Story
Remy was born in Houston on 3/12/2020. We adopted her at nine weeks old and she has been a joy ever since. She LOVES people and does great with guests and large parties. She is calm, independent, relatively low maintenance, and doesn’t need as much exercise as many breeds. She is highly trainable and can do 25+ tricks/commands. She responds very well to positive reinforcement training and is treat-motivated. She is half Great Pyrenees (a livestock guardian breed), so although she is very well-behaved, she can be a barker. She gets along well with other dogs, but has a tendency to resource guard with them (never with people). She showed one instance of food guarding towards our toddler that resulted in a small bruise, which is the only reason we feel we need to rehome her to a 12 yr+ home. Prior to this instance, she was always amazing with kids. She is the sweetest girl and everyone who meets her loves her. We hope she can find a home with people who love her as much as we do!

Story
Animal Profile: Tessa is approximately 2 years old, 49 lb spayed female super blend of Shepherd, Husky, and a handful of other breeds. She joined us along with her three siblings on 1/13/23 from Texas. She is dog friendly and great with people. Ideally, we would like to see her go to a home with a securely fenced yard and a fellow canine companion. Foster Update: If you are looking for a gentle, goofy, happy and super sweet girl, Tessa could be the one for you!  She is really a special girl with so much love to give.  Tessa takes a little time to warm up to meeting new people but once shes does she becomes your biggest fan! She loves to smile, snuggle, play and knows all the best looks to completely win you over! Her eye contact game is on point! Tessa hasn’t met a dog she didn’t like and immediately cozy up to and ask to play. Rain or shine, Tessa absolutely loves being outside in the yard and romping, running and tossing toys around, or just as content lying in the grass watching the birds and soaking up the sun. Tessa loves going on truck rides and exploring things with her foster family. She does really well when left alone at home with her foster sister, but does not like to be solo. The idea family for Tessa is one with with previous dog experience or with another playful well-adjusted dog to help her become comfortable in her new home and live her best life. She has learned sit, wait, drop it, get a toy, down, and her recall is pretty great as long as there are no squirrels in sight! She’s made a lot of progress with her confidence and has pretty great leash manners.  Tessa completed a four-week board and train with K9 Command and she made really great progress with leash confidence and commands. We have no doubt she is capable of learning so much more with the right person providing structure, love, support and consistency. When adopted, Tessa will get an in person training session and lifetime trainer support provided by K9 Command to help get her off to a great start with her new family! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from our rescue partner in Texas and arrived in Seattle area foster care on 1/13/23.July 19, 2024, 11:29 pm

Story
WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Harley - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Harley and it comes from the Old English origin meaning 'Hare Meadow', which represents a peaceful and serene image. Just nothing like seeing a Pyr laying in the yard watching! Unfortunately my elderly owner is not able to care for me any longer but I'm trying not to let it get me down as I look for another family to adopt. Did you know that I came from royalty? The Pyrenees breed came from France where we made our way up from being a peasant farmers dog to the royal court being named the royal dog of France in 1675. Even Queen Victoria had a Pyr. We are strong willed and can sometimes be stubborn but more importantly we are affectionate, patient, confident, fearless and gentle. It is said that we wouldn't make a good breed for first timers but if you're aware of the negative traits (sometimes stubborn & lots of hair) along with the awesome good traits, we could definitely make it work. As a youngster at only around a year and a half old, I do have some basic obedience training, am well mannered, I don't jump up unless invited and have a sweet, loving warm nature that just adores getting 'good boys' from my people. I am a big boy of snowy white fluff. I will need several weekly brushings to keep my royal self tangle free and looking dapper and the vacuum will be an extension of your arm with me around but the reward of my adoring love for you will sooooo be worth it!! A couple of daily 45 minute walks a day should be enough to keep me happy. With that daily exercise in I can do quite well in town with a yard or in the country. I fall into the 3 G category which is Gorgeous, Gentle and Giant. Instinctively nurturing with the flock or family, we do make great family members. Just make sure the couch is big enough for sharing!!! My breed tend to love being with the family and are content to lay at or on your feet or curled up with you on that big enough couch. I'm here to adopt me a family and since you're reading this you must being missing something special in your life too, could it possibly be...ME?!!

Grits and determination!! That is the saying, right? To get anywhere you must have grits and determination?? Grits are good for you, ask any Southern mama :) You guessed it, my name is Grits and I have a LOT of determination! I came from the pound with HORRIFIC injuries related to a multiple dog attack :( And boy I was in pain and had horrible infections and was so so skinny and just sad... But the rescue peeps fixed me up! It took several weeks of LOVE, good nutrition, wound care and "heart repair" to return my zest for life and to see the glimmer of hope in my eyes... Now I am all fixed up, healthy and happy and READY for you!! Don't ever let me be out on the streets again, fighting off other dogs to live. Give me your COUCH, an air conditioner and lots of love and treats and I will be yours FUREVER!!! And speaking of fur, well, you know I am a Great Pyrenees and we SHED great amounts, so you must love me more than my hair!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Goliath! He is a 4-year-old Anatolian Shepherd/Chow Chow mix. His name suits him as he is a VERY LARGE dog. He will need a strong adopter to handle his strength. Goliath is sweet with his people, food motivated, focused, and very active. He is dignified and can be quite stubborn at times but eager to please when food is involved. He would do best in a home with a big yard for him to run, play fetch, and explore! He is reactive towards other dogs, and needs to be the only dog in the home. Goliath is stunning and will need to go to a home with large breed experience. He is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400.
