Story
How this pet arrived: Lola Bunny was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on January 1, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you: Meet Lola Bunny! Lola Bunny bounced into our lives as a stray, so her backstory is a bit of a mystery. What we do know is that she's a shy little hopper who takes her time warming up. New things can be scary, but with plenty of space, soft baby talk, and maybe a treat or two, Lola starts to peek out of her shell and show her sweet side. She's looking for a quiet burrow to call home-ideally with adults or older kids (10+) who understand that good things come to those who wait. Keeping her world small and cozy while she settles in will help her feel safe and confident. If you're patient, kind, and ready to celebrate tiny victories (and big trust moments), Lola Bunny is ready to hop into your life. PS- if there a dog in the home, please bring them in to make sure everyone hops along happily! Shy/Fearful Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 54.6 Age: 1yrs 6mths 2wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Layla was brought in by a community member on January 5, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Layla! Layla is a beautiful German Shepherd looking for a calm, patient home where she can settle in at her own pace. She recently had a few masses removed and is healing very well, but she'll still appreciate a peaceful environment as she continues to recover. Layla may be a little reserved at first, so slow introductions to new people and environments will be important to help her feel secure. Providing her with a consistent routine, a safe space of her own, and plenty of positive reinforcement will allow her confidence to grow. With time, understanding, and gentle guidance, Layla has the potential to become a loyal and loving companion for the right family. If you're ready to learn more about Layla, come on in and adopt her today! At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home! Story
How this pet arrived:Zeus and Iris were brought in by their previous owner on November 15, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Zeus & Iris - the dynamic duo with hearts of gold and superpowers to match! If you're hunting for double the love and double the fun, look no further. Zeus and Iris are bonded besties who bring charm, silliness, and a whole lot of sweetness everywhere they go. Baths? They'll tolerate them with dramatic sighs. Nail trims? Hard pass. They might bark at strangers strolling by, but once they actually meet someone, they warm up fast and turn on the charm. They're used to a doggy door, so they may need a little refresher on potty routines in a new home. They've been around kids too, though we're not sure what sizes of tiny humans they've met. A special note about Zeus: He's had seizures since he was a puppy - reportedly just a couple a year. But here's where the magic comes in: Iris alerts to them. Yes, she's not only his best friend, she's his built-in support system, and she takes her role seriously. Their bond is truly something special. Zeus is required to have no other dogs in his home but his sister, he's kind of the big man on campus. Zeus has also displayed some resource guarding with his sister so keeping up with boundaries at home is a must. If you're ready to welcome two lovable goofballs with an extra dose of heart, Zeus and Iris are ready to make your home their next adventure. At SDHS:Zeus and Iris have been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. They are now ready for their new home! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 71.2 Age: 9yrs 7mths 1wks
