Story
Meet Quinn — Your Gentle Giant Looking for His Perfect Match Quinn is a big-hearted Great Pyrenees mix with a calm, steady nature and a loving personality. He bonds closely with his people and thrives in a peaceful, predictable home. Quinn is wonderful with humans — attentive, affectionate, and happiest when he’s being petted, brushed, or simply hanging out nearby. He’d do well with an individual, a couple, or a family with older kids (10+). He’s also great with other animals. Quinn lives harmoniously with a smaller resident dog and has done beautifully in a kennel environment around many other dogs. He has also been respectful and appropriate with a household cat. True to his breed mix, Quinn enjoys spending time outdoors. He currently sleeps in a heated garage in his crate and loves cool weather, relaxing outside, and observing the world around him. He doesn’t dig or chew, but he will happily bark at squirrels, geese, turkeys, or unfamiliar people approaching the yard — classic Pyrenees watchdog behavior. On walks, Quinn does well with a gentle leader and is generally easy to manage, though he may need a reminder if wildlife catches his eye. He knows “sit” and “stay,” and while “come” isn’t his strongest skill yet, he tries his best. Quinn is a sweet, loyal, low-maintenance dog who will make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a big, gentle presence in their life. If you think Quinn might be your perfect match, we’d love for you to meet him. ##1916971##

Story
Approx. 3 year-old male Great Pyrenees mix. Weighs ~130lb. Adopted at about 12-18 mo old. His foster said he was found roaming in ag fields and neighborhoods in CA Central Valley. Good with family members, affectionate and attentive to his 2 owners. Likes human attention, especially petting and brushing. Could be good with an individual, a couple or a family with 10+ year old children. Good with other dogs. Gets along well with our other dog, a much smaller (60lb) Pyrenees/Shepherd mix. When out of town we take him to a kennel with large pens with 15-20 dogs. He does fine in that setting. He has also done well with our pet cat. Has been an outdoor dog at our house. Likes being outside. Seems to enjoy cold weather, although is fine in summer weather. Spends most evenings inside with us in enclosed patio. Sleeps at night in heated garage in crate with door open. Good on a gentle leader leash. Walking him is pretty easy. OK at sit and stay. Not so good at come.

Story
Raya is a beautiful female Great Pyrenees who was found running loose in Richmond, CA. Raya was very scared and timid when she first came to Jelly's and wouldn't leave her kennel or take treats from staff and volunteers. She has made a lot of progress and now happily comes out of her kennel and enjoys going to the yard where she plays with stuffed animals and munches on treats. Raya is a true example of her breed. She let's you know if a stranger walks nearby and is a great protector. Raya is NOT for a first time dog owner. She needs extra time meeting new people or being in new environments, so would do best in a quiet, all adult peaceful, predictable home with no other animals. Raya will be spayed, UTD on vaccines and microchipped as part of the adoption process. If you would like to meet Raya, apply at jellysplace.org/forms

Story
Leo is a drop dead gorgeous Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever. He was adopted as a puppy and surrendered to a kill shelter for a bite related to resource guarding. We have seen very few incidents of resource guarding here and have worked with him so that he realizes he does not need to guard his food or important things. Leo is a happy, active, friendly boy. He is super smart and LOVES participating in our informal agility course and solving puzzles. He has a calm, almost regal presence about him which makes other dogs respect him and leave him alone. He seems to prefer calmer female dogs to.play with and has lived with cats. He LOVES playing in the water, taking hikes, chasing a frisbee or rolling on his belly for rubs from his favorite people. He is great riding in a car. The ideal home for Leo would be with a family with alot of dog experience, with oldernor no kids who enjoy water sports, hiking, going on adventures and running/walking around the neighborhood. Leo is neutered, microchipped and UTD on his vaccines. If ypu are interested in meeting Leo, apply at jellysplace.org/forms

Story
Bear is a 5-year-old Great Pyrenees looking for a new home and family to protect. He grew up with 4 small children, one other dog, and a big, fenced-in yard that backed up to a large field full of coyotes and wild boars. He loved to run the perimeter and bark, scaring off all sorts of threats. However, due to my job, we recently moved into an apartment community with no yard. Despite our best efforts, our new living situation has proven to be unsuitable for Bear, and he is not living the life kind of life that he deserves. He needs a house with a yard, and he needs to be able to bark. He is very loving and gentle with his family, but very territorial and protective, and will bark aggressively at any strangers or animals approaching the house. We want him to have a good life, and are willing to drive any distance to deliver him to a good home. He would make an excellent farm dog, and was bred to be a livestock protector! Please consider letting Bear join your family.

Story
Gracie is a love... a BIG love! Though she is 66 pounds and should be at least 70, so she is not a huge Pyr at all. She sports a fairly manageable single coat with some undercoat but not a ton of extra fur like a big, classic Pyr, likely she could be a mix. Gracie had entropia surgery on one eye and that is mostly all healed up. She walks well on leash and is dog friendly, but can guard her food a bit with humans perhaps a bit and dogs, she was very thin, and needs a "Bottomless bowl for awhile which should help her with food anxiety, but this is why we have added the kids over 10 years attribute. Gracie is a very lovely girl deserving of a home with people to love, who understand Pyrs, and other critters too.....
