Story
Update from foster 1/17: Rhiannon is very sweet! Loves kids! Walks well on the leash and takes treats nicely! Loves car rides! CANNOT be around other animals, however, just wants to play ball in the back yard and lay on the couch! Sits! Stay! Lays! Meet beautiful Rhiannon. She was left at the vet's office by her owner who never came for her...she sustained an injury to her foot and a cut on her side (which has completely healed). She loves to play ball and loves all of her toys, especially carrying around and flipping her metal food bowl around. It's hilarious to watch her. No aggression with toys or food. She is very loving and playful. She will do best without other animals in the home. Rhiannon is just 2 years old and she has been spayed. She gets super excited when meeting new people but calms quickly. She is a smart girl and knows some commands. She is high energy and needs an experienced handler. She has been trained by Apple Jacks K9 in Charlotte Hall and her training classes go with her for the new owner to attend as part of her adoption fee. If interested, please fill out an application first at www.rescueangelssomd.com. WE ADOPT WITHIN 100 MILE RADIUS TO US ONLY. If listed, she is still available. All dogs receive vet care before adoption, including spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, Heartworm/Lyme/Ehrlichia 4DX snap test, deworming, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and microchip. Indoor homes only and we expect all dogs to be family members. Adoption fee applies and adoption application required.

Story
We’re looking to rehome our loving August aka “foxy baby” to a family who can give her the time and energy she deserves. She’s a wonderful dog with a big heart she loves to play, especially with lacrosse balls, and she’s always ready for a cuddle or a good belly rub. She’s great with adults and kids and truly thrives when she’s around people. She’s a high-energy girl who would do amazing in a home with children or anyone who enjoys being active and giving lots of attention. Unfortunately, we just can’t keep up with her energy needs, and we want her to have the kind of home where she can really shine. If you or someone you know is looking for a loyal, playful, and affectionate companion, please reach out. She truly is a great dog she just needs the right family to grow with. 💛🐾

Female, 1 yr 1 mo
Alexandria, VA
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Current Location: Accokeek, MD Macey is a shy girl with a soft heart. She starts timid but leans in for affection once she feels safe. She is gentle, submissive, and likes the comfort of kind people and friendly dogs. ENERGY AND PERSONALITY She is skittish in new situations and needs a patient home that moves slow and builds trust. She warms up faster to women and needs more time with men. She is underweight and needs steady care and love. She enjoys backyard zoomies and relaxed time inside. She settles well once her energy is out. TRAINING AND BEHAVIOR Macey is doing well with crate training, house training, and leash work. She responds well to food and praise. She understands no and is learning sit, leave it, and stay. She has not needed much correction because she tries hard to figure out what you want. SOCIAL LIFE She loves other dogs and feels braver when she has a dog friend to follow. She enjoys exploring the yard and watching the world at her own pace. She likes meeting new people once she has time to assess and relax. BEST HOME FIT Macey will thrive in a quiet home with patient adults or older kids. A gentle dog companion would help her confidence grow. She is sweet, loving, and loyal. She needs someone who will give her space, time, and steady reassurance.
