Story
Yvette is in foster care in Huntington Beach SO Cal area. Yvette is such a nice compact little shepherd girl who is almost 3yrs old and weighs 60 pounds. She has been waiting awhile for a family and her friend we rescued with her has been adopted leaving Yvette alone and waiting. She is gentle and playful with other dogs the same size as her in her playgroup. She likes toys, scampering and bowing around the play yard and is great in the car and on leash. She still has puppy energy and may play a little to hard to be with really small dogs and she doesn't care for kitties. For a family this dog has an amazing personality and does her best to mind and please. Yvette could play ball from sunrise till bedtime and never tires of her favorite toy. She like water and on hot days can be seen splashing contentedly in her kiddie pool. The beach lake or river would be her idea of Heaven. If you want a sweet new family friend please email Alphadogpetrescue@yahoo.com and ask for our adoption application. Adopt fee is $300 and she is fully vetted, shots, chipped and spayed.

Story
Meet Ella 🐾 Ella is a truly gorgeous German Shepherd, about 6 years old and around 60 pounds, with a personality that lights up every room she walks into. She waited far too long at the shelter, and everyone agrees the only reason is because she’s missing some fur on her tummy — something we barely notice because her sweet, sparkly spirit completely steals the show. Ella is friendly, smart, and highly trainable, with the energy of a much younger dog (straight from the vet’s mouth — more like a 2-year-old!). She loves long walks, adventures, and hopping in and out of the car all by herself like a total pro. She flashes the best smile, and everyone who meets her immediately asks about her and comments on how beautiful and incredibly sweet she is. She’s affectionate to her core, a world-class cuddler, and always seeking love. Ella is house trained, crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and does wonderfully with kids, cats, and other dogs. Her missing tummy fur may never grow back, but it’s not contagious and doesn’t bother her one bit. After spending months at the shelter with no interest, The Misfit Ranch stepped in and pulled this amazing girl to safety. Now she’s living the spoiled foster life and soaking up all the love — but everyone is still stunned she hasn’t been adopted yet. Honestly? She’s probably just been waiting for you. 💛

Story
Rex is such a love!!! Rex was born on February 17, 2022. He is a big boy at about 70 pounds and he is very tall. He is a shepherd with some cattle dog mixed in. He loves the outdoors, so he would be amazing for a family with some property or a large yard, but he also adores being with his people, so he is happy to chill inside as well. He still has a few puppy traits (occasionally finds something to chew on, that he shouldn't), but for the most part, he is just a great dog with a good amount of energy, but not too crazy! He loves toys and he loves puppies! He does seem to get along with most dogs with a proper intro. Sometimes he gets a little over excited meeting new dogs when he is on a leash, so he may bark at them (and he has a big bark), but he will settle down. We think he would be a good dog for someone with mobility issues because of his height and size. He's great in the car and he's good with kids but because of his size and occasionally mouthing and herding, we think he's probably best with older kids. He is housetrained and crate trained. He really is such a good boy and we can't quite figure out why he hasn't found a home yet. Currently in need of new foster in So Cal or can be adopted anywhere in California. Adoption fee of $200 includes spay/neuter, core vaccines (DAPP and rabies), microchip, access to training videos. You must complete an application before we are able to accommodate any request for a meet and greet. Please apply here to adopt: Adoption Application or to foster apply here: Foster Application Thank you!

Story
Meet Bruce 🖤 Bruce is about 66 pounds of stunning Malinois mix goodness, with a heart as big as his smile. His story almost had a heartbreaking ending—but instead, it became exactly the kind of rescue story that reminds us why we do this. Bruce landed at an overcrowded shelter and waited… and waited. Month after month, he was overlooked, despite being a staff favorite. He was friendly, happy-go-lucky, and so sweet—yet somehow, he ended up red-listed, scheduled to lose his life simply because time ran out. Staff shared videos of him bouncing around, completely unaware that the next day was supposed to be his last. We couldn’t let that happen. The Misfit Ranch swooped in just in time, and during Bruce’s freedom walk, shelter staff were in tears—happy tears—knowing this good boy was finally safe. Rescues like this are what it’s all about, and Bruce’s second chance was only possible because a foster family stepped up when it mattered most. Now Bruce is thriving in his foster home with a loving foster mom and dad and a foster sister dog. He does well with other dogs (he may need a minute to warm up) and is friendly with people. He also does great at the dog park, showing off his social skills and enjoying time with canine friends. He’s lived with older kids and would do best in a home with older children or no kids, as tiny humans aren’t really his thing. Bruce is: Crate trained (though he’ll let you know he prefers sleeping in the same room as his people—even if it’s still in a crate!) A total couch snuggler Deeply people-oriented and happiest when he’s near his humans Loyal, affectionate, and incredibly lovable Bruce survived against the odds, and now he’s just waiting for the one thing he’s never had—a forever home. If you’re looking for a devoted companion with an incredible rescue story and a whole lot of love to give, Bruce might be the one who’s been waiting for you all along. 🐾💛
