Story
Meet Acadia! This handsome boy is looking for a home where he can enjoy the rest of his life. At 8 years old he still has so much life left, but he’s also slowing down just a bit. Acadia unfortunately found his way to us after his owner added a new cat, knowing that Acadia was not cat compatible. We are so sad for him, but we know that he has a future with someone who will love him like he deserves. He is a goofy guy and a typical husky. He can be aloof, but also has no problem requesting attention when he wants it. He loves to bounce around with you in excitement when he comes out of his crate in the morning, sometimes doing a little happy howl too. Acadia has done well with female dogs, and does get along with more laid back, males. He also is content being solo. Acadia loves to explore, go on walks, and just enjoy your company. Thankfully he has not been one to be an escape artist, and has respected his foster home's fencing (both chainlink and privacy fence). He is potty trained, fully vetted, and ready to go home. His adoption fee has been sponsored.

Husky siblings Anya💜 and Buddy💙 were rescued from a highkill shelter in SoCal last year, have been cared in Avon, Indiana by a wonderful foster family in Avon, Indiana. They’re so sweet and loving, with beautiful energy, great with people, kids and other dogs. They both spayed/neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. They need a new foster, or foster to adopt, or better yet, a loving forever home🏡 quick, as their current foster family can no longer continue caring for them due to unforeseen circumstance. Here’s what their foster mom has to say about them: “Anya💜 (also called Stella) and Buddy💙 are a playful young Husky duo estimated to be around 2–3 years old. These two share a special bond and truly bring out the best in each other. They love spending their days running, chasing, and play-wrestling together in classic Husky fashion. While they are very playful together, they are also comfortable doing their own thing when it’s time to relax and often nap separately. Anya💜 is the more talkative of the pair and loves to “chat,” especially when she’s excited to start the day or head outside. She’s affectionate and enjoys being close to her humans when she’s not playing with Buddy. Buddy💙 is the goofy gentleman of the duo — a big, gentle goofball with a sweet personality. He’s generally quieter but will let out an impressive Husky howl when he’s excited about treats, playtime, or cool weather outside. Both dogs are very people-friendly and do well with adults and children. They enjoy toys, running outdoors, cuddling with their people, and especially playing together. Snow days are easily one of their favorite things!😻😻 They have moderate to high Husky energy and will thrive in a home that can give them regular exercise and outdoor time. Because they have lived together and enjoy each other’s companionship so much, they would do best adopted as a pair where they can continue their playful partnership. - Behavior & Training Summary Bond: Strongly bonded and very playful together. They enjoy each other’s company but can be separated for short periods without distress. House trained: Mostly house trained. Occasional accidents have occurred but they generally do well in the home. Crate trained: Yes, both do well in crates. Leash walking: They can pull when excited during walks. Food motivation: Very food motivated, which can be helpful for training. Escape tendencies: Both attempted to escape initially. Buddy may still wander into neighboring yards if fencing allows gaps. Digging: Both enjoy digging and have created several holes in the yard. Fence behavior: Not fence jumpers. However, they may dig or push under chain link fencing if there are loose areas. Good with adults: Yes Good with children: Yes Good with other dogs: Generally yes. Anya can be selective with some female dogs but does well with males and smaller dogs. Good with cats: Unknown Energy level: Moderate to high energy typical of Huskies. ***THIS ANIMAL IS STAYING IN A FOSTER HOME AND IS NOT CURRENTLY IN THE SHELTER***Coco is a joyful, high-energy sweetheart who approaches life with enthusiasm, playfulness, and a whole lot of love. This happy boy just wants to prance around, play, and be part of whatever his people are doing. He’s full of life and thrives on activity, attention, and companionship. Coco has a very high energy level and would do best in a home ready to keep him busy. He currently enjoys multiple play sessions a day—often 30 minutes to an hour at a time—and still has energy to spare. Playtime, exercise, and interactive fun are essential for him, and once he’s had a chance to burn off some energy, he’s more than happy to soak up affection and cuddle with his favorite humans. He absolutely loves people and sees everyone as a potential playmate. While he hasn’t yet been formally introduced to children or other pets, he shows strong interest in engaging and playing when he sees them. Coco is gentle with treats and allows handling around food, showing no signs of possessiveness. Coco is smart and eager to learn. With consistency, he’s already improving his manners and is getting very good at sitting politely while his leash is put on or taken off. He’s a quick learner who responds well to guidance and routine. He’s also getting accustomed to grooming, such as brushing. One thing to note is that Coco seems sensitive around his back right hip and does not like being touched there. This may indicate a previous injury or soreness, so continued observation and gentle handling around that area will be important. Affectionate and endearing, Coco doesn’t quite understand his size and truly believes he’s a lap dog. He’s the kind of dog who wants to play hard, love deeply, and cuddle even closer. With an active home, consistent training, and lots of love, Coco will make an incredibly fun, devoted companion. Adoptions are free and include support from our adoption team to ensure a smooth transition from the shelter to your home.
