Story
Calvin is a very handsome German Shepherd who was born September 2022 and weighs approximately 60 pounds. He is shy at first with strangers but warms up quickly. He's good with other dogs and has very nice manners. This sweet boy is looking for love and once he knows you he will love you and you will definitely love him. To see Calvin by APPOINTMENT ONLY, submit an online dog adoption application at http://hsfc.org/adoptions/applications/online/. An adoption counselor will contact you--typically within three business days--to discuss with you the type of dog you are looking for and to see whether we have a good match for you. Our counselor will discuss the next steps afterward. Our dogs and horses are NOT at the HSFC shelter at 4057 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA--only our cats, birds, rabbits, and small mammals can be visited there. Our dogs and horses are housed at our private farm in Centreville.

Story
Bentley is 2 years old and is a sweet German Shepherd. He has experience with other pets (dogs and cats), well behaved, trained in German, and is always down to have fun outside. He’s leashed trained, crate trained, and E collar trained. I’m looking for someone that’s able to give him more time than I can. He comes with a lease, service dog vest, pinch collar, E collar, canopy bed, and 1 MONTH OF FOOD. He’s also experienced with eating 100% raw food, but currently he’s eating UnKibble

Story
Torvi was sold to me in 2020 as an executive protection dog/service dog when she was 4 years old by a business named CQB K9. The owner of the business passed away last year and it’s now dissolved. Torvi has never been able to go out in public: she’s not good on a leash, tries to attack smaller animals and won’t listen to commands in a public space. I’m trying to rehome her so I can make room for a well-trained service dog through a reputable agency or veterans charity. Torvi is good with children, larger animals and the cat we live with. She obeys commands at home and would make a great guard dog.

Story
Kiara is a rescue from Ukraine whose owners came to the U.S. to escape the war. They have since returned home and had to make the difficult decision that Kiara would have a better and safer life if she stayed in the U.S. She is now being fostered in Springfield, VA, looking for a forever home. Kiara is a sweet and gentle 6-year-old, 55-lb mixed breed. She is extremely loving, obedient, and playful. She gets along with other dogs in her foster home, but her dream is to be the only dog to soak up all the attention from her adopter(s). She has a medium energy level and enjoys leisurely walks as much as she enjoys relaxing by your feet at home. She is smart and very treat-motivated—a quick learner and eager to please. She is vocal when anyone arrives, so she would not be a good fit for an apartment. She is good with kids, but loud noises or sudden movements can startle her, so she would do best in a quiet home without small children. She's been through so much and deserves a loving home.
