Story
Sakura is a gem. She had been living with my neighbor for a year and a half. Her Great Grandson, who lived with her, adopted her from another family. My neighbor was taking care of Sakura while the owner was deployed in the Army but she died over the holidays. There is no one else in the family able to keep her so I'm helping to find a permanent home. Sakura is non-reactive around our cats, gets along great with another neighbors dog (pitbull), and is so gentle with all the kids. She takes awhile to warm up to other dogs so you would need to be prepared to introduce your dog slowly. I;ve been close to this dog since she&;s moved in and she is obedient, comes when called, and is just super sweet. I;ve taken her to work where she was fine with activity and different people, she fell asleep in the office, and walks nicely on a leash. The only time she pulls is when she sees a squirrel that is close, and even then, she stops when told. She is also quick to learn tricks and boundries.

Story
Hello! I rescued Mai Tai 2 years ago. She is approx 3 yrs old. She is very smart and knows basic commands and some bonus tricks. She is crate trained, knows how to place in her bed and does well on walks. Def needs help on her recall as she loves to chase critters and wants to say hi to other dogs so needs to be on a leash at this point. She is super playful, but also very sweet, funny and affectionate. She loves playing with toys, snuggling in bed and going for car rides. My job role has changed in the last year so I have been traveling almost weekly and work long hours. I also need to be in AZ for extended amounts of time now to help my elderly father. I really just don’t have the time she deserves and having to board her all the time is just unfair. Would really love to see her go to a home with a yard to run around in and maybe another dog to play with. Not recommending cats as she chases them.

Story
In need of a loving and very experienced home for my 6 year old dog. She recently did try to nip at the baby and our time and space is no longer suitable for Luna. We want her to have the best life and being around kids is just not something she enjoys. Keeping her separated from us is sad and she deserves better than that. Teenagers are fine but she does not like small kids. She is off leash trained and is a really great outdoor companion if that’s something you’re looking for. She definitely is not a “ dog park dog” she prefers to be without other dogs and just enjoys fetch on her own- please take that into consideration. She needs a lot of structure and time outdoors even though she’s getting older- still has a young spirit. It is a plus if you’ve trained previous dogs or are willing to train with her. Please consider if you have an apartment - German shepherds are often on the breed restriction list. Will highly consider someone who has a yard.

Story
**BABE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!**Beautiful and at times bashful, Babe is a 3-to-5-year-old female German Shepherd seeking a forever home. Babe was rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky. She's a thin 65 pounds but is gaining weight in her foster home and heading towards an ideal weight of about 75 pounds. Babe is not only a beautiful face but also an excellent ambassador for her breed, being even-tempered, intelligent, loyal, and watchful. She can be a little timid when meeting new people, but warms up readily with some kind words and gentle pets. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more faithful and loyal companion than Babe. Like most Shepherds, she's sensitive, highly intuitive, affectionate, eager to please, and bonds closely with her people! She is very well-behaved in the house, crate-trained, and housebroken. German Shepherds are active and intelligent dogs that thrive with guardians who can provide ample mental and physical stimulation to channel their energy into something productive. Babe will be an excellent companion for an active household and a Shepherd lover's dream dog! Babe is being fostered in Chicago and can be seen by appointment only after an adoption application has been completed and approved. Her adoption donation to the rescue is $375. This fee helps to cover her spay, initial vaccines, microchip, and heartworm testing. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. For more information or to receive an application, email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly. • Babe's adoption fee is $375. This fee helps to cover any necessary medical care to prepare her for adoption. Story
**STUART IS ADOPTED!** Introducing Stuart, the charming, friendly, magnetic canine extraordinaire! This handsome lad has it all: good looks, a gentle and affectionate spirit, and a quiet, intuitive intelligence seen in his deeply expressive eyes. At almost 8 months old, he's more of an old soul, with wisdom far beyond his age. Stuart's a great mix of energies; he's always happy to play, run, and goof around as much as you'd like him to, but he's also just as happy to sit back, hang out, and observe the world around him. Stuart was initially rescued from an overwhelmed animal control facility in rural Kentucky, along with his six littermates, when they were just eight weeks old. Shelters and rescues across the US are in crisis, adoptions have slowed considerably over the past 18 months, and surrenders and intakes are way up. In previous years, puppies in shelters and rescues were generally adopted quickly, often as soon as they became available. Within the past year, unfortunately, it has become more often the rule than the exception that very friendly, adoptable dogs, including puppies, remain in shelters or foster care for many months before being adopted. Casualties of this current shelter and rescue crisis, Stuart and four littermates have grown up in foster care while awaiting adoption. These sweet pups are more than ready and anxious to find the loving, forever families they so deserve. Approaching 7 months old and weighing over 50 pounds, Stuart will be a larger dog (70+ pounds) when fully mature. A DNA test performed on two littermates identifies their breed mix as 35% Bluetick Coonhound, 27%. German Shepherd, 23% Husky, 15% Staffordshire Terrier. Stuart has always been the calmest, coolest, and most collected of his litter and is very well behaved for a puppy. Still, he is a puppy, and potential adopters expect to continue his training and provide the guidance, structure, patience, and love that all puppies and adolescent dogs need to develop into exceptional canine citizens as adults. Stuart loves all humans and is social with other dogs as well. He's a real gem of a dog who will fill the life and home of his lucky adopters with joy, love, affection, and unmatched loyalty and companionship. They just don't come much more wonderful than Stuart. Meet him today! Stuart is fostered in Chicago, and meetings are arranged by appointment only after an adoption application has been received and approved. For more information or to apply, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit our website at palsplacerescue.org. Stuart's adoption fee is $475 (now reduced to $300 thanks to a generous sponsorship). This fee helps to cover his medical expenses while in our care. He is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines, and is taking monthly flea/heartworm preventatives. • All of our dogs reside in foster homes, and meetings are arranged by appointment only after our adoption application has been completed and approved for adoption.
