Story
Female - 4 years - 76 lbs - Microchipped - Spayed - OHHey there! My name is Dexter. I am a 4-year-old, 76 lb spayed female. I am already housetrained and crate-trained, though I am an old soul at heart so I will just take a deep nap while you’re gone and do not need to be crated when left home alone. I love all the pets, scratches, and snuggles from my foster parents and spending time with them! I can be avoidant at first meeting with new people. I have done well with men, women, and older children after some time to warm up! My foster parents adore me and say I am the cutest, sweetest thing they’ve ever seen (I’m not sure it’s that serious, but whatever makes them happy). I have done well with laid back, large male dogs and would enjoy a well-matched companion in my home! I tolerate other large female dogs, but I’ll be honest they’re not my favorite. Little dogs and cats are a no go for me. I haven’t shown interest in toys or playing, but my foster home has designated me the Queen of Naps™ so I would love to have access to plenty of cozy places to help me maintain my royal title. I ride well in the car once I’m lifted in and I only pull slightly on leash. I have an old break in my pelvis that had healed poorly at some point prior to my entering rescue. As a result, I have an off gait and take daily medication for pain management. I am well-managed, though I will need ongoing monitoring throughout my life. I will need regular low-impact exercise to keep me healthy and mobile! I am a sweet, sassy, goofy girl who is ready to find my family—could that be you? Story
Female - 4 months - 22 lbs - Microchipped - Spay Contract - ILHi! My name is Cindy! I am a 4-month-old, currently 22 lb female. My adoption will be conditional on my adopter having me spayed at 6 months of age, which will be end of April 2026. I am working on my housetraining and crate-training, since I am still young I should be crated when left home unsupervised! I love all people and will immediately seek affection from new friends I meet: including men, women, and young children. I am happy to welcome visitors to our home. I also enjoy spending time with other dogs and love to play chase with my foster siblings. I like to play with toys and have already mastered destuffing plush toys, which I love to do! I haven’t met any cats to know how I feel about them. I have been working on my leash skills and know not to pull, though I don’t necessarily understand to walk in a straight line yet either. I have learned  how to sit, leave it, and off on cue. I would love to find myself a family where I will get continued training and socialization as I mature—could that be with you? Story
Male - 1 year - 65 lbs - Microchipped - Neutered - OHHi there! My name is Jace and I am a 1-year-old, 65 lb neutered male. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I am currently crated when I am left home alone. I am a sweet boy with my foster parents, though it took me a while to warm up to them. I’ve spent most of my life in a kennel environment so living in a home with people was a new experience for me and I am very shy with new people. I have started seeking affection and enjoying pets from my foster parents and discovering how great it can be! I’ll need a patient, calm adopter to help me grow more comfortable around people.  I love other animals and will require a confident canine sibling in my home to help show me the ropes! I have also been around cats without issue so could have kitty siblings also. I love toys and bones! Any kind of stuffy toy that I can gently carry around is great, and I will also play tug with other dogs with a rope! I ride well in the car and only pull slightly on lead. I take food gently and would love a family who will continue my socialization so that I can grow into my most confident self! I have been learning to come to my foster parents when they call my name and know what it means to be “time for bed”! I am a sweet boy who is ready to find my perfect adoptive family—could that be with you? Story
Female - 3 years - 65 lb - Microchipped - Spayed - VAHello! My name is Tam and I am a 3-year-old, 65 lb spayed female. I am already housetrained. My crate-training is a work in progress as I currently don’t like to stay in one while you’re away. I’ve been working with my foster mom to build up my tolerance for being left home alone uncrated and am doing well! I love being pet and receiving affection from people I know! I can be a little nervous when first meeting new people, give me a little bit of space to approach you first and then we’ll be friends! I have done well with men, women, and older children. I love goofy play with my foster mom! I do well with other dogs on outings or in the yard at my foster home, but I prefer to be the only dog inside my home as I don’t reliably share my living space well with others. I have done well with the cats at my foster home and wouldn’t mind having some cat siblings! I enjoy playing with stuffed toys or chewing on hooves. I like spending time in the yard but I can easily clear a fence which is something to be aware of if my new home has a fenced yard! I have been working on building my confidence in the world around me while at my foster home and would love a home where I could join for hikes or other outdoor adventures! I walk very well on lead and ride well in the car after a little boost in! I have already learned some basic training cues such as sit, down, come, and leave it. Going for outings and training together helps me bond with my people and I am ready to bond with a family of my very own—could that be with you? Story
Female - 8 months - 45 lbs - Microchipped - Spay Contract - OHHi there! My name is Sadie and I am an 8-month-old, 45 lb female. I am already housetrained and have been working on my crate training and crating quietly. I currently do best when left gated in the laundry room when left home alone. I am friendly with men, women, and children—in fact, I feel I’ve never met a stranger! I will actively seek affection and enjoy spending quality time with my foster mom. Head scratches are my favorite! I have done well with all the other dogs I’ve met while with my foster home and love to play with other playful dogs. I am also happy to play with toys, especially balls or frisbees or squeaky toys. I have been learning how to play fetch! I cannot go to a home with cats. I was born with a minor ectopic ureter which means my urinary system was not developed correctly. This caused some incontinence which has been completely managed by Proin medication. My adoption will be conditional on my adopter taking me to be spayed at an internal medicine specialist when I am a year old, which will be in July 2026, so my adopter will need to have a specialist veterinary hospital within driving distance. The cost of my surgery will be covered by Echo Dogs. If my ectopic ureter needs any corrective surgical care, it will be completed at that time and my current doctor is hopeful I will no longer need my Proin after surgery. I have been working on some basic training and have learned how to sit, come, and drop it on cue. I only pull slightly on leash and mostly when I see something exciting. I am still working on getting more comfortable with car rides. I am a happy, loving, energetic girl who is ready to find my perfect adoptive family—could that be with you? Story
Male - 5 years - 40 lbs - Microchipped - Neutered - NYHi, I’m Ricardo. I’m a 5-year-old, 40 lb neutered male. I am already housetrained and crate-trained. I use my crate as a safe space mostly; I do not need to be shut in my crate when I am left home alone. I have coexisted well with adults, with a preference for women, though I am very shy and don’t seek much interaction. I will accept calm affection from my foster mom. Most of the time I am happy to people watch from afar. I will need someone willing to be patient as I come around to them and my surroundings in my new home; I had had no or minimal human contact prior to coming to Echo Dogs so this human world is all new to me and I have been trying hard to learn! I love having the company of other dogs and will require at least one confident canine companion to help guide me. I am wonderful about adjusting my play style to match that of the dog I am playing with and all around have good canine social skills. I am also gentle around cats and wouldn’t mind having feline siblings. I have been learning about these things called toys and they’re pretty fun! I especially like the plushy toys and benebones. I have been working hard on leash skills and can now join on quiet outings! I may get nervous at times and need gentle encouragement. I am still pretty uncomfortable with car rides so that is also a work in progress. I have learned to reliably come to my foster mom when she calls me. I currently take clomicalm to help me manage my anxiety. I am a gentle-natured boy who is ready to find a patient human ready to help me continue navigating this human world—could you be my human(s)? I have been working hard on leash skills and can now join on quiet outings! I may get nervous at times and need gentle encouragement. I am still pretty uncomfortable with car rides so that is also a work in progress. I have learned to reliably come to my foster mom when she calls me. I currently take clomicalm to help me manage my anxiety. I am a gentle-natured boy who is ready to find a patient human ready to help me continue navigating this human world—could you be my human(s)? Follow me on Facebook:  #EchoDogRicardo For more information, please contact adoptions@echodogs.org.   Echo Dogs fosters dogs in many states. Visit www.echodogs.org/available-dogs to see more of our dogs. Transportation for the adopted dog IS available. Remember, we are an all-volunteer foster rescue organization - we DO NOT have a physical shelter to visit. Our minimum adoption donation is $350. All dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and micro-chipped. Puppies under 6 months old may not be spayed/neutered. This would be the responsibility of the adopter at their own expense. Proof of spay/neuter will be required!
