Story
This lovely old gal is named Ruby. Ruby's owner recently passed away after an extended illness. She's a BIG old teddy bear with her golden years ahead of her. She is a long time companion dog, who enjoys a head scratch and tummy rub. She's laid back, and loves to cuddle. She is starting to show early signs of arthritis, so a low impact, causal lifestyle fits her best. She is house trained and good with kids and dogs, but would do best in a fenced backyard.

Story
Meet Bruno — Your Future Adventure Buddy!  Handsome?  ✔️ Young & playful?  ✔️ Loyal shepherd personality?  ✔️ Ready for a forever home? ABSOLUTELY.  ❤️ Bruno is a gorgeous 1.5-year-old German Shepherd mix who is finally learning what love, safety, and stability feel like. Before rescue, Bruno sadly spent much of his life running the streets because his previous owner admittedly allowed him to roam freely. Because of that, he can still be a little skittish at first — but once he trusts you, his sweet and loving personality shines through. Now safely in foster care, Bruno is discovering how wonderful it is to be cared for, spoiled, and loved. He’s doing great with the other German Shepherd dogs in his foster home and has enough energy to keep them busy all day! This boy would thrive with an active family or person who understands shepherds and enjoys exercise, playtime, and companionship. Bruno is:  Super sweet and friendly  Young, athletic, and playful  Dog-friendly with other large dogs  Fully vetted  Neutered  Microchipped  Ready for his forever family Because Bruno previously survived by roaming, he is considered a high flight-risk/door-bolter, so he will need: ➡️  A secure fenced yard ➡️  An experienced, attentive adopter ➡️  No small children due to door safety concerns Bruno has already overcome so much and deserves a home where he’ll never be unwanted or left to fend for himself again. With patience, structure, and love, this beautiful boy is going to make someone an incredible companion.  Interested in adopting Bruno? Email  passionforanimals5017@gmail.com He’s ready to leave street life behind forever and start his happily-ever-after.  August 12, 2026, 6:03 am

FOSTER HOME - NEEDED UNTIL ADOPTIVE HOME FOUND Meet Rocky & Winnie: A Loving Bonded Pair Looking for a Home Rocky and Winnie are a precious bonded pair who suddenly find themselves needing a new chapter — together. For more than two months, our rescue has been caring for Rocky and Winnie in the home their owner had to leave due to serious health issues. During that time, we have kept them safe, comfortable, fed, walked, loved, and cared for in the familiar home they know. Now, Rocky and Winnie urgently need a special person or family to step forward for them — AND SOON! The home they have been living in will be going on the market soon, and they will have nowhere to go unless someone steps up to foster them — or, even better, ADOPT them. These two are well-mannered, house-trained dogs who are accustomed to living in a home. They rely on one another for comfort and companionship, and we are committed to keeping them together. Meet Rocky Breed/Type: Senior Shepherd Mix Age: Approximately 8–8½ years old Rocky is gentle, loyal, calm, and affectionate with a heart of gold. He is an easygoing guy who brings a wonderful combination of gentle companionship and happy enthusiasm to everyday life. He loves his toys, going for walks, and especially mealtime — he gets SO excited! Meet Winnie Breed/Type: Black & White Pointer Mix Age: 6 years old Winnie is sweet, friendly, loving, and a total affection bug! She loves neighborhood walks, giving kisses, getting hugs and pets, and simply being close to her humans. She is a happy, affectionate girl and Rocky's constant best friend. Winnie will absolutely flood you with love and cuddles.  Why Foster or Adopt Rocky & Winnie? They're a bonded pair. Rocky and Winnie rely on each other and bring out the best in one another. They're house-trained and home-ready. Both are gentle house dogs accustomed to living in a home and enjoying a comfortable routine. You get double the love. From Rocky's happy mealtime excitement to Winnie's hugs and kisses, these two bring so much warmth and affection with them. Most importantly, you can change TWO lives. Their world has already changed tremendously. What they need now is the security of knowing they still have each other — and a person who will be there for them.  FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED — URGENT! If you have room in your heart and home for this loving duo, even temporarily, please reach out. And if you can't foster or adopt, PLEASE SHARE Rocky & Winnie's story. Their special person may be someone in your circle who simply hasn't seen them yet. Email: passionforanimals5017@gmail.com  Phone: 470-834-5432  Rescue: Canine Crusaders of Atlanta Rescue (CCAR) Rocky & Winnie have already lost the life they knew. We're determined to make sure they don't lose each other, too.    August 12, 2026, 6:03 am

Story
7yr old tan M/N shepherd mix Foster notes: Noble is a sensitive guy and he seems to be more comfortable around women than men for now.  He loves being near his person & follows me all day around the house.  He may resource guard his bed.  He bit my husband the first week we had him when he tried to pet him when he was on his bed.  I have since kept him apart from my husband and he has not shown any signs of aggression for a while and he has even wagged his tail at my husband.  I would still err on the side of caution with new people and men with his bed.  Any iffy situation I have him leashed and muzzled or on the other side of a baby gate.  When people come over or in crowded places I let him wear a comfortable muzzle.  It makes me more comfortable and it keeps him out of trouble.  He has walked in very crowded places in close quarters wearing a muzzle and has not shown any signs of aggression.  I feel that if there is any aggression it could be territorial or fearful aggression because I have only seen him do it at home.  I don’t know how he is around children but I think it would be a safer bet to say no kids.  He is potty trained.  He is good with other dogs with a proper introduction.  I have two pit bulls and a chihuahua and he hangs out with them all day long.  He is obsessed with playing fetch.  He will drop the ball in front of you while you are cooking dinner.  Once he thinks you are his person, you could not find a more loyal and loving campanion.  He has decompressed a lot in the short time he has lived with me and he will  be even better with time in a loving and patient home.  His ideal owner would be someone who is willing to take it slow with him and let him open up on his own terms, someone with a lot of dog experience, who is home a lot, a woman.  Also he came to me with itchy skin and I have been giving him fresh food and it has cleared everything up.  So a dream home would provide that for him too otherwise I think he might have allergies. Also Noble is very athletic.  If someone wants a jogging partner, he would be up for it. ##2632401##

Story
BEST WAY TO INQIRE, CONTACT@BAMMRESCUEPDX.ORG Gandalf - 57 lb, 3 years old, Shepherd mix. This poor guy was a stray; he was caught using a dog trap. He’s shut down in the shelter environment. He’ll need an experienced, patient handler who can help him to decompress and come out of his shell. Gandalf was evaluated by staff; key observations are as follows: Tolerates gentle petting on the head; shut down; shows limited social skills with people. Overall, appears under socialized and a flight risk! Leash walking is currently very uncomfortable; he will resist, yelp, and attempt to hide. Enjoyed spending time in the yard (on leash), tolerated people being present but does not show much enthusiasm or engagement. He did take treats gently from the handler. Tested well with another male (Coffee); they were able to sit in the grass together and relax. He was also introduced to a more energetic female dog, River. He initially growled at her but then was able to coexist and allow some curious sniffing. Any future introductions to other dogs should be slow and supervised. When returning to his kennel, Gandalf walked inside on his own to hide and allowed staff to remove his leash without issue. ##2604285##
