Story
ElioIf you need a teddy bear to cuddle, Elio is the Siberian husky  for you. He absolutely loves attention from people and will gently nudge you until he gets some love: ear rubs, tummy rubs, shoulders and backâ&#194&#128¦ he doesn't care. As long as there is a person touching him, he is a happy pup. He had a bad hair cut so his hair is mostly soft down and we are awaiting the guard hairs. He is going to be a soft, cuddly husky. He is moderately interested in most of the neighborhood cats, so a slow intro will be needed (as always...) if he is going to live with cats.Elio is very friendly and playful with other dogs, even a bigger pack. He can also be your favorite walking and hiking buddy because he totally enjoys himself on walks, playing with his attached walking husky buddy. But when he is with a â&#194&#128&#194&#156no nonsense, we have ground to coverâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 buddy, he keeps his antics reasonable and makes everyone happyâ&#194&#128¦ even â&#194&#128&#194&#156no nonsense.â&#194&#128&#194&#157Elio is in foster with a pack of huskies, kept in check by a border collie, so please contact adopt@yoloshelter.org to set up a time to meet Elio and find your new teddy bear.Email adopt@yoloshelter.org to meet Elio at our shelter in Woodland!January 21, 2026, 6:48 pm

Story
Mila is a sweet, calm five-year-old red Siberian husky who has had an adventurous life but still knows the value of cuddle time. She was found with a litter of adorable 8-9-week-old puppies who were quickly adopted in January last year.Mila, on the other hand, was harder to catch at that point and evaded animal control until October. She was in rough shape after 10+ months on the run.Her eyes were infected and her coat showed the scars of a diet based on what she was able to scavenge. After almost three months in foster, she is now ready to find her forever home, thanks to the help of friends of FYCAS who helped Mila get the care she needed for her eyes, as well as her spay.Despite her time on the run, we were surprised to see how gentle and calm she is.She is a little timid in new situations, but very loving once she is comfortable .Her age is estimated at about 5 to 6 years and she is about 55 lbs.She is completely potty trained and likes to play calmly with her foster siblingsâ&#194&#128&#194&#148a border collie mix and some huskies. She thinks good-morning kisses as well as ear and tummy rubs are as important as eating kibble. And she loves walks but doesn't pull like the other huskies. She is not vocal so if you are an IG influencer who wants a screaming husky, she is not your dog.Her DNA says she is mostly Siberian Husky with a little German Shepard, Malamute, and Samoyed to round out the mix.If you want to make an appointment and give Mila the home she deserves, please go to yoloshelter.org/adopt. Story
Elaine is an angel! She is mellow, sweet, and friendly, potty-trained, and loves to be petted. During a recent outing, she was comfortable riding in the car and got along with all the other dogs she met, even the small ones. She is a petite grandma ready to spend her golden years in comfort. She came to us as a stray in rough shape â&#194&#128&#194&#148 dirty enough to need two baths â&#194&#128&#194&#148 but it was immediately clear she was a gentle sweetheart. Shelter life took a toll, and Elaine began to lose weight from stress. Thankfully, a loving foster stepped in and gave her the peace and care she needed to bounce back. She spends most of her time snoozing or peacefully spaced outâ&#194&#128&#194&#148and we adore her for it. If you're looking for a low-maintenance, soulful companion to nap beside you, Elaine is your girl. All she wants is a cozy place to rest and a family to love her. Elaine is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her shots.January 21, 2026, 6:48 pm

We're over the moon for Moon! He's excellent on a leashâ&#194&#128&#194&#148one of the easiest huskies to walk. He's predictable and extremely smart. He knows paw, sit, down, and wait. His recent day trip was awesome! He proved to be perfect beyond expectations.First, he went to the park to release some energy by playing and chasing a ball.He showed no sign of resource guarding when he dropped the ball, eagerly waiting for it to be thrown or kicked.Downtown, Moon was confident. He loved meeting new people and getting attention and pats.He was calm while some unsupervised kids ran around. He did fine in tight places and was patient when visiting a local coffee shop. The owner commented on how well-behaved he was. While waiting for Macha, he showered visitors with love and kisses. At the pet shop, he was interested in barking poodles but didn't react. He seemed playful around other dogs.Moon would make a sweet/AMAZING companion for someone with Husky experience who knows how to deal with the occasional appearance of a diva.To meet Moon, email yoloshelter.org/adopt to make an appointment.January 24, 2026, 12:39 am

Wreath is a handsome, fluffy-tailed husky with a confident strut that says â&#194&#128&#194&#156yes, I know I'm gorgeousâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 (and he's right!). He's super playful, loves people, and is a well-rounded social butterfly with main-character energy. He's a happy, bouncy boy who gets excited easily (expect some jumps of joy!) and lives for pets, cuddles, and attention. Fetch? He LOVES the idea of it! He's still figuring out the rules of the game, but honestly that just adds to his charm.Wreath does have a little anxiety in the shelter, but it's the kind that means he's looking for his person, someone who can give him structure, reassurance, and lots of love. With the right human, he's incredibly affectionate and eager to bond. Wreath is a playful, loving, slightly dramatic husky who will hype you up daily with his floofy tail and runway walk!To make an appointment to meet Wreath and look into those eyes, please go to yoloshelter.org/adopt.January 26, 2026, 8:06 pm

Story
Tyr (pronounced â&#194&#128&#194&#156teerâ&#194&#128&#194&#157) is a stunning Husky and Australian cattle dog mix with a big personality and endless curiosity. He's full of spirit, energy, and that classic goofy husky exuberance that makes him impossible not to love. Shelter life isn't for Tyr! He's too vibrant, too curious, and too playful to be cooped up in a kennel! He thrives when he can run, explore, and chase his favorite Chuckit ball. Water is one of his favorite things in the world, whether itâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s splashing in a pool or soaking up the sun after a swim. He even enjoys a good sudsy head massage during bath time! Tyr is incredibly social and loves meeting new people. He greets adults with enthusiasm and happily interacts with other dogs. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s been a dog tester for meet-and-greets and does great with well-matched dog companions. He's doesn't resource guard and can trade toys, chews, or treats with ease. Tyr is curious about small animals, so caution is recommended in homes with cats or other tiny pets, but we know with patience and training, he'd be fine. This smart boy loves exploring and staying busy. He's learned to scavenge the trash and recycling bin (oops!) BUT thrives when given a job to do. He's not super treat- or toy-motivated, but his brain craves stimulation, so he's perfect for an active home that can give him structure, enrichment, and lots of outdoor adventures. Think long hikes, ranch life, or a big yard to run around! Tyr loves water, fetch, and playful romps with dog friends. Anything to help burn off his energy. He also responds well to basic manners training and would shine with an owner who enjoys teaching smart, spirited dogs new skills. We recommend an active family with doggy friends and dog-savvy older children. In short, Tyr is curious, fun, goofy, and endlessly spirited! A loyal companion who will thrive in a home that matches his adventurous heart. Give him the space to explore, a dog friend to keep up with, and the freedom to be his goofy, playful self, and he'll give you a lifetime of laughs, love, and adventure.Appointments can be scheduled at yoloshelter.orgJanuary 27, 2026, 2:40 am
