Story
Update from foster 1/17: Rhiannon is very sweet! Loves kids! Walks well on the leash and takes treats nicely! Loves car rides! CANNOT be around other animals, however, just wants to play ball in the back yard and lay on the couch! Sits! Stay! Lays! Meet beautiful Rhiannon. She was left at the vet's office by her owner who never came for her...she sustained an injury to her foot and a cut on her side (which has completely healed). She loves to play ball and loves all of her toys, especially carrying around and flipping her metal food bowl around. It's hilarious to watch her. No aggression with toys or food. She is very loving and playful. She will do best without other animals in the home. Rhiannon is just 2 years old and she has been spayed. She gets super excited when meeting new people but calms quickly. She is a smart girl and knows some commands. She is high energy and needs an experienced handler. She has been trained by Apple Jacks K9 in Charlotte Hall and her training classes go with her for the new owner to attend as part of her adoption fee. If interested, please fill out an application first at www.rescueangelssomd.com. WE ADOPT WITHIN 100 MILE RADIUS TO US ONLY. If listed, she is still available. All dogs receive vet care before adoption, including spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, Heartworm/Lyme/Ehrlichia 4DX snap test, deworming, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and microchip. Indoor homes only and we expect all dogs to be family members. Adoption fee applies and adoption application required.

Story
Look at that smile! King is a very lovable boy who does well with older kids and other dogs. He is young and learning boundaries, as well as basic obedience, so he can be nippy and overpowering with young children. He needs a confident handler to teach him good manners. He loves to run around and play fetch but can also enjoy a good snuggle and belly rub. He is house broken and crate trained. We still need to neuter King which we are in the process of scheduling - he is a 1 year old black and tan German Shepherd Dog mix. He weighs approximately 66 pounds. King loves being the class clown. He is full of youthful energy and loves doing zoomies, but his favorite thing is flopping over at your feet for belly rubs and love. He enjoys a game of fetch, but after 5-10 minutes he's ready to chill out, go for a walk, or just hang out with you. King is young, so he'll need his new family to dedicate time to basic obedience and leash training. There's no doubt that once King settles into his new home, he will bring you joy each and every day with his silly personality. King is a fun boy who likes to play fetch with tennis balls and return to you to throw them again. He knows 'sit' and is very smart. King is a curious boy who constantly wags his tail. He is dog friendly. He likes pets and affection and will be a great family member as he has a lot of personality. For adoption applications please go to www.rescueangelssomd.com.

Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13623Hi! Look at this sweet face!My name is Abby and I came to OPH on 5/17/24. I’m guessed to be an 16 week-old German Shepherd breed dog. I’m a sweet girl and currently weigh 25lbs, but I'm growing! I am good with kids, dogs and cats.I am crate trained and working on house training.I’m a sweet pup making my way up north in search of my forever family. I'm searching for…- Someone who won't leave me home alone for more than 4 hours, at least not until I am older. The older I am, the more I can stay home alone. I just don't want you to get mad at me if I have accidents or chew things I'm not supposed to when you leave me for too long. I'm a puppy, so I get bored quickly and when I'm bored I could get in trouble.- I am looking for my forever home, not my for right now home. So as I get bigger I need someone to teach me how to be the best dog I can be. I am young and still learning. You may want to teach me some new tricks like sit, stay, etc. Professional training will help me bond with you. That sounds like fun!- I saved the most important for last. I am hoping my new mom or dad will snuggle with me, play with me and love me forever and ever! Please note that because this puppy is so young, it has only received 2 of the required 3 puppy distemper vaccines. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that the immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. Until then, the puppy MUST stay out of public places where it could be exposed to the germs of other dogs. These no puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for the puppy’s medical safety and longevity. This puppy is microchipped and up to date on age appropriate vaccines and monthly preventatives.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mocha is a 4 y o red and black spayed female German Shepherd. She is up to date on vaccines and weights about 100 lbs but needs to lose a few pounds. Mocha is very social and gives kisses upon greeting. She is a sweet girl but is an assertive dog. She will need a confident, but not a dominant handler. Mocha will benefit from continued training to include basic obedience, exposure, and socialization, will allow her to become a stable and confident dog who will be comfortable in any situation. Mocha has a high prey drive—no squirrel will be safe! She was not reactive to other dogs in the test neighborhood. Mocha rides well in the car and enjoys the water and swimming. Her perfect home would be one without cats, older children, and an only dog. We are looking for an experienced adopter who understands breed and temperament. An adopter who will commit to necessary training and truly wants to work to expand their knowledge and experience while working to shape behavior into a stable and confident German Shepherd. If you have experience with the breed, are looking to spend time working and training a beautiful dog who already has some wonderful qualities, we would love to answer any questions you might have about Mocha. Please visit http://bit.ly/Adoption-TRD for information about our adoption process. Inquiries for additional information can be sent toinfo@trainingresscues.org. Please be aware, meet and greets are only scheduled for approved adopters.       Please either check back for updates or email us for more information.  Please visit http://bit.ly/Adoption-TRD for information about our adoption process. ***Training Rescue Dogs is different from other rescues in the following ways: (1) training is required with one of our approved trainers under the adoption contract and (2) the rescue will match the adopter with the most appropriate dog for the respective family situation. The training requirement is with one of the Rescue’s approved trainers. The training contract is between the adopter and the trainer and is not included in the adoption fee and must be signed prior to or at the time of adoption. Each foster dog is evaluated by an experienced, professional behaviorist. The Rescue does this in order to understand the temperament of the dog and also to be able to match the dog with the best possible family. Meet and greets are only scheduled for approved adopters. All of our dogs are living in private foster homes so we attempt to minimize disruptions to our foster families by limiting meetings to those have completed the application process and been approved.
