Are you looking for a loyal, clever, and loving dog? Zelda, a beautiful German Shepherd mix estimated to be 4 years old and weighing 54 lbs, is searching for her new forever home. Her current family is heartbreakingly looking for a new placement where she can truly thrive due to her specific environmental needs.
Zelda is an incredibly affectionate and goofy dog who absolutely loves human company. She is great with both adults and older children, and she will constantly make you laugh with her silly personality. She is also highly intelligent and eager to learn; if you enjoy training, Zelda will amaze you with how quickly she picks up new cues.
Her Favorite Activities:
Snuggling: She is a true cuddle bug who absolutely loves curling up and snuggling with her humans.
Outdoor Adventures: She is a fantastic travel partner who loves car rides. In quiet, trigger-free areas, she thoroughly enjoys hiking in the woods and mountains, exploring her surroundings, and going for a swim!
Playtime: Nothing makes her happier than chasing and playing with her favorite tennis balls.
Home Manners & Health:
House-Trained: Zelda is fully house-trained and behaves very well when left home alone for a few hours.
Health Status: She is fully vetted, healthy, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and receives monthly Symparica Trio preventative care.
Her Quirky Habit: Zelda is a skilled "counter-surfer." If food is left unattended on the kitchen counter, she will happily help herself. A household that keeps a tidy kitchen will easily manage this quirk.
Ideal Home & Special Needs:
Because Zelda becomes highly reactive when she sees other dogs or animals, she must be the only pet in the household. She needs an experienced, confident owner who can guide her through these reactive moments on leash. Due to her activity level and her need for a safe space to play without encountering other animals, a home with a securely fenced yard in a quiet neighborhood is ideal for Zelda.
