Story
Zorro is a stunning brindle Alaskan Husky mix with the kind of eyes that stop people in their tracks. He is a handsome boy who seems to have lived with other large dogs before and has shown himself to be calm and comfortable around them. He is easy to walk on leash, though if Zorro had his way, walks would mostly consist of short outings followed by extended cuddle sessions. Affection is very much his priority. Zorro is gentle when taking treats and has displayed a wonderfully easygoing nature. He has even politely ignored our shelter's wild turkey neighbors! He also appears to be quite familiar with cars. In fact, during a recent outing, Zorro confidently hopped into a volunteer's car the moment the door opened, clearly assuming he was being sprung from the premises. (He was temporarily disappointed, but handled it well.) Zorro would love nothing more than a forever person of his own, someone who will take him on car rides, give him the stability he deserves, and most importantly, never bring him back to the shelter. Story
Tundra is a playful and friendly dog who has become a fast favorite among our volunteers. He is social, easygoing, and genuinely enjoys being out and about with people. He has done wonderfully meeting new people at both shelter and off-site events, greeting visitors with a calm, approachable demeanor. During one recent outing, he even interacted gently and politely with a small child. Tundra has shown himself to be remarkably composed around other dogs. He has not displayed reactivity and remained neutral even when approached by an overly enthusiastic loose chihuahua. He walks nicely on leash, stays connected with his handler, and rides beautifully in the car. In short, Tundra is a true gem: affectionate, adaptable, and a joy to spend time with. Story
Wreath is a playful husky with a big personality! He is an energetic and happy dog who is not shy about expressing his enthusiasm. Attention and pets are high on his priority list. Wreath is curious and playful, still figuring out the finer points of games like fetch but always eager to join in. His engagement and expressiveness make him a very entertaining companion. Like many dogs, the shelter environment has been a bit stressful for Wreath. He can show some anxiety, particularly when he is craving connection and reassurance. Fortunately, he scored a foster home and is enjoying his time away from the shelter living with other huskies. Wreath will do best with an adopter who appreciates an active, expressive dog and is ready to provide both engagement and stability. Since Wreath is in foster, please email us at adopt@yoloshelter.org to schedule a showing with him!February 17, 2026, 4:36 pm

Story
Margarine is a uniquely handsome Shepherd x Husky mix with striking eyes and an unforgettable smile. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was understandably anxious and unsure about life on leash. With patience and consistent handling from staff, he gradually built confidence and learned that walks were not something to fear. Now, he is great on leash and much more relaxed heading out and about. Margarine is still learning the basics and does not know formal commands yet, but he is very food-motivated which is a fantastic foundation for training. He is eager, curious, and ready to keep figuring out how the world works alongside his future person. He enjoys being around people and has a friendly, approachable nature. At this time, we have not observed Margarine with other dogs, small animals, or children. If you are looking for a dog you can truly build a bond with and help shape through training and shared experiences, Margarine has a lot of potential. Story
Mila is a gentle, calm husky whose quiet sweetness often surprises people. After spending many months surviving on her own outdoors, she arrived in rough condition but has since made a remarkable recovery in foster care. Despite her long time on the run, Mila has proven to be an easygoing and affectionate companion. She is fully potty trained, walks nicely on leash, and settles comfortably into a home routine. While she can be a bit timid in new situations, she is deeply loving once she feels safe. Mila has done very well living with other dogs in foster and enjoys calm, relaxed interactions with her canine companions. She is also notably quiet for a husky and far more interested in cuddles and gentle affection than dramatic vocal performances. Mila is ready for a stable, loving home where she can continue to thrive and enjoy the comfort she has worked so hard to regain. Since Mila is currently in foster, please email adopt@yoloshelter.org to set up a showing with her!February 17, 2026, 4:36 pm

Story
I got Lilo around 6 years ago from an abusive home. She has since opened up and become a quirky girl. She loves her zoomies but can sometimes play a little rough and her past is still very traumatic for her. She is very sweet and loving but has a small temperament and some food aggression that I’ve been working on since I got her. What I’m looking for in a new home for her is someone who is active and loves going on walks or exercising. Someone who doesn’t currently have animals as she can try to be dominant and doesn’t know when to let another dog be alpha. She has lived with other dogs but she was the alpha and the other dogs didn’t challenge that. She has slight separation anxiety and is kennel trained. She would be best in a home where there is someone there majority of the time. I work full time and she does fine by herself at home in her kennel, I have cameras where I can watch her throughout the day as well. I’m rehoming due to not getting along with our other dog.
