Grits and determination!! That is the saying, right? To get anywhere you must have grits and determination?? Grits are good for you, ask any Southern mama :) You guessed it, my name is Grits and I have a LOT of determination! I came from the pound with HORRIFIC injuries related to a multiple dog attack :( And boy I was in pain and had horrible infections and was so so skinny and just sad... But the rescue peeps fixed me up! It took several weeks of LOVE, good nutrition, wound care and "heart repair" to return my zest for life and to see the glimmer of hope in my eyes... Now I am all fixed up, healthy and happy and READY for you!! Don't ever let me be out on the streets again, fighting off other dogs to live. Give me your COUCH, an air conditioner and lots of love and treats and I will be yours FUREVER!!! And speaking of fur, well, you know I am a Great Pyrenees and we SHED great amounts, so you must love me more than my hair!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
So the rescue people named me Rascal, which is really not an accurate description of me!! I am SERIOUS :) I am not rascally, I am a pup but I am a good pup! I don't want to cause any drama in my new furever home, I PROMISE :) I have lived on the streets and I know that I don't ever want to be there again! I get my food/water/love/hope and plenty of fun in my rescue but I long for the same from a forever family. I don't think it is too much to ask, I mean look at my face my sweet and innocent face. It will show you that I am a wonderful boy whose "rascally" ways are far FAR behind me!! I am great with everyone, so hurry up and adopt me! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Elmer, like the glue, you ask?? WELL MAYBE!!! I am a GREAT Great Pyrenees boy who had a rough looking life before I was saved in the rain, with big wounds on my face and front chest and legs :( Looked to the rescuers like I had been in a fight... So here I am, LIVING THE HIGH LIFE!!!! I am in a foster home with AIR CONDITIONING!!! And my foster momma and her momma love on me and keep me fed and happy :) I, of course, had heartworms when I was found. HOWEVER, those pesky worms are currently dying off and I am feeling better every day without those parasites!!! I am a couch surfer, have you ever tried to surf a couch?? NOT EASY but here I am, killing it!! (not the couch, the surfing life :) I am a big boy, about 95-100# when full grown- but GENTLE GIANT thoroughly describes me. I am easy going and happy and loving. As a late in life neutered male, I like the female dogs better than other males, unless they are submissive. And I am crate/house/everything trained already so you don't have to worry about that! ADOPT ME, I have SO MANY redeeming qualities... WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??? Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
We think it’s high time for Maverick to find his wingman, or wingwoman. He was running loose and living under a vacant trailer for a couple of years and had to be trapped by the amazing Duck Team 6.  He arrived here with skin issues and very little hair.  He was standoffish and unsure of his new life style. He has made a huge turn around and not only sporting a beautiful coat but a wonderful personality.  He is very unhappy when cats or dogs come into his space and barks in hopes that they will leave. He will probably be happier as an only pet though he has had a couple of dog buddies that lived next to him. He would thrive in an all adult home. Story
Say hello to Bowie. When Bowie came to us from a Texas animal shelter as a stray, he was a mess - dirty, matted, malnourished and his coat was dull and thin in places. But after some good groceries, lots of TLC and a trip to the groomer, you have a dog that is a diamond in the rough. He has a gorgeous face and tail that shows what this handsome boy will look like when he is finished being polished! He stays out of his crate most of the day either lying beside her on the cool tile or beside her on the sofa wanting to play, or in the yard playing with the resident pawsibs. This sweet boy loves attention and petting and has been known to pass out a few kisses! Bowie wants to be wherever you are. Born around August 2019, he is young, playful and would do well with a resident canine companion and a secure, fenced yard to romp and play in. He is housetrained and sleeps well in a kennel all night without a bark or whine. He eats well, does not counter surf, but does look to see what’s for dinner on the kitchen table. He’s very much a gentleman and is respectful in the house and does not run indoors. He plays well with the resident pawsibs, ignores the foster Mom’s birds, and though he doesn’t play much with toys, he likes to chew on bones. He rides well in the car but is lacking in the desire to get in the car and walk on a leash, which will come in time. This boy is going to make someone a great companion! Don’t pass him up -- you’ll be glad you didn’t! Bowie is available for adoption in Texas only.
