Story
Bronco — Loyal Gentle Giant Looking for the Right Home 🐾 Meet Bronco, a 6-year-old German Shepherd/Bullmastiff mix with a big heart and a loyal, devoted personality. This handsome boy absolutely loves people and enjoys being close to his humans. He’ll happily walk right by your side around the house and soak up all the attention he can get. Bronco is a smart, confident dog who enjoys walks, tasty treats (especially dehydrated sweet potatoes and pig ears!), and taking his time sniffing the world around him. He can pull a bit on leash and show a stubborn streak at times, but with consistent redirection he becomes an easy and enjoyable walking companion. He has previously lived with both dogs and cats, and he does well with cats. When meeting other dogs, Bronco may try to be the dominant personality. With proper introductions, structure, and the right canine companion, he has the potential to coexist successfully. Bronco is happiest in a calm, low-stress environment where he can bond closely with his people. He does well when left alone and respects the home environment. Because Bronco has shown some resource guarding with food and bones, his future family should be mindful of managing high-value items and providing structure around feeding and treats. His interactions with children are unknown, so a home with experienced handlers and thoughtful supervision around food or chews will help set him up for success. Bronco is: • 🐾 Extremely people-loving and affectionate • 🚶 Enjoys walks and exploring smells • 🐱 Good with cats • 🐕 May do well with the right dog companion and proper introductions • 🏡 Calm and respectful in the home • 🦴 A big fan of tasty treats like sweet potatoes and pig ears Bronco is a devoted companion who will thrive with an adopter who understands large, confident dogs and can provide structure, patience, and love. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Bronco may be the perfect match. 💙🐾 P.S. Story
Harley is a 6-year-old German Shepherd/Red Heeler mix who has the whole package: calm, loyal, smart, and deeply devoted to her people. She is house-trained, crate-trained, knows her commands, and settles beautifully in the home. She enjoys her daily walks, her toys, and above all, being close to her humans. A true Velcro dog, she loves nothing more than quietly sticking by your side. Harley can be a bit reserved with men and loves to protect her human. When she is feeling unsure or scared, she may bark or growl out of fear, but with slow, positive introductions, she warms up wonderfully. In her foster home, she absolutely adores her foster dad and teenage foster brother, showing just how loving and loyal she becomes once she feels safe. She gets along with other dogs and is in foster with dogs of various sizes and personalities. She may show herding instincts, so a home with older children and no cats would be best for her. Harley is available through our Foster-to-Adopt program, giving you the chance to get to know her and see just how special she is. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will stick by your side through everything, Harley just might be your perfect match. ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Marley — A Loyal 8-Year-Old German Shepherd Who Just Wants Stability Again Marley is an 8-year-old purebred German Shepherd who has known love her entire life. Her owner had her from puppyhood and surrendered her only because he was facing eviction after noise complaints in their apartment — he truly had no other choice. Marley is a sensitive, intelligent dog who thrives with structure, routine, and quiet. She will do best in a house (not an apartment) where she can decompress, settle, and feel secure. 💛 General Personality & Home Life Marley is affectionate, loyal, and very bonded to her people. She loves having a predictable rhythm to her day and aims to please. She is house trained, not protective of her things toward humans, and knows several commands. 🐶 Behavior With Other Dogs Marley does have specific needs around other dogs. We believe Marley would do best as the only dog living in the home. Leash Behavior • Leash reactive — she will bark, growl, or lunge if dogs get too close. Marley is not aggressive. She is fearful and demonstrates her big emotions through these behaviors. • Will need patient, structured leash work with positive reinforcement and space on walks Dog-to-Dog Interactions • Previously went to dog parks but began resource guarding toys • Has done well with dogs her size in controlled settings without resources, however we are recommending as an only dog due to guarding history, until we can better understand Marley’s needs. 🐱 Cats Marley previously lived with a cat successfully. We always recommend slow and thoughtful introductions to feline friends. 🐕‍🦺 Kennel Stress Being in a kennel and away from her humans is hard on Marley. Marley would thrive with an adopter who is home most of the time or who can provide a very secure kennel set up. 🌟 What Marley Needs in an Adopter Marley will thrive with: • A house with a yard (no apartments) • An experienced German Shepherd or working-breed home • A dog-free household (may do okay with monitored playtime after slow patient introductions with familiar friends, her size or larger. But we believe she would do best to not live with another dog) • Continued training for leash reactivity • A stable, predictable environment • Someone who appreciates the loyalty and sensitivity of shepherds 💛 Marley Is Ready for a Soft Landing After eight years of routine, love, and stability, Marley is overwhelmed in the shelter and desperate for a quiet home to feel safe again. If you understand shepherds and want a devoted, intelligent companion, Marley might be the dog who gives you her whole heart. ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. 🐈🐱🐈 Cat-friendly 🐈🐱🐈 Forget that whole “be still my heart” thing. We don’t want our heart to be still – we want it pumping with happiness and excitement, because we loooooove a friendly dog! 🐾 🐶 🐾 💓 Corazon 💓 is just the kind of heart-starter we’re talking about, and he has that special somethin-somethin at a young age that makes you know he’s gonna be a terrific companion. He is a 5-month-old German Shepherd mix, and we think he’ll be around 60 pounds full grown. He starts out kinda shy, so give him a little bit to warm up when you first meet him. He is social in a gentle way, and he likes to be playful and active. All of the toys are on his favorites list, from hard chew toys to soft squeakers, so you can’t go wrong when you’re toy shopping. He’ll make playtime fun and cute no matter who’s involved. Corazon likes all people once he gets acquainted, getting along equally well with kids and adults. He’s great with other dogs as well, and would love to live somewhere that he can have a regular canine playmate or two – either in his house, nearby, or in the family. He also does just fine with cats. He sits on command, and he walks well on a leash already. He is crate trained, and he’s getting better with house training every day. If your heart is already going pitter-patter, wait until you hear about how cuddly Corazon is with his favorite people. Gah, he’s the best! You will forever have a shadow, as he’ll follow you wherever you go and whatever you’re doing – very helpful when you need a supervisor to keep you on task. 🛠️🔩 🧰 Corazon will come home to you neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, as well as current on flea/tick prevention and heartworm preventative. His adoption fee is $275. Meet & greets will be scheduled with approved adopters from PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
Valorie is still just a young girl, but she’s been through so much. There’s a reason we spell her name the way we do: She has displayed a lot of valor. We are bound and determined to turn Valorie’s life around so she can experience the love of people and know that she is safe and cared for, furever. Valorie came to us with not one but two broken legs. She is now healed from her second surgery, and the vets think she’ll be able to run, play and jump like a regular dog with no lasting physical effects. However, because the injuries happened at the hands of humans, she still bears some emotional scars. Here are some things that bring her joy: 🐕🐩🐕 Other dogs! She loves them so purely and trusts them completely 💦💧💦 Water. She plays in the creek at her foster’s house and has a blast, and she doesn’t mind the rain or storms at all. 🌤🌷🌳 Being outside. She wants to go, go, go, whether she’s in the yard or on a leash walk. 🚗 Car rides 🌭🍔🍦Food and treats – the way to Valorie’s heart is through yummy eats 🤸‍♀️ 🐾 😴 Her energy level will match your energy – from adventure time to lazy time She knows sit, down, come, kisses & kennel and is learning more basic commands. Walks are exciting, & she pulls a little at first, then settles into a nice pace with you. She is house-trained and bell-trained, & she sleeps in her crate at night. Valorie is very gentle with kids who are respectful to dogs and who know that she will need space at first. Then, she will love and protect them hard. So kids are fine but cats are a 'no' for this girl. She is bashful because of her past and may startle at sudden noises and movements, especially at first. She will need some time – likely days or even weeks – to acclimate to her new home, before many new people or visitors start showing up. Valorie will continually remind you what life is all about and keep you focused on all the joys there are to behold. Want to be her forever hero? Apply to adopt her today. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped, plus current on preventatives for heartworm and flea/tick. Her adoption fee is $175. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

💙 💛 🖤 💚 ❤️ Cue the music. On your marks, get set, race! We hope you get a good launch off the starting line, because the competition is going to be world-class to meet these gold-medal-winning* puppies. Here is the Olympic Litter: Alpine (F), Curling Kari (F), Jumping JuJu (M), Nordic (M) and Olympic Oko (M). Their mama is a purebred German Shepherd, and dad is a mystery. They’ll be large dogs, likely 65+ pounds. *They aren’t actually gold medalists. But we think they should be in contention for any number of international prizes 🏆 like Best Fluffy Run, Cutest Puppy-Dog Eyes and Most Adorable Napping. If you want to dispute any of these, you can take your allegations straight to the Puppy Dog Governing Body. 🥇🥇 These pups have learned so much in their own Olympic Village, a.k.a. foster home, being socialized and exposed to people and other dogs. They are ready to compete at the next level for year-round training on how to be the best dog in the world. And you can be the one cheering them on! Each of them will come to you spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines and microchipped, plus current on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. Their adoption fee is $275. Story
Everybody in the pool! Wrong season, we know, but Ainsley is incredibly sweet with everyone she meets, so let’s all jump in together and have a great time. We don’t actually have to get in the pool, but if we did, Ainsley would come too. Her foster family took her to their personal pup’s swim session and let Ainsley try. She jumped right in and loved it – and she learned a swim skill in just a few minutes! Ainsley is an 1 year-old German Shepherd mix, and she has a lot of confidence being introduced to new things and new people. She is also S-M-A-R-T and wants to accumulate all the knowledge and training she possibly can. That tracks, with her breed. But her amazing personality is the icing on the cake. She’ll probably be 50-55 lbs. full grown. Ainsley is wonderful on the leash, and she comes when she’s called. She also knows sit, outside and kennel and is learning new stuff every day. Her active foster family introduced her to agility contacts, and she eagerly ran through them. She would love to get involved with a sport or higher-level training activity to fill up her little mind. If the swimming skill and the agility attempts are any indication, she’ll be a terrific student of any game. She loves to play fetch with a ball and enjoys chew toys like antlers and buffalo horns. She’ll need an active home and would do well to live with a dog to be her playmate, but it’s not a requirement if the humans do daily activities she can join. She wants to do whatever her humans are doing, and she’s eager to please. Her foster family says they love absolutely everything about her, so her lucky furever family will too! Ainsley gets along great with other dogs and with cats. She is house trained and crate trained. She is capable of jumping a 4-foot fence. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and current on heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention. Her adoption fee is $275. To meet her, get approved to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org, and her foster family will be in touch. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤
