Story
We got Snow as a puppy, and she is a very sweet dog, active, and she's very talkative, especially when you are delaying her from eating her food! She loves getting all the pets and is adorable when she is asking to be petted. She likes to play with toys, loves walks, and she is fast and an excellent rodent catcher (and bunnies and birds). She is trained to know sit, lay down, go potty (she is fully housetrained). Snow needs to be an "only (dog) child", as being part of a pack causes her anxiety, especially with other females. She is up to date on all of her vet care, shots, meds, etc. She would do great with someone who could walk her regularly, or lives on land where she can chase squirrels to her heart's content!

Story
🌟 Meet Astra — A Sweet and Sensitive German Shepherd Looking for Her Safe Place Astra is a beautiful 3-year-old German Shepherd with striking black-and-silver markings and a deeply sensitive heart. She has experienced trauma that has left her fearful and unsure of the world, and because of that, she needs a very specific kind of home to truly thrive. Astra was adopted and returned quickly — not because she misbehaved, but because her emotional needs require time, presence, and structure. We want to be completely transparent so her next placement can be her last. 💛 Astra’s Personality Astra is not confident or outgoing at first. She is cautious, fearful in new situations, and slow to trust. She needs consistency and calm leadership to feel safe. Once trust is built, Astra shows her true self — loyal, gentle, affectionate, and deeply bonded to her person. She is the kind of dog who will form a strong attachment and become an incredibly devoted companion. 🏠 Important Home Needs Astra must have: ✔ Someone home more often than not ✔ A calm, predictable environment ✔ A patient, experienced adopter who knows that something beautiful can take time ✔ Time to build trust at her pace — not rushed expectations Astra struggles with separation anxiety and does best when she knows her person is nearby. She is not a good fit for adopters who work long hours away from home or expect immediate independence. 🐶 With Other Animals Dogs: Calm, friendly, and submissive. A steady, confident dog could be helpful but is not required. Cats: Cat-friendly and content to coexist. 🏡 Home Manners & Training Astra is house-trained and familiar with basic commands. She responds best to structure, routine, and gentle, positive reinforcement. Confidence-building will be an important part of her continued growth. ✨ Why Astra Is Worth It Astra is a diamond in the rough. She will require patience and commitment — but once she feels safe, she is going to be an exceptional dog. The bond you build with her will be deep, meaningful, and incredibly rewarding. She is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, allowing her and her adopter time to build trust before making a lifelong commitment. If you have the time, heart, and understanding to help a scared dog heal, Astra could become the most loyal companion you’ve ever had. 🖤🤍 ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Bronco — Gentle Giant Looking for a Calm Home 🐾 Meet Bronco, a 6-year-old German Shepherd/Bullmastiff mix with a big heart and even bigger personality. This handsome boy loves snuggles, walks well on leash, and enjoys playtime with other dogs and even cats. He’s a loyal companion who thrives on one-on-one attention and is happiest in a calmer, low-stress environment. Bronco is a strong, confident dog who can be reactive in high-energy or overstimulating situations, so he would do best in a home with patient handlers and proper introductions to other dogs. He is calm when left alone and respects the home environment. Bronco is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, making it easy to see if he’s the right fit for your family before committing to adoption. Story
Harley is a 6-year-old German Shepherd/Red Heeler mix who has the whole package: calm, loyal, smart, and deeply devoted to her people. She is house-trained, crate-trained, knows her commands, and settles beautifully in the home. She enjoys her daily walks, her toys, and above all, being close to her humans. A true Velcro dog, she loves nothing more than quietly sticking by your side. Harley can be a bit reserved with men and loves to protect her human. When she is feeling unsure or scared, she may bark or growl out of fear, but with slow, positive introductions, she warms up wonderfully. In her foster home, she absolutely adores her foster dad and teenage foster brother, showing just how loving and loyal she becomes once she feels safe. She gets along with other dogs and shows herding instincts, which means she may try to herd small children as well. Because of this, a home with older kids in a cat-free is ideal. Harley is available through our Foster-to-Adopt program, giving you the chance to get to know her and see just how special she is. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will stick by your side through everything, Harley just might be your perfect match. ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Hi there&#44 Im Simba
Im an 8-year-old shepherd mix with the softest heart youll ever meet. Ive been through a bit lately - when I arrived&#44 I had a pretty rough skin infection that caused a lot of my fur to fall out. But good news... Im healing beautifully and making huge strides every day! My glow-up is well underway.

Im a gentle soul whos ready to enjoy the calmer side of life. At this stage&#44 Im not really into wild play sessions - Id much rather spend my time relaxing&#44 soaking up love&#44 and enjoying peaceful companionship. Id prefer to be the only dog so I can have all your attention&#44 but I could potentially live with a very mellow&#44 respectful dog who understands that Im not interested in roughhousing.

What I am interested in? Kind voices&#44 soft beds&#44 slow walks&#44 and someone who will love me for the sweet&#44 soulful boy I am. I have so much love to give and Im just waiting for the right person to see how special I am.

If youre looking for a loyal companion with a heart of gold and a story of resilience&#44 come meet me today - I cant wait to meet you.

Story
Cylas is 1 year old, 55 pounds, neutered, up to date on all vetting, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250. Cylas was found as a stray and brought to us when no one came forward to claim him! We cannot believe that nobody claimed him, because he is the sweetest man to walk the earth! He loves to play fetch and when he brings the ball back, he will sit on your feet and wait for you to throw it again. Cylas LOVES his people and once he gets to know you, he is bonded for life. He is quite the energetic boy at only 1 year old, so he will need a family that will give him lots of play time and take him for adventures! He does great with other dogs of all sizes and would be super happy to have a canine companion in his forever home. Cylas can jump fences so he will need to be kept on leash until he bonds to his new family, or in a home with a privacy fence. All in all, Cylas is a super handsome, silly, happy-go-lucky guy and his furever family will be so lucky to have him!

Story
Butch is 1.5 years old, he is very sweet, loves to play tug of war and fetch, and he loves to run around the yard. He is a bit timid, but warms up to people quickly. He is needing a good home with people that have space for him to run and play. I have taken him into my care temporarily, his previous owner had posted him online for rehoming due to not having the space or ability to accommodate his high energy. He is not neutered, and he is up to date on vaccines. He has some separation anxiety and is nervous in new places or around new people. He needs an experienced owner or someone that can afford training to help him gain confidence and work on his anxiety. He also needs a home that can provide him room to run, take him for walks, and other mental stimulation/enrichment. He is such a sweetie, but I cannot care for him long term.

Pet Location:Wayside Waifs CampusMy Friends at Wayside say: - I am enrolled in Waifs with Wisdom. This is a program for dogs to learn basic commands and leash walking skills. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. - Don`t be fooled by my age, I still have a lot of puppy energy!- Loves tennis balls and stuffy toys!- My previous owner said that I am house-trained. - I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. My home needs are: - I need a home without other dogs - I prefer having your attention all to myself!- I have a lot of energy and need an active adopter!- Cats are much too interesting to me, so it recommended my home be cat free.- Wayside recommends bringing your children 9 years old and younger out to meet me before adoption to make sure they enjoy my enthusiasm for life! - Recommend no apartments or shared living spaces for me- when I am in busier areas with lots of other dogs around I can be reactive on leash.Check out my super cool new video! Scroll through my photos to watch it. Hi there, I’m Xena!I’m a 6-year-old German Shepherd with a zest for life and a heart full of love. Don’t let my age fool you, I’ve still got plenty of that classic Shepherd energy and goofiness that’ll keep you smiling every day. Whether we’re going for a hike, hitting the trails, or just playing in the yard, I’m always up for an adventure with my favorite people.I’m both housetrained and crate trained, so I’ve got the basics down. What I’m really looking for now is an active home where I can stretch my legs, explore the world, and be included in your daily life. I thrive when I have a job to do, even if that job is simply being your loyal sidekick.I got to go on a field trip. I jumped right in the back seat. I rode in the car beautifully. I loved being able to stick my nose out of the windows. We only walked around Minor Park for about 30 minutes since it was already so warm. I did great. I enjoyed a sausage biscuit and an ice cream pup cup from Sonic. We went for an extended car ride after that. I had so much fun. I can`t wait to go again.I am a bit afraid of other dogs and unsure of the best way to interact with them. My friends at Wayside have been working on teaching me how to be comfortable around other dogs but for now, I`ll need a home without other dogs in it and where I don`t have to worry about going t
