Buddy is crate trained and housebroken, making him an easy addition to any home. Buddy enjoys being active and exploring his surroundings. He loves to go for walks and runs, and he would be the perfect companion for someone who enjoys spending time outdoors. He is also very intelligent and loves to learn new tricks and commands, making him a great candidate for continued training and socialization. While Buddy gets along well with people, he needs to be the only dog in the household due to his potential reactivity towards other dogs. Story
Meet Star, a 3-year-old female with a heart as big as her 79 lbs. She found her way to the shelter on 11/10/23 as a lost girl with no one coming forward to reclaim her. Despite a tough start, Star is a sweet girl who deserves a second chance. Currently residing in Run #409 with the ID 650648, Star will undergo spaying, microchipping, and a heartworm test before adoption. She is up to date on vaccines, and with the right care and attention, Star is sure to blossom into the wonderful companion she was meant to be. Story
Hops, a 9-month-old 45 lb shepherd mix, is a loveable guy who adores everyone: children, men and women, and dogs big or small, even though he can be a little shy at first meetings. Did I mention he's a lover? According to Hops, bedtime snuggles and morning belly rubs are the perfect way to start and end the day.  Hops is fully potty and crate-trained, but he will get chatty if left in his crate for very long; however, he's not destructive and doesn't bark excessively; he only wants to be near his people. His ideal home is one where someone is home or can check on him throughout the day.  Hops had a minor fracture on one of his legs (probably why his name is  Hops), but he quickly bounced back and is a healthy, active guy. Hops loves road trips with all the new sights and sounds. He also enjoys his short leash walks under the guise of searching for sticks to take home. And while he loves his walks, his favorite outdoor activity is to run free in a fenced yard - his foster mom says you'll need one.  Hops is so excited to find his "fur-ever" home. If you love a well-behaved boy who loves hanging out, cuddling, and giving you some love, Hops is your guy! Story
Swanky Lola found herself out on her own at a young age. Thankfully, a kind person took her in and looked all over to see if she had a family. When none was found, this kind person helped her become an Angel pup and even cared for her until we found her forever home!   Swanky Lola is a 56-pound, 1.5 year old, German Shepherd mix. She is crate and potty trained too. Swanky Lola loves going on walks, riding in the car and is very treat motivated. She is also very affectionate and loves giving kisses.    She has been working on her basic manners with a professional trainer. She's done very well and enjoys having a job. She would like to be the only pup in a home. She adores people, including older children. Her playful exuberance is a bit much for young children. She still has lots of puppy energy, so an active family would be best.    Add some shepherd love to your family with Swanky Lola! Good with kids, Good with dogs,
Story
Hi there. As a long-time dog foster mom, I want to tell you about a VERY SPECIAL GIRL, Lily Maureen.   Three-year-old Lily came into our rescue scared and desperate for someone to care for her. She started to learn what it was like to be cared for and loved on by humans. And she discovered that once she gets to know and trusts you, you are her everything. Her idol. Her whole world. And she will love you fiercely like you've never been loved before. This girl is a once-in-a-lifetime companion who will fill any hole in your heart.   With proper introductions, she slowly warmed up to my husband and our three kids. In two weeks, she went from barking at and avoiding my husband, to affectionately shoving herself in his lap for snuggles and belly rubs. She loves all our kids, even the one who doesn't like animals. And she LOVES romping with and racing our other dogs around the backyard.   Lily is 100% housetrained, and although very playful and puppy-like, she isn't a chewer or ankle biter, and she never whines when left alone. She is not crate trained, but she waits patiently and quietly when gated off for rest time or bedtime. She walks well on a leash when not distracted by neighborhood dogs, and sniffing is her favorite pastime (right after snuggling). She is very treat-motivated and learns extremely quickly.    We have worked with a trainer (and lots of hours in-between) and Lily has made amazing progress. Her trainer is so impressed with the strides she has made, and even though she still has a ways to go, her trainer says, "I am so excited to see how this dog will blossom!" She will get there with someone committed to her continued training and socialization. Lily does need a home with a female caregiver, as she takes longer to warm up to men.   If you are willing to put in some extra time up front with this beautiful girl, she will repay you tenfold. Will you be her hero?   An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online.  http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms     Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions.
