or kids. He doesn’t mind riding in a car -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

These pups are in Bothell, Washington too!

Story
Please meet Forrest! This sweet pup is estimated to be about 10 months old. At a young age, he was abandoned in a park. We don’t know what happened to his mom or if he and his brother were the only ones to survive, but Forrest is resilient with a heart full of joy. Forrest is a happy and playful boy who’s adjusting well to life in a home. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and people. He lives in a foster home with cats but he gets very excited wanting to play when he sees them so he accidentally scares the cats. While he’s gentle and kind, we recommend a home with older kids, as his youthful energy might accidentally knock over toddlers. He's a big wiggle-butt, a very happy boy! Forrest would thrive with a family who can help him with leash training and shower him with the love and attention he deserves. Are you ready to give Forrest the forever home he’s been waiting for? We can drive this pup to your area! If you like this cutie please send us an inquiry here and we'll give you a call and video chat with the pup! Here's the link: www.friendsfurliferescue.org/adoption-application Please copy/paste the above link into your browser ^ Our transport can take this pup to any of the above locations. (YES we also adopt to Canada! Please note: adoption fee is in US dollars.) There is NO transport fee, or any extra fees. All is included in the adoption fee. Thank you! We're looking forward to your inquiry!

Story
Animal Profile:  Penny is a 2 1/2 year old, 65 lb spayed female English Bulldog mix. She has a tight, clean coat and an adorable under bite. She has guardian-breed tendencies and will need a breed-savvy owner who's able to provide appropriate leadership. She is loyal to her family and loves to snuggle. Her absolute favorite joy in life is Ball! She enjoys playing with other dogs but requires a human who can supervise and advocate for appropriate interactions or she is prone to bullying behavior. She is currently being fostered in a home with two other dogs and is crate-trained, house-trained, and has basic obedience training. She will benefit from structure, leadership, and ongoing training. Once acclimated in a home environment, she loves to snuggle and play and has a goofy, loving personality.  Adopter Profile:  Single family residence required Secure fenced yard preferred Large breed experience required Bully breed experience preferred Other balanced dogs and older children considered on case by case basis Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, flea/tick treatment, deworming, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Medical Notes: Penny has had one TPLO repaired in Spring 2025 and fully recovered, before tearing her other CCL in Fall 2025. We will do another TPLO for her with adoption interest.  Animal History:  Penny and her siblings were a surprise litter - their mother was adopted from a local family when she was unknowingly pregnant, so he got much more than he bargained for when she had puppies soon after her adoption. Penny was born on 12/09/22; one of the littermates was  DNA tested and so presumably all littermates are  75% English Bulldog, 12.5% German Shepherd, 12.5% Rhodesian Ridgeback. As puppies, these dogs were playful and engaging. Penny was adopted as a puppy to a family who was not prepared for the tendencies of this breed combination. Without any formal training, she developed territorial behaviors in the home and on walks that ultimately led the family to return her to the rescue. She has since been evaluated and fostered in a DGS foster home. She is currently available for adoption to the greater Seattle area.  January 16, 2026, 10:31 pm
