Story

Luffy is a 31lbs, 1 year old, neutered, German Shepherd mix. Luffy was in a kennel all day and night long. He quickly found his feet and learned to walk up and down stairs and was overjoyed when he discovered what toys are. He did excellent in the bath and enjoyed a good teeth brush. He likes giving kisses and following you around with a toy wherever you go. He is house trained but much prefers you to be outside with him. I am sure he is nervous that we will leave him as he is not used to his new life of freedom. He does like to eat hangers when we are not at home. We bought some hard bones and that cured him of his hanger obsession. He is still learning that his foster family is not going anywhere at night and he does cry for a bit when in his crate. It doesn’t last long and he quietly sleeps through the night. When he hears us coming down the stairs, we can hear that tail going crazy in anticipation of seeing my five-year old. He is also so gentle and sweet with her. When a friend brought her dog over, Luffy was in heaven to have a friend his size to play with. He is full of energy and would do well with an active family with kids (age 8+). Bear is a 6 year old GSD. We’ve had him for 4 years, and adopted him from a family who had another GSD, that he was trying to dominate. We were told kids and cats were fine, but he needs to be in a family with no small children, and no cats. He needs a very active family, one with a fenced in yard. Someone who can exercise him a lot. He’s so sweet, but has started guarding behaviors with my cats, and now my daughter. I run a home daycare, and I can’t risk this behavior with the children. He’s currently on trazodone ($30/month) but with a cat-free and child-free home, and plenty of exercise, I feel like this wouldn’t be necessary. He loves people, and is very sweet. This is absolutely breaking my heart into a thousand pieces, but I’ve tried for years to reduce his stress here, and he deserves the perfect home for him.
