Story
Meet Marshmello & Beethoven, these Great Pyrenees are about 1.5 years old and about 65lbs. These incredible pups were found running along a very busy highway in a huge storm on Monday, January 8, 2024. They were thin, soaking wet and starving. They were terrified of people and acted like they had been cared for with a very heavy hand. They are bonded and love to sleep together. They also enjoy their time apart. They like walking between your legs and getting their ears scratched. They like being outside and spending time with the family. They like baby talk. They love giving kisses now and have an easy temperament. They are non-reactive to other dogs, even when other dogs are barking around them. They will lay around in the kitchen while you are cooking. An ideal home is one where they are together. They can be in a multi pet home and enjoy kids of all ages. *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*

Story
Meet Ben! A young dog with an old soul. Ben is a 1 year old big, fluffy, goofy boy who we think is a great pyranees mix. But with rescue its always a mystery! Ben currently weighs around 70 pounds but he's really a gentle giant. What Ben loves more than anything is being outside in nature, no matter the weather! So he will need a home with a fenced back yard where he can go out as he pleases. But when he's back in the house, he's a perfect gentleman who is quiet in his crate and perfectly housetrained. He will be happy to lounge around at your feet. His next favorite thing is food! Ben will do cute tricks for food, like sit, speak, and shake! It will be a great way to bond with him! Teaching him new things will be a cinch with a few good treats. If you're looking for a pup that doesn't need constant attention, Ben is your guy! As long as you have a backyard for him to hang out in, he will be perfectly content. He does pretty well on leash but doesn't really need walks to be happy. He can even entertain himself if you give him some toys to toss around! Ben is great with all people, loves kids and other dogs big and small, but no kitties for this regal boy. In summary, Ben is a sweet gentle giant who would thrive in a home with another canine pal or two, a nice back yard to frolic and spend his days, and a family to love him for who he is. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van or bus transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Story
The face that drew you to here is Charlie, a brown-eyed boy with a gentle nature and dreams of a family of his own. If you are looking for chaos and wild, Charlie is not the one. His entire being exudes gentle and calm, love and warmth. carrying a big loving heart and all the traits of an adoring, loyal dog. One of my favorite things about Charlie is how peaceful his presence is, quiet company that just feels familiar. His demeanor and look lead us to believe he is a Great Pyrenees/Lab mix, approximately 1 year old, and he currently weighs 58 lbs. Breed and age are details we cannot offer 100% certainty on given the nature of Charlie being a rescue, but we do offer it as educated observations. What we can absolutely guarantee with Charlie is that heart-warming face and gentle nature. Charlie opened up as we introduced him to new dogs, though he didn’t show a big playful side, he was at ease and made connections with a variety of dogs, big and small. In addition to being dog friendly, Charlie was an angel with our resident house cat. You can see more in this video, including him meeting the cat and taking one heck of a nap on our couch. Given his size and nature, we would love to see Charlie in a home where he has space to explore and play. Although we didn’t get to see him run, once he is settled in a home and knows he is safe I have no doubt he will show you what those long legs can do. A house with a yard, a loving family, a mellow-friend or maybe even a feline friend. I can’t imagine many homes Charlie wouldn’t be well suited for. I sure do hope you’ll let him get on the couch though. He sure enjoyed it! If you can guard his big loving heart, he promises sweetness and loyalty in return. So, if you're looking for a four-legged friend who's got looks, charm, and a golden-good heart, Charlie is your guy! If you have any questions about Charlie or would like us to test him for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure he is the correct fit for you and your life! Interested in Charlie? Story
Black Rose is a sweet little innocent one! She is pretty laid back for a puppy, this seems to be a pretty laid-back group. She’s not hyper or jumpy or barky. Which is another reason why I’m guessing Pyrenees mix. She is estimated to be 4 months old and probably a lab Pyrenees mix but we cannot be sure since she is a rescue. She has a gorgeous, soft black coat, floppy ears, and she is about 26 lbs. No way to know how big she will end up being, but I predict approx 65 lbs. Black Rose has a very pleasant disposition. She is soft and will lay on the couch next to you quietly. She can be a bit shy at first but we’ve been working with her and she will continue to blossom!! She’s going to make a wonderful family companion or a best friend for someone. The foster has her on a good routine to go straight out to potty when she comes out of the crate, and she does well with a good routine like this. Buttercup is fully vetted and ready to go! Story
We think it’s high time for Maverick to find his wingman, or wingwoman. He was running loose and living under a vacant trailer for a couple of years and had to be trapped by the amazing Duck Team 6.  He arrived here with skin issues and very little hair.  He was standoffish and unsure of his new life style. He has made a huge turn around and not only sporting a beautiful coat but a wonderful personality.  He is very unhappy when cats or dogs come into his space and barks in hopes that they will leave. He will probably be happier as an only pet though he has had a couple of dog buddies that lived next to him. He would thrive in an all adult home. ADOPT HERE: Complete an Adoption Application for your Pyr-fect new family companion at https://gprs.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6206. All dogs and puppies require VISIBLE fencing Adoption fee: $300 (Adoption fee includes spay or neuter, distemper/parvo vaccines, flea preventative, deworming, and health certificate for travel). Adopters pay the cost of transport services outside of Texas area. Transport costs depend on location and company used. Northeast transport fee is $200. The Northwest and Midwest transport fees range from $225-$350, The Southeast transport fees range from $250-$350. GPRS has proudly placed thousands of Great Pyrenees and GP mixes in the PNW for over a decade. Story
Say hello to Bowie. When Bowie came to us from a Texas animal shelter as a stray, he was a mess - dirty, matted, malnourished and his coat was dull and thin in places. But after some good groceries, lots of TLC and a trip to the groomer, you have a dog that is a diamond in the rough. He has a gorgeous face and tail that shows what this handsome boy will look like when he is finished being polished! He stays out of his crate most of the day either lying beside her on the cool tile or beside her on the sofa wanting to play, or in the yard playing with the resident pawsibs. This sweet boy loves attention and petting and has been known to pass out a few kisses! Bowie wants to be wherever you are. Born around August 2019, he is young, playful and would do well with a resident canine companion and a secure, fenced yard to romp and play in. He is housetrained and sleeps well in a kennel all night without a bark or whine. He eats well, does not counter surf, but does look to see what’s for dinner on the kitchen table. He’s very much a gentleman and is respectful in the house and does not run indoors. He plays well with the resident pawsibs, ignores the foster Mom’s birds, and though he doesn’t play much with toys, he likes to chew on bones. He rides well in the car but is lacking in the desire to get in the car and walk on a leash, which will come in time. This boy is going to make someone a great companion! Don’t pass him up -- you’ll be glad you didn’t! Bowie is available for adoption in Texas only. Story
Hello! My name is Shep, and I’m a handsome Great Pyrenees with soft, gentle eyes that match my demeanor. Born in August 2022, I began my life with a family that didn’t treat me well, but luckily the Great Pyrenees Rescue Society took me in and my life has been changed forever!  At first, I had a hard time trusting humans, but my foster dad and his little pup Finn worked really hard to earn my trust.  I gradually began to realize that my foster dad is pretty alright, and my confidence started to grow. One day I released a joyful bark as an experiment to see how my foster dad would react, and he came close, gave me a gentle pat on the head and a kiss on the nose. That sealed the deal for me, because I knew at that moment that I was safe.  Now, I’m a super happy and playful pup with a smile for miles!  I love to explore my surroundings, and I’m super curious about the world around me. I love to play with the other dogs I live with, and I’m great with kids too.  And I really love my humans, especially when they give me lots of love, ear scratches, and belly rubs. Who doesn’t love that?  I’m a sweet and affectionate guy with a very loving disposition. I’ve been told that I’m a remarkable and gentle soul of a dog who has overcome great adversity in my life….all I know is that I have a heart full of love and I can’t wait to share it with my forever family!  Shep is available for adoption in Texas only. Story
Hello my name is: Lumi. My nickname is: "The Lumiest" My breed is: Great Pyrenees My age is: around one year old My favorite thing to eat is: Dog Delights chicken sticks.  My funniest quirk is: I like to lie on my back with my paws in the air. What do I get in trouble for: I am a sweet girl. What I dislike the most: The leash, but I am learning to like it.  What makes me unique is: that I don't do zoomies or bark much. Where do I sleep: My dog bed Do I love car rides: I like to lie down in the back seat. Where's my favorite place to go: Where my human is Do I like cats: Yes My perfect home would be: Where I can get the love and attention I need to be the best dog ever. Other stuff you should know:  My name is Lumi which means "snow" in Finnish. GPRS helped me out of a bad situation. They connected me with my foster mom and gave me the treatments needed to feel better.  I was terrified when I first got to my foster home, but my foster family gave me a lot of attention and was very gentle and patient. I still hesitate to come inside the house, but my foster mom tells me it's OK and gives me treats once I am safely inside. :)  I have a foster brother who wants to play with me, but I don't know if I trust him yet. He is way bigger than me, and he is kinda stinky!  I like relaxing with my foster family, in my dog bed, or on the cool floor. I don't get the zoomies, and I am very quiet unless I hear a siren or my foster brother barks too much. I love being near my foster family and getting lots of attention, like belly rubs or brushing my coat. Outside, I sometimes want to relax by myself in the shade or lie down by my foster mom's feet while on the porch.   I want to be adopted by a family who can spend time with me and give me lots of love. I need to learn to trust people again, so my new family must be patient and kind, using soft voices. Leashes make me uneasy, so my new family would have to help me get used to them so that I can go on long walks in the future. It would be great to have another dog companion, as I may get lonely when my humans are not at home. Story
Hi I am Leonardo- a Great Pyrenees born around August 2020. I'm good with all sizes of dogs and love my furry foster siblings (a Chihuahua, Rat Terrier and Great Pyrenees).  I can be a bit selective when it comes to other male dogs so best to take introductions slowly.  I even like the cat!.  I prefer to sleep on the doggie bed and sometimes get into trouble for counter surfing but we are working on that!  I’m doing pretty well learning my commands and have mastered stay, sugars (kisses) and come.  I’m working on “sit” but haven’t been convinced to do that one yet.  I love my foster family and do great with the kids.  When it comes to meeting strangers, I may be a bit hesitant at first but once I have a chance to do a bit of sniffing, I am fine. I am not a fan of playing in water, but I do love to drink it!  I’m a big gentle giant that just wants to be loved and love back and can be a bit of a leaner when I’m getting pets. Story
Sulas AKA Sully is a lovable bundle of quirk. Born in April 2022, from an early life he was left alone to his own devices, he's become a seeker of affection and fine companion. He's good on the leash, and goes to his crate willingly, although a nice baked fruity treat will make it the best experience possible. For all his love, Sully is not very fond of cats or small dogs. He is good with people big and small. His best placement would be either alone, with Mita, or with another female. He loves to run and play at the dog park so a nice big yard or access to a dog park is also essential. Come take a closer look at this sweet boy.         ADOPT HERE: Complete an Adoption Application for your Pyr-fect new family companion at https://gprs.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6206. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
