Story
German shepherds usually have pointy ears right?! Well, guess that makes me unique! I'm Shravya a young German shepherd mix with floppy ears and a goofy personality. I came to Almost Home Foundation and I was pretty shy and afraid of people, but the volunteers here are so great that they're making me come out of my shell and give lots of love and kisses. So it is safe to say, I warm up pretty quickly. I didn't have much exposure to the outside world prior to arriving at Almost Home so I am still a bit spectacle of noises and scare easily, but don't worry I'm young so I have a lot of room to learn and grow! I need to work on my leash manners too but I'm told I'm a smart girl so that doesn't worry me. It would be nice to have a family who will give me exercise, mental stimulation, and all the socialization I need. I would love to join you on adventures to gain some more confidence and I am pretty good company! My sisters and I love to play in our water bowl so I think I would be a pro swimmer! I absolutely LOVE other dogs. Running and playing is one of my favorite things to do and it is when I can reveal my true self! I would love to go with another dog in my new home but I think I would be okay solo too. I have finally learned about these cool things that I hear the humans call "toys" and they're awesome! I hope you have some for me because they are my favorite to throw around! I am very food motivated so if you have treats we will be best friends in no time! Plus, I've been told I have to put on a few pounds so lots of treats will be needed! I would prefer to not be home alone for long periods of time because I am not a huge fan of my crate. I am sure I can learn, but I need someone who has patience to work with me and show me it is not so scary! I hope you come and meet me because I am waiting for you! Adoption fee is $320. If you are interested in this dog, please complete an adoption application. Email: dogs@almosthomefoundation.org Almost Home Foundation's adoption requirements: (1) Be at least 21 years of age; (2) Have the consent of all adults living in the household; (3) Have approval from the residence owner; (4) Have valid ID with current address; (5) Be approved by Almost Home Foundation as a suitable adoptive home; and (6) Live in the suburbs surrounding Schaumburg (Illinois Residents only) *** Please note that Almost Home Foundation accepts only cash or checks for adoption fees; we do not accept debit or credit cards. ***

Their $490 adoption fee covers the interstate health certificate as well as the cost of transport to the midwest area. For an adoption application on TREVOR click here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam1.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Story
Female - 2 years - 62 lbs - Microchipped - Spayed - ILHello! My name is Ellie and I am a 2-year-old, 62 lb spayed female. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I should be crated when left home alone. I am friendly with new people after proper introductions and some time to warm up. I will actively seek affection from my people  and enjoy pets! I do well with visitors as long as I can meet them when they come in the house—we had a holiday party at home with lots of people over and I did well with everyone. Fast movements can make me anxious, so I would prefer any children in my home to be older. I love my dog friends although I can be selective about who I consider a friend. I love to wrestle with my foster sister and can play quite rough, so any other dogs in my home should have a similar play style. I  like my toys and am learning how to play fetch! I cannot go to a home with cats. I ride well in the car and enjoy tagging along for rides! My leash skills are a work in progress as I do pull quite a bit. I know sit very well and enjoy training so I would love a family willing to continue my obedience training!  I would love to find an adopter local to the Chicagoland area so I can meet you before coming home. I am an energetic, loving girl ready to find my perfect adoptive family—could that be yours? Follow me on Facebook:  #EchoDogEllie2022 For more information, please contact adoptions@echodogs.org.   Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states. Visit www.echodogs.org/available-dogs to see more of our dogs. Transportation for the adopted dog IS available. Remember, we are an all-volunteer foster rescue organization - we DO NOT have a physical shelter to visit. Our minimum adoption donation is $300. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Puppies under 6 months old may not be spayed/neutered. This would be the responsibility of the adopter at their own expense. Proof of spay/neuter will be required! Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Female - 4 years - 75 lbs - Microchipped - Spayed - MAHi, I'm Casey! I'm a beautiful 4 y.o. spayed female who is housebroken and crate trained, though I am a lady who can be trusted out of a crate. I have a high prey-drive and cannot go to a home with cats or small pets. I am also selective about other dogs and need to be the only dog in my home. I am a moderate-energy-level gal looking for an experienced adopter who wants to be my best friend for life. I take some time to warm up to people, but will greet men, women, and children appropriately when properly and slowly introduced. My special adopter will continue helping me work through my fear and anxiety issues and will respect my boundaries. My ideal home would be quiet, have routines, and have someone home most of the time – I really connect with people once they are 'mine.' I take medication for anxiety, which my family will need to continue, along with consistent training. I learn very quickly and pick up new commands with just a little repetition! This also helps my confidence, and I hope my family will continue to teach me. I love, love, love toys! For some reason, they don't last very long with me. But what I lack in stuffie preservation, I make up for by knowing which toys are mine and which are yours! I am very happy to play by myself or invent games for us to play together. My favorite is “reverse-fetch” where I drop a ball somewhere, and you bring it back to me! I don't love riding in a car, but the more places I go, the more I don’t mind it. I am still mastering leash skills, and I don't usually pull very hard, but I sometimes I see a squirrel or rabbit nearby. I am food motivated, but I haven't found anything more interesting than a squirrel yet. My adopter should live within approx. 1 hour of Worcester, MA so we can meet a few times before I move in. I know my perfect home is out there. Is it with you? Follow me on Facebook:  #EchoDogCasey For more information, please contact adoptions@echodogs.org.   Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states.
