Story
When HART first rescued Newton, this gorgeous boy was very shy. Since being in a loving foster home, he has shown significant improvement! He is less shy when meeting new people, and after proper introduction, he seeks out chin scratches and belly rubs. Newton has enjoyed running in the backyard, chasing a ball, and he will certainly need a secure, fenced yard to safely explore and get his zoomies. Newton is house trained, sleeps well at night in his kennel, does not have separation anxiety, occasionally barks but settles down, takes treats gently, and knows basic commands to include "sit", "stay", "wait" and knows to wait for "yes" and "OK" before proceeding. He walks well on a leash particularly in the neighborhood and on trails but needs additional training to prevent occasional pulling. He sheds his gorgeous coat once a year and fortunately loves to be brushed with a wire brush to keep it under control. He gets along well with other dogs after a proper introduction and would benefit from having another confident dog in the home. Newton is not at all aggressive and responds to scary or new situations by backing away so he can get comfortable on his own terms. As he continues to overcome his shyness, he has shown that he is eager to explore, have new experiences, and meet new people. Newton is looking for a family that will continue with his training and socialization to ensure he will reach his potential. Inquire about meeting Newton because it will be love at first sight! Story
Indigo is a big-hearted sweetheart with an incredibly loving and gentle soul. She is affectionate, eager to please, and thrives on human connection. With kids, she is especially joyful—she loves greeting them and often shows her excitement with wagging tails, happy body language, and sweet kisses. Her playful spirit really shines when she’s outside, where she adores running around the yard, chasing balls, and proudly carrying sticks like little treasures. With adults, Indigo does best with slow, calm introductions. New situations and unfamiliar people can sometimes feel overwhelming for her at first, but once she has time to settle in and build trust, she forms deep, loyal bonds and becomes an incredibly devoted companion. Indigo does well greeting other dogs in public settings, but she would thrive best as the only dog in a household. She enjoys being the center of attention and benefits from having one-on-one time, allowing her to feel secure and confident in her environment!
