Story
My name is Mimi&#44 and I am a five-year-old German Shepherd mix hoping to find a quiet&#44 loving home where I can finally relax and enjoy my golden years. I did not have the easiest start to life. I spent my early days living in a backyard with many other dogs&#44 and it was often overwhelming for me. Because of that&#44 I can be a little shy when I first meet new people. I like to take my time&#44 observe&#44 and make sure I am safe.

What I have always dreamed of is being an inside dog - a companion who gets to share a peaceful home&#44 soft places to rest&#44 and gentle moments with someone who cares. Once I begin to trust you&#44 my whole heart opens up. I become a devoted little shadow&#44 following you from room to room and finding comfort simply in being near you. Earning my trust may take a bit of patience&#44 but the bond that forms afterward is something truly special.

I am searching for a calm&#44 steady environment where I can feel secure and loved. A quieter home would help me continue to build confidence and discover what it means to be part of a family. I am ready for a second chance - one filled with kindness&#44 stability&#44 and the warmth I missed out on before.

If you are looking for a gentle&#44 loyal companion who will cherish the person who gives her a fresh start&#44 I would be honored to meet you. Come visit this sweetheart today and help me begin the life I have always deserved.

Story
Gentle Soul is the very best way to describe my personality. Hi&#44 Im Simba&#44 a senior shepherd mix with the softest heart youll ever encounter Ive been through a bit lately. My owner died&#44 and I was brought to the shelter by family who couldnt give me the life they thought I deserved. When I arrived&#44 I had a pretty painful skin infection that caused a lot of my fur to fall out. But good news... Im healing beautifully and making huge strides every day! My glow-up is well underway.

Im the sweetest boy whos ready to enjoy the calmer side of life. I do the sweetest commands - sit and shake! At this stage&#44 Im not really into wild play sessions - Id much rather spend my time relaxing&#44 soaking up love&#44 and enjoying peaceful companionship. Id prefer to be the only dog so I can have all your attention&#44 but I could potentially live with a very mellow&#44 respectful dog who understands that Im not interested in roughhousing.

What am I interested in? Kind voices&#44 soft beds&#44 slow walks&#44 and someone who will love me for the sweet&#44 loving boy that I am. I have so much love to give&#44 and Im just waiting for the right person to see how special I am.

If youre looking for a loyal companion with a heart of gold and a story of resilience&#44 come meet me today - I cant wait to meet you.

Love from Simba

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Katie – A Survivor Who’s Ready for Her Forever Home! Katie is a stunning 4-year-old German Shepherd (65 lbs) with a sleek black-and-silver coat and the gentlest heart. She has been waiting over 3 years for her forever family, and it’s time this beautiful girl finally gets the home she deserves. Katie’s life didn’t start out easy. She was rescued from a hoarding situation where 12 starving dogs were left to fight over a single bag of food tossed in once a day. As the youngest, smallest, and most submissive, Katie was attacked when she tried to eat. She became skin-and-bones, carrying scars on her side and ear, and survived by eating rocks and scraps. She likely had a litter of puppies before she was even a year old. But despite everything, Katie’s spirit shines. She is gentle, forgiving, and absolutely LOVES people—especially kids. Her favorite game is fetch, and she’s so clever she’ll roll the ball back to you when she wants another throw. Watching her play and interact is pure joy—she makes everyone around her smile. Katie has been professionally trained and is a dream companion: she walks politely on leash, rides calmly in the car, behaves wonderfully at the vet, loves her kennel, and hardly ever barks. She is affectionate, loyal, and so eager to love her people. Because of her past, Katie prefers to be the only dog in the home, where she can finally feel safe and cherished. She has already shown she can live alongside another dog with careful management(a strict kennel rotations), but her perfect forever family will let her shine on her own.Katie is:• 4 years old, 65 lbs, female• Black/silver color, stunning girl• Loving, playful, and affectionate• Amazing with kids and people of all ages• LOVE playing fetch, will roll a ball to you• Fully trained by professionals and easy to handle• Great at car rider(she loves it)• Good at vet and a glooming• A true survivor with a heart full of love• MUST be the only dog in the home• Due to high prey drive, no catKatie has waited far too long for her happily ever after. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.TOBIAS is an extreme cruelty/neglect case. When Toby was rushed to a vet shortly after arriving to MOGS, he had a body-wide skin infection (bacterial and yeast) from scratching desperately at a massive flea infestation. He had several patchy and missing areas of fur. Both of his ears were flopped over from chronic, horrible ear infections that went untreated - he actually had a trifecta infection - two different types of bacteria as well as yeast in his ears. Toby was also desperately underweight, starved to the bone, and needs to gain around 20-25 lbs. ** More Information on Tobias, Coming soon ** DOGS: CATS: KIDS: IDEAL FAMILY: If you're looking for a gorgeous, young, trainable German Shepherd who will love you forever, Tobias may be your ideal family member! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Noel is a goofy, beautiful, carefree, energetic and very loving girl who just wants to have fun. She loves playing with the other dogs, going on walks, or just generally doing whatever her foster family is doing. She's going to make someone a fantastic buddy and companion. BACKSTORYNoel came to MOGS after she was seized by animal control for cruelty. She was starved, dehydrated and left outside with no shelter. She is currently is a foster home. TEMPERAMENT / BEHAVIOR Noel is amazing. She was seized for extreme cruelty but despite her suffering she still loves people. She's a sweet little girl who is very soft, friendly and goofy. She wants to greet everyone and will be very vocal about it. She loves being in the same room with her humans and will follow everywhere. She acts as a tripping hazard since she picks the least out of the way spot to lay down, especially in the kitchen. She does tend to sniff the counter and floor for yummies but has never jumped up to grab anything. Will try her best to reach into a high chair to get leftovers but will leave it if told to. Her foster family doesn't leave things towards the edge of counters so she is not given the opportunity to steal anything. She does like to chew on stuffed animals and does not know the difference between her toys and baby's toys so her foster family does their best to just keep non-dog toys off the floor. Like most GSDs Noel is a super shedder, her fur is very thick. TRAININGShe's learning basic manners and doing very well. She is food driven which will help with her training. The first new behavior she had to practice was waiting at baby gates or backyard fences. She has climbed a fence to follow her person on the other side. With a 6 ft fence she will be fine, with a somewhat lower fence, she will need complete supervision in the backyard to avoid escaping. She sometimes jumps baby gates to be closer to her people. She is pretty good at listening and has learned the sit command. She is house broken and crate trained. She does okay on a leash and is currently walked with a combo of the martingale collar and a gentle leader for better control. She can get a bit wild and unruly when other dogs are near since she wants to go say hi and play. Her future family will need to spend the time to exercise her and stimulate her, and finish her training using good canine leadership skills. OTHER ANIMALSNoel gets along with most dogs; she just wants to play. Sometimes she plays too rough for other dogs because she is so excited. She does not seem to understand her size and she is very fast moving. Currently lives with her foster siblings, a 25lb dog and a 12lb chiweenie. Noel does seem to respect the smaller dog's space. Noel would do best with a same size and energy level doggie buddy to play and romp with. She's still got a lot of puppy in her and occasionally doesn’t notice when other dogs tell her they're tired, so you may have to remind her that play time is over. She takes correction easily and is perfectly willing to go inside and let the other dogs rest. Noel has a mild-to-moderate small prey drive and cannot be in a home with cats. PEOPLENoel does well with adults and is very good with kids. She has been very patient with the human toddler in her foster home. When the young one gets a little crazy, she for the most part handles it very well. She has learned the command 'escape' or move away from toddler reach. When she has reached her limit, she will let him know with a nudge or growl but has never shown aggression. Noel is a large, strong and energetic dog who has the potential to be too rough in play and knock a child over, or collide with a child. As with all large dogs, she must be supervised around small children just to be sure things don't get too rough. MEDICAL Up-to-date on all vaccines, has a current rabies tag, is spayed and has been microchipped. She was originally heartworm positive but has been treated and is heartworm free. Noel has a toenail that grows up and over but doesn't appear to cause her any discomfort other than when she has her nails trimmed. At some point prior to coming to MOGS, Noel suffered from a LEFT hind leg femur fracture that did not receive any treatment, so healed slightly misaligned. Because of this, she does sometimes experience discomfort in that leg and requires intermittent pain management with an anti-inflammatory pain reliever. She also receives joint supplement support on a daily basis. Noel's injured leg has been assessed by her regular vet, as well as orthopedic experts at Blue Pearl, and both experts agree this will be a chronic monitoring situation which will need intermittent pain management for life. Even though Noel has medium to high energy, this leg can sometimes significantly limit her activity due to discomfort. At those times, she will do best with short walks around the neighborhood, just not too far as she cannot handle it. Noel has no other known medical issues. If you're looking for a gorgeous, trainable furballwho will love you forever,NOEL is your girl!
