Story
3/10/22: Nova now needs a new experienced foster home or forever home as the only dog. She did great with adopter's 2 adult dogs but now at 9 mos. old she wants to the top alpha dog at home. With her people she is very sweet smart attentive treat motivated and loves snuggling. She needs to be the only dog in home. No other dog or cats in home. From her foster/adopters: She is a big active girl who loves walks playing fetch and splashing around in her kiddie pool. Nova was originally adopted by her foster family who have had her since she was 9 weeks old and absolutely adore her. Unfortunately despite growing up with their other dogs and doing great with them as a small puppy as she grew to be the largest member of the pack she became reactive toward other dogs. Her family has worked with trainers on this issue. She is a very smart girl and is improving in public settings. Unfortunately Nova is just not well-suited for life in a multi-dog household. Nova is cuddly and lovable with her people. She is a highly trainable girl as she is very food-motivated and a fast learner. She has been through puppy training and excelled in agility activities. She does well in a crate. Nova is a sweet girl who just needs some solo attention. She would do well with an experienced handler in a home with no other animals or small children. https://photos.app.goo.gl/ejWd5yRDRpNBCQCt8 Below is from Nova's original posting in 2021: We took in Nova from a kind lady that rescued her mom from a field in Bakersfield. Mom was starved and very skinny. Most likely dumped. Soon mom gave birth to one puppy. The guardian took her mom to her vet and had x-rays done and no other pups. Nova is very special. Lady that found her already has 2 dogs (one senior dog with medical needs) and busy work schedule so she asked us to take in Nova to ensure her puppy training care and socials. Nova is doing great at her foster home. She has huge paws double rare dew claws fluffy and very sweet. Not sure what breed mix she is. Mom is 60 lbs and very sweet. She will need a home with yard prefer another dog at home and experience with large dogs. Nova will be ready in 2-3 weeks after all her vet care. More info. to come. 8/21/21 update: It took her 4-5 days to start playing with foster home's dog. Will chase the ball and chewing. Does like to dig. Loves food and treats. Going out to yard for potty biz and few accidents inside.April 16, 2024, 1:30 am

Story
Meet Sofia, a super smart, happy and playful Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees pup. Sofia would love to find her furever home with an active family, kids and another dog would be a bonus! Sofia is currently in a foster home, and they say she is an amazing pup! She is so sweet and friendly. Within one week of fostering her, she has learned to go to the bathroom outside, she has learned to be gentle if she mouths and when she does, she responds quickly to a "no. She is happy with her bully stick and has not chewed any household items. She is not a barker. She is such a love bug and enjoys cuddling but is also independent. She sleeps in her crate (we call it her condo) and sleeps through the night. We have had friends come over to visit and she's happy to see people and is quite friendly when they arrive. She really is the perfect dog! Sofia is a large breed dog, and will be approx to be 55-75 lbs as an adult. If interested in meeting please fill out an application at Jellysplace.org Sofia is spayed and will be microchipped and fully vaccinated as part of the adoption process.

Story
Luke Skywalker is a sweet, gentle young Great Pyrenees mix who is out of this world.&#10&#10This big guy with fluffy white coat is a little shy at first but quickly finds his footing with new people.&#10Luke is sweetly indulgent with other dogs including little ones, and should be fine with kids, too.&#10Misbehaving is an alien concept to Luke, he`s such a good boy. On walks, his protective instincts only tell him to move closer to you if a bicyclist whizzes by. &#10Luke is currently taking a break from the shelter in a foster home. If you think you might like to adopt him, just give us a call at (510) 337-8565, and we`ll arrange a meeting at warp speed.

Story
No kids for Finn. He needs a predictable environment and to stay home with adults, and mostly being an outdoor dog. People with some land and with a lot of experience with the breed as well as patience to let Finn adjust in a calm home environment. No hovering - hugging- pushing or pulling until a significant amount of time has past for his comfort and adjustment. SLOW and steady for Finn, he needs to build trust, he is a friendly, beguiling fellow, but has territorial issues, and some handling issues to where he doesn't like strangers hugging him and that kind of thing. A life outdoors with a covered, protected area and people going about their days, he will follow around, engage, tail wagging and happy! He is intelligent, and knows how to "Sit," "Shake" and "Down." He is good with other dogs, and loves to play.
