Lucy is the definition of a sweetheart. Once she meets you and gets used to you, you'll have a forever best friend! Lucy is a smart girl which is consistent with a German Shephard dog. She has the perfect amount of energy to be a great companion. Lucy does well playing with other dogs and gets along great with kids! She spent quite a bit of time in a shelter, but learned to potty outside within a day of being at a foster home. She also learned how to "sit" quickly even though it was evident she has not had training up to this point in her life. Similarly, she is just starting to discover the world of toys and has fun playing with squeaky toys but hasn't learned how to fetch them yet. She is now accustomed to sleeping in her kennel, but she would prefer to sleep with her human(s) I'm sure. Lucy is GREAT at walking on the leash and pulls little compared to similar sized dogs. She truly is a sweetheart and would make the greatest addition to almost any family! Lucy may not be well suited to being outside in a yard by herself. She is reported to have jumped a fence or 2. However, this foster mom swears that she has shown no interest at all in jumping the fence at all and happily runs back and forth with her foster siblings. Lucy would jump a fence if her humans are on the other side! If you are looking for a great medium sized, sweet companion, please consider adopting Lucy!

We adopted Keira in 2011 from the Parkville, MO animal shelter when she was 2 and a half years old. We have 2 other dogs, ages 9 and 2, that she gets along with great. She has been a great dog as she gets along with other animals and humans just fine. She loves to play and goes for walks, but is also good at being lazy.
