Story
My adult daughter (that lived with me) got Bishop from someone in her AA meeting that worked a lot and kept him in a crate all day. She has since reconciled with her partner and has moved back with him and her children. They can’t have pets, so I’ve been caring for him as best I can. I’ve never had pets because I’m very busy traveling for work. Bishop, we believe, is a French Bulldog mix that is between 1-2 years old. He is very social and cannot get enough attention and love. He is very friendly to all people, but can get excited/aggressive towards other dogs depending on their temper. Bishop loves to be active, so a fenced yard or frequent walks are very beneficial as well as a family member that is home most of the time. We don’t know Bishop’s medical history. The only thing that is obvious is, what I’ve heard called “cherry eye” which is visible in the pictures.

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED (currently in foster care) Meet Biscuit, a 7 year-old Frenchie that her foster family affectionately calls "Grubs" . She's cute, short/small and a little pudgy ~ a big girl in small dog's body. She's pretty wrinkly and makes funny grumbling noises. You will not find a more affectionate bulldog! Gubs is originally from an overcrowded shelter in CA and has been a mamma before. Her eye was missing long before she arrived at our rescue, and the eye injury site is very stable and does not require any monitoring or maintenance. She's extremely affectionate and will want to crawl into your lap for cuddles and kisses. She's very cute and loves affection from people but will brawl with other dogs for affection. She's pretty good about food boundaries with other dogs. She is house-trained but can be lazy and will need supervision. She really like her potty-pad. She doesn't like the rain or bad weather. Some cajoling will need to happen. She's on a hormone support chewable. It's helpful to support her since she was a breeding dog and has had many litters. She doens't need this medication to stay healthy; it just helps her with have longer bladder control. Grubs is currently in a home with 3 other dogs, two little chihuahua mixes and an English Bulldog. She will compete for attention so her adopters will need to be careful to give her attention and affection at the right time. The foster's manage well in the household by not giving in to her triggers but we do think that she would do best as an only dog in the home. She could be place with other little dogs that won't mind her being dominant. She will have issues with a larger dog in the home. Grub will require a family who will keep her active (she loves to walk) and has brachycephalic dog ownership experience. She would do best as the only dog in the home but with regular access to other dogs so that she will remain well socialized. Grubs does well with other dogs as long as there is good leadership and monitoring. She's has had a vet checkup. She was severely overweight at 42lb at her highest. She's down to about 25lbs. She's small framed for a Frenchie. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $400.

Story
Alaska is a little girl who came running to the shelter to hide, we assume she was scared after being run over. At first glance we saw that she had a fracture in her hind leg, her first visit to the vet was to prepare her for an amputation, since her leg was beyond repair. After her recovery, she began to prepare to find her new home, currently she already has her vaccinations up to date, she is spayed and ready. She is a very pampered dog, like a big girl, waiting for love, affection and lots of cuddles, she likes to go for walks, eager to see new places, always happy, following you everywhere. She is very curious, elated to see you, and such an adorable, smart little girl. The fact that she is missing her leg does not stop her, she runs, plays and can even jump, she has adapted quite well to her new life. She is still a puppy, she will barely be a year old, she will not grow any more, she is medium, around 28 pounds. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Buddy Ru is a charming French Bulldog with a larger-than-life personality and a face that’s impossible to resist. Whether he’s making you laugh with his goofy expressions or curling up beside you for a nap, this sweet boy loves being part of the action and spending time with his favorite people. Like many Frenchies, Buddy Ru enjoys the good life—and he’s currently working on shedding a few extra pounds to be his healthiest self. His future family can help him stay on track with appropriate exercise, portion control, and lots of encouragement as he continues his wellness journey. Buddy Ru would do best with adopters who understand that he likes to choose his friends carefully. While he can be a wonderful companion, he doesn’t always enjoy the company of other dogs and may thrive best as the only pet or with slow, thoughtful introductions and proper management. What Buddy Ru lacks in size, he makes up for in loyalty, affection, and personality. If you’re looking for a devoted sidekick who wants to be your couch buddy, adventure partner, and constant companion, Buddy Ru may be your perfect match. Buddy Ru at a Glance: * 🐶 French Bulldog with a fun-loving, affectionate personality * ❤️ Loves people and enjoys spending time with his family * 🥗 Currently on a weight-loss journey and making great progress * 🐕 May prefer to be the only dog or require careful introductions to canine companions * 🏡 Looking for a loving home where he can continue to thrive and be spoiled with attention Buddy Ru is ready to find the forever family that will love him just as he is and cheer him on every step of the way. Local adoption fee is $500(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $750 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Please meet Forrest! This sweet pup is estimated to be about 10 months old. At a young age, he was abandoned in a park. We don’t know what happened to his mom or if he and his brother were the only ones to survive, but Forrest is resilient with a heart full of joy. Forrest is a happy and playful boy who’s adjusting well to life in a home. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and people. He lives in a foster home with cats but he gets very excited wanting to play when he sees them so he accidentally scares the cats. While he’s gentle and kind, we recommend a home with older kids, as his youthful energy might accidentally knock over toddlers. He's a big wiggle-butt, a very happy boy! Forrest would thrive with a family who can help him with leash training and shower him with the love and attention he deserves. Are you ready to give Forrest the forever home he’s been waiting for? We can drive this pup to your area! If you like this cutie please send us an inquiry here and we'll give you a call and video chat with the pup! Story
Derp was removed from a neglectful situation with several other dogs. They all had horrible demodectic mange and took quite some time to get cleared up. Derp still has some thin spots but I believe at this point he's reached his hair growth potential. This guy has the absolute best and most hilarious personality. He will have you cracking up constantly!

Story
Animal Profile:  Penny is a 2 1/2 year old, 65 lb spayed female English Bulldog mix. She has a tight, clean coat and an adorable under bite. She has guardian-breed tendencies and will need a breed-savvy owner who's able to provide appropriate leadership. She is loyal to her family and loves to snuggle. Her absolute favorite joy in life is Ball! She enjoys playing with other dogs but requires a human who can supervise and advocate for appropriate interactions or she is prone to bullying behavior. She is currently being fostered in a home with two other dogs and is crate-trained, house-trained, and has basic obedience training. She will benefit from structure, leadership, and ongoing training. Once acclimated in a home environment, she loves to snuggle and play and has a goofy, loving personality.  Adopter Profile:  Single family residence required Secure fenced yard preferred Large breed experience required Bully breed experience preferred Other balanced dogs and older children considered on case by case basis Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, flea/tick treatment, deworming, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Medical Notes: Penny has had one TPLO repaired in Spring 2025 and fully recovered, before tearing her other CCL in Fall 2025. We will do another TPLO for her with adoption interest.  Animal History:  Penny and her siblings were a surprise litter - their mother was adopted from a local family when she was unknowingly pregnant, so he got much more than he bargained for when she had puppies soon after her adoption. Penny was born on 12/09/22; one of the littermates was  DNA tested and so presumably all littermates are  75% English Bulldog, 12.5% German Shepherd, 12.5% Rhodesian Ridgeback. As puppies, these dogs were playful and engaging. Penny was adopted as a puppy to a family who was not prepared for the tendencies of this breed combination. Without any formal training, she developed territorial behaviors in the home and on walks that ultimately led the family to return her to the rescue. She has since been evaluated and fostered in a DGS foster home. She is currently available for adoption to the greater Seattle area.  July 19, 2026, 10:25 am
