Story
Female - 2 years - 50 lbs - Microchipped - Spayed - DEHello! My name is Vaquita and I am a 2-year-old, 50 lb spayed female. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I currently need to be crated when I am left home alone. I do well with men, women, and older children with proper introductions. I actively seek affection and sometimes even invite myself into people’s laps for snuggles and kisses! I will welcome visitors to our home after some alert barks. I have not done well with other animals in my foster home so I will need to be the only pet. I love toys, especially ropes and balls, and my foster family has been working to teach me appropriate tug games so we can have fun together! I have fantastic agility and can easily clear a fence so I either need a yard with a tall fence or no fence where all outside activity is on leash. I ride well in the car and know some basic commands: sit, come, roll over. My leash skills are a work in progress as I am learning not to pull and that I don’t need to react whenever we see people or animals on our walks. I am rather high energy and would thrive with someone dedicated to providing plenty of mental and physical stimulation. I am a diamond in the rough ready to find my perfect adoptive family—could you be my people? Male - 2 years - 75 lbs - Microchipped - Neutered - LAHello there: My name is Jonas and I am a 2-year-old, 75 lb neutered male. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I am currently crated when left home alone so I don’t know how I’d do if left uncrated. I am a sweetheart who loves everyone I meet, including men, women, and young children. I actively seek affection and enjoy spending time with people. I do well with other dogs of all kinds and love to play! I also love playing with toys (especially my rubber ball and tug toys!) and will even play a game of fetch with you! I cannot go to a home with cats. I have been working to become a perfect adventure partner and am great in the car! I have been doing well with my leash skills and now only pull slightly. I have learned sit and would love a family willing to continue my training and teach me some new commands! I am a friendly, playful, sweet boy who would love to find my perfect adoptive family. Story
Female - 3 years - 66 lbs - Microchipped - Spayed - GAHi! My name is Klove and I am a 3-year-old, 66 lb spayed female. I am already housetrained and crate-trained, though I don’t seem to need crated when left home alone as I am nondestructive. I love people and have done well with men, women, and older children. I haven’t met any small children—I’m told I may be too rambunctious in my excitement for them. I absolutely adore receiving attention from my people in the form of butt scratches, other petting, or engagement of any kind. I eagerly welcome visitors to our home because I know they’ve come to see me! I cannot go to a home with other dogs. While I love other dogs, I am especially bad at reading their signals and can be extremely inappropriate with my play which leads to overstimulation and escalation with the other dogs. To set me up for success, my foster mom and I decided I should be the only dog in my new home. I have, however, done well with dog-savvy cats! I love, love, love ball toys and my morning fetch sessions! I would love to show you my jolly-ball so we can play together. I would do best with a fenced yard where I can safely explore and patrol for critters. I ride well in the car and have been working hard on my commands. I have learned sit, down, leave it, drop it, and to recall when you whistle! I walk well on leash with a properly utilized prong collar. I need a family committed to providing continued mental and physical stimulation as I am a busy girl! I am super excited to meet my new family, is that you? Story
Male - 5 years - 40 lbs - Microchipped - Neutered - NYHi, I’m Ricardo. I’m a 5-year-old, 40 lb neutered male. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I use my crate as a safe space mostly; I do not need to be shut in my crate when I am left home alone. I have coexisted well with adults, with a preference for women, though I am very shy and don’t seek much interaction. I will accept calm affection from my foster mom. Most of the time I am happy to people watch from afar. I will need someone willing to be patient as I come around to them and my surroundings in my new home; I had had no or minimal human contact prior to coming to Echo Dogs so this human world is all new to me and I have been trying hard to learn! I love having the company of other dogs and will require at least one confident canine companion to help guide me. I am wonderful about adjusting my play style to match that of the dog I am playing with and all around have good canine social skills. I am also gentle around cats and wouldn’t mind having feline siblings. I have been learning about these things called toys and they’re pretty fun! I especially like the plushy toys and benebones. I have been working hard on leash skills and can now join on quiet outings! I may get nervous at times and need gentle encouragement. I am still pretty uncomfortable with car rides so that is also a work in progress. I have learned to reliably come to my foster mom when she calls me. I currently take clomicalm to help me manage my anxiety. I am a gentle-natured boy who is ready to find a patient human ready to help me continue navigating this human world—could you be my human(s)? Story
Male - 1 year - 61 lbs - Microchipped - Neutered - TXHi there! My name is Daggry and I am a 1-year-old, 61 lb neutered male. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I am currently crated when left home alone. I am a friendly boy with men, women, and older children. I may display hesitancy first approaching a new man until I know him better. I am a sweet boy who is happy to engage with my humans, especially for play! I will actively seek affection and love. I can be a bit rowdy when I get excited and am likely too much for small children. I have been working hard on my canine social skills and have been doing well with a neutral, large dogs. I can be easily overstimulated by other animals so I cannot go to a home with exuberant dogs or small dogs. I enjoy toys: my favorites are balls or anything with a squeaker to be dissected. I also enjoy my Wubba toys! I am happy to play games of fetch with you! I ride well in the car after being lifted in. I am working hard on my leash skills and usually only pull slightly, and I am learning I don’t need to bark whenever we see other animals though this is a work in progress. I have learned sit, drop it, and kennel. I’m currently learning down and settle. I am currently taking fluoxetine to help stabilize my mental state while I work on my training around other animals. I am an intelligent, active boy who would love to find a family committed to continuing my training so I can become the best boy I can be! Are you my family? Story
Female - 6 years - 70 lbs - Microchipped - Spayed - PAHello! My name is Saige and I am a 6-year-old, 70 lb spayed female. I am already housetrained if kept on a schedule and am crate-trained. I don’t seem to need crated when left alone as long as the trash is inaccessible to me. I am a great cuddler and love to snuggle with my foster mom! I can be hesitant and need a few minutes to warm up when meeting new people. I am hand-shy with men and won’t allow them to pet me, so I would do best in a female-only home. I have done well with older, respectful children. I love belly rubs from my trusted people and bringing you stuffies! I have gotten along with the other dogs I’ve met while in foster and wouldn’t mind having a canine sibling in my new home. I enjoy toys such as balls or stuffies, though I am still learning how to actually play with them. I do well with the parrot in my foster home but did not do well with cats, so I cannot go to a home with cats. I like car rides and only pull slightly on lead for when we go on outings! I have already learned sit and leave it. I would love a family who will continue working with me on my basic commands. I am a sweet, happy girl ready to find my perfect adoptive family—could that be with you? Story
Kiwi is an absolute darling girl! During her time in foster care this girl was a fast favorite among our Illinois volunteer team (must be those stunning eyes!) and always soaked up the attention at our events. She sadly is being returned to our rescue after what she thought was her forever. This girl is just a big puppy and has a lot of energy. She would really love an active family who can keep up with her or a big fenced in yard she can run all those zoomies out in! After play time, she loves to snuggle, lay on comfy furniture ,and gobble up all the treats she can find! This spunky girl is crate and potty trained! Kiwi LOVES dogs, cats, and people of all ages. She is so gentle with kids and has the sweetest personality. She loves to be outside! Ready to open your heart and home to Miss Kiwi?! Fill out an application on our website https://www.tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org/ or find us on FB! Kiwi is currently being fostered in the Algonquin, IL area and would love to meet you at a private meet and greet when you have an approved application!

Anderson Humane makes no guarantees regarding medical or behavioral status of this animal, and the current owner is solely responsible for disclosing any challenges or concerns. King is a BIG baby. He loves all the attention and loves to be around people. He is very needy for love and loves to follow you everywhere. He is very smart and knows all the basic commands and even knows how to search if given a smell. He grew around children and a big family. He is very jumpy and does not realize how big he is. He does well with kids. He does not do well with other dogs. He became reactive when he was attacked by another dog. It has been an issue with my other dog and my living situation. He needs someone who can help him overcome those obstacles. He does well home alone and is house trained. He did not know what the cage was until he became reactive with dogs and couldn't be around my other dog. He does well in the crate as well. The reactivity is not bad, he just does not like when dogs approach his way. He does like little dogs and grew up with another German Shepard and a Yorkie. He still continues to live with them. Overall is a good house dog and cuddle buddy. I just want to find a good home for him.
