NOTE: This is a courtesy/cross post for another rescue, for more info or to adopt Honey, please contact JoAnn at adoptacatinquiry@gmail.com. Thank you for considering this super sweet boy. Introducing Honey: Your Whimsical Canine Companion! Greetings, kind souls of the human realm! My name is Honey, and I'm here to sprinkle a little magic into your life. At approximately 2 years young, I stand before you, a mesmerizing blend of Rhodesian Ridgeback and Shepherd, weighing in at a charming 50 pounds. I must confess, while I get along famously with other dogs and cats, my heart truly belongs to humans. I am what they call a "velcro" dog, a loyal companion through thick and thin. I yearn to be by your side, to feel the warmth of your presence, and to bask in the love you generously bestow upon me. Cuddling is my forte, and they say I'm a sound sleeper with a gentle snore (though I remain skeptical). When it comes to little humans, I am a paragon of patience. I don't mind their curious touches on my face; in fact, I find it endearing. I'm not one to invade personal space, and I refrain from excessive licking. My gentle nature knows no bounds. As for my skills, I'm currently mastering the art of sitting, staying, and walking gracefully on a leash. I must admit, bustling streets with fast cars aren't my cup of tea; I prefer the tranquility of quiet trails where the scent of adventure beckons. When nature calls, I'll politely guide you to the door, a true canine etiquette aficionado. Oh, and treats and toys? Count me in! I'm the perfect blend of couch snuggler and adventurous hound, but do keep in mind that I thrive on daily walks. A quick 5-minute stroll won't do—I crave meaningful jaunts! In the grand tapestry of life, I am the missing thread, the one that will weave joy, love, and enchantment into your days. If you seek a faithful canine companion to share your journey, look no further than Honey. Contact us today to bring a touch of magic into your home and heart! If you are interested in finding out more about this very sweet boy, contact JoAnn at adoptacatinquiry@gmail.com For more info, or to adopt Honey, fill out this application, https://animalangelaid.org/adopt/ Thank you for opening your heart & home to a deserving homeless animal.

ESTIMATED WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 50 lbs KNOWN WITH DOGS: Ozzie does very well with other dogs KNOWN WITH CATS: Ozzie has not met a cat yet so we're not sure! KNOWN WITH KIDS: Ozzie has met and seems to enjoy humans of all ages. KNOWN COMMANDS: He knows "sit," and is eminently trainable, as you can see, he was even comfortable on a boat! KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Ozzie has been doing a wonderful job with house and crate training! KNOWN LIKES: Treats. Exercise. Mental and physical exercise. Dogs of all sizes. People of all ages. KNOWN DISLIKES: none known! From Ozzie's foster mom: "Ozzie is the most friendly dog ever! Still have not heard him bark yet. He eats all his food and loves treats and playing. He also loves cuddles! He is doing well in his crate, he will cry a couple minutes but that's it. Ozzie is learning his name and loves when you yell it multiple times and let him run into your arms! He also seems to be housetrained, does great with my dog and did very well at the groomer's getting his nails trimmed. :) Ozzie has been wonderful. Ozzie was cautious the first night, and then has settled in very well! I walk Ozzie together with my husky 3x daily except Wednesday night. I used a body harness on our walks. He pulls a bit but stops with slight tug on leash. He loves to sniff everything on our walks and sometimes lingers on interesting aromas. Ozzie has met deers, foxes, and geese. He was most curious about the geese, and barked at the deer and foxes. Ozzie likes to greet dogs and humans on our walks but does not pull or bark at them, ie, not reactive at all. Ozzie loves to do zoomies when he's in the backyard and wrestle with my husky. They play quite well together. Ozzie is quite capable of self entertaining with squeaky toys and tennis balls. He has not quite got the concept of bringing balls or toys back when we play fetch. :) My husky doesn't get it either. Ozzie would prefer pickup toy/ball and zoom around yard until my husky tackles him. Ozzie loves food and follows me whenever he sees me walking toward the kitchen. He does not counter surf. He is very polite when given treats. He has want to be petted and hugged. He sometimes would also try to sneak in between me and my husky whenever I kiss and hug my husky. He was excellent when he was crated while I was at work. I didn't crate Ozzie on Wednesday and he didn't soil in the house while I was away for 8 hours. He spent day playing with my husky, and nap when I checked my home camera. So far he's still afraid of the open staircase at my house. He has been sleeping on his bed and outside of the crate since Tuesday." Story
Sarah is a beautiful girl looking for love. She is great with other dogs including the small dogs in her foster home. She loves attention, pets and play time. She is housebroken, crate trained and even knows some basic commands. She rides well in the car. She can be timid when she meets new people but treats are the way to her heart and she warms up quickly. There are few things as exciting in life as dinner time for this girl. She wants nothing more then to be loved on and love someone back with her whole heart. She was born with a congenital heart defect (PDA) but thankfully following a successful lifesaving heart surgery she is expected to have a long and healthy life with no restrictions or medications. Sarah has had a long journey to where she is now from outdoor shelter life to surgery to thriving in her foster home and next stop is a forever home of her very own! Thank you for your interest in Sarah! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=17124 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Sarah, or to submit an online application. HART adopts to the local DC/VA/MD metro area only. Visit our website for more information about our adoption process.
