Story
LOCATED IN WA AND READY FOR MEET AND GREETS!!! The face that drew you here is Tonka, a brown-eyed boy with a gentle nature and dreams of a family of his own. Tonka can best be described is a connoisseur of calm. On a stormy Houston day, we saw him be the calm in a room full of dogs in a scene most would describe as chaos. His entire being exudes gentle and calm, love and warmth. One of my favorite things about Tonka is how peaceful his presence is. He is quiet company that just feels familiar. Another important thing to know, Tonka doesn’t know a stranger, he won’t pull you to get to them but his calm energy practically draws people to him and he greets them with grace. Almost every person says something along the lines of “I needed that” as if to say he melted the stress away. His demeanor and look lead us to believe he is a Great Pyrenees mix, approximately 3 year old, and he currently weighs 100 lbs. Breed and age are details we cannot offer 100% certainty on given the nature of rescue, but we do offer it as educated observations. What we can absolutely guarantee with Tonka is a heart-warming face and a gentle, caring nature. Tonka was introduced to several dogs and he was a perfect gentleman. It was a stormy day so a small indoor space may have kept him from the running and playing but he also may not be much of the big play type. Often Pyrenees mix dogs are much more the care-taker than party-starter. Even though he didn’t show a big playful side, he was at ease and made connections with a variety of dogs, big and small. In addition to being dog friendly, Tonka was an angel with our resident house cat. You can see more in this video, including him meeting the cat and taking a good swat to the nose with absolute grace. Given his size and nature, we would love to see Tonka in a home where he has space to explore and play. Although we didn’t get to see him run, once he is settled in a home and is comfortable, he may show you what those long legs can do. A house with a yard, a loving family, a mellow-canine companion or maybe even a feline friend, even a few cows- Tonka is going to be right at home! He is great on leash as well so if walks around the block or into town are your thing, her is your new walking partner! If you can guard his big loving heart, he promises gentle, calm companionship and loyalty in return. If you're looking for a four-legged friend who's got looks, charm, and a golden-good heart, Tonka is your guy! If you have any questions about Tonka or would like us to test him for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure he is the correct fit for you and your life! Interested in Tonka? Have question about him or the adoption process- email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org Adoption Application: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6671de8106f7c76c4f035d0f Available for adoption in NV, MT, CO,UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and now the East Coast! Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Story
The face that drew you to here is Mighty, a brown-eyed boy with a gentle nature and dreams of a family of his own. If you are looking for chaos and wild, Mighty is not the one. His entire being exudes gentle and calm, love and warmth. carrying a big loving heart and all the traits of an adoring, loyal dog. One of my favorite things about Mighty is how peaceful his presence is. He is quiet company that feels like you have always known. His demeanor and look lead us to believe he is a Great Pyrenees/Lab mix, approximately 4 years old, and he currently weighs 85 lbs, with 10 lbs to gain. Breed and age are details we cannot offer 100% certainty on given the nature of Mighty being a rescue, but we do offer it as educated observations. What we can absolutely guarantee with Mighty is a heart-warming face and gentle nature. Mighty was introduced to a handful of new dogs to gauge his playfulness and friendliness with dogs. Though he didn’t show a playful side, he was at ease and made connections with a variety of dogs, big and small, showing so much patience to some extra bouncy puppies and a feisty chihuahua. In addition to being dog friendly, Charlie was an angel with our resident house cat. You can see more in this video, including him meeting the cat and the magnetism he has when it comes to people. Given his size and nature, we would love to see Mighty in a home where his natural pace is welcome. A house with a yard (or not honestly- outside is for potty time to Mighty) ), a loving family, a mellow-friend or maybe even an equally calm feline friend, just the simple life. I can’t imagine many homes Mighty wouldn’t be well suited for. He is going to show up and feel like he has always been yours. If you can guard his big loving heart and keep the love coming, he promises sweetness, adoration, and loyalty in return. Story
We think it’s high time for Maverick to find his wingman, or wingwoman. He was running loose and living under a vacant trailer for a couple of years and had to be trapped by the amazing Duck Team 6.  He arrived here with skin issues and very little hair.  He was standoffish and unsure of his new life style. He has made a huge turn around and not only sporting a beautiful coat but a wonderful personality.  He is very unhappy when cats or dogs come into his space and barks in hopes that they will leave. He will probably be happier as an only pet though he has had a couple of dog buddies that lived next to him. He would thrive in an all adult home. Story
Hello! My name is Shep, and I’m a handsome Great Pyrenees with soft, gentle eyes that match my demeanor. Born in August 2022, I began my life with a family that didn’t treat me well, but luckily the Great Pyrenees Rescue Society took me in and my life has been changed forever!  At first, I had a hard time trusting humans, but my foster dad and his little pup Finn worked really hard to earn my trust.  I gradually began to realize that my foster dad is pretty alright, and my confidence started to grow. One day I released a joyful bark as an experiment to see how my foster dad would react, and he came close, gave me a gentle pat on the head and a kiss on the nose. That sealed the deal for me, because I knew at that moment that I was safe.  Now, I’m a super happy and playful pup with a smile for miles!  I love to explore my surroundings, and I’m super curious about the world around me. I love to play with the other dogs I live with, and I’m great with kids too.  And I really love my humans, especially when they give me lots of love, ear scratches, and belly rubs. Who doesn’t love that?  I’m a sweet and affectionate guy with a very loving disposition. I’ve been told that I’m a remarkable and gentle soul of a dog who has overcome great adversity in my life….all I know is that I have a heart full of love and I can’t wait to share it with my forever family!  Shep is available for adoption in Texas only. Meet Leonardo, your friendly neighborhood gentle giant! Born in September 2020, this sweet boy has mastered the art of nose kisses and has perfected the lean—just call him your personal cuddle bug. He might not be a high-energy fellow, but he’s still full of love and affection, just at a more relaxed pace. He’s a big boy with an even bigger heart, and he gets along great with everyone—dogs of all sizes, kiddos, and he even likes the cat! Leonardo is a fantastic walker and couldn’t care less about distractions when he’s out and about. All he really wants is some good lovin’, and he promises to return it tenfold. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who’s happiest just hanging out with you, then consider welcoming Leonardo to your family! Story
Meet Sulas, affectionately known as Sully, the lovable bundle of quirk ready to steal your heart! Born in April 2022, Sully is a stunningly handsome boy with a charming personality, ensuring he’ll make a lasting impression wherever he goes. This big playful goof is always up for a romp with his foster sister Mita, especially if it involves zooming around at record-breaking speeds and splashing through rain puddles. Despite his playful nature, Sully also has a mellow side and enjoys lounging around and contemplating the world around him. He's affectionate in his own laid-back way and loves nothing more than a good cuddle. Sully has outgrown the typical puppy antics and now boasts top-notch house manners and a repertoire of basic commands. Sully is an easy companion to have around with his excellent leash skills and his willingness to head to his crate, especially if there's a delicious treat waiting for him.  Sully thrives on running and playing at the dog park, so a spacious yard or easy access to a nearby park is essential for his happiness. While he's not a fan of cats or small dogs, Sully gets along famously with bigger canine companions and people of all ages and sizes.  Sully could thrive as either an only dog or alongside a compatible female friend, especially if it’s his foster sister, Mita.  So, if you’re looking for a huggable, lovable companion with a penchant for puddle-jumping and a heart full of love, Sully is your guy.
