She also has a softer side and enjoys relaxing and bonding once she feels safe.Ellsa is Lyme disease positive, which means she has been exposed to Lyme disease. Many dogs with Lyme live full, happy lives, especially with proper veterinary care and routine monitoring. Odyssey is a sweet, silly and super smart guy who’s ready to find his forever home! He’s a big fan of snacks, loves playing ball, and has a goofy, lovable personality that’s sure to win you over. This playful pup is also a bit of a people-watcher, he enjoys keeping tabs on staff and volunteers and being part of the action.He can be a little talkative (as Huskies tend to be!), so a home without shared walls and a physical fence would be best. We aren`t sure if Odyssey is house trained, but he does keep his kennel clean. Odyssey came from a hoarding situation, so we’re still learning how he feels about other dogs. Because of this, a meet and greet with all household members, furry and human, will be required before adoption.Odyssey is on-site at our rescue. If you`d like to meet him, you can stop by our rescue to meet him or fill out an application online. Information may change as we get to know Odyssey better.

Meet Wyatt Earpp!Wyatt is a German Shepherd/Husky/Lab mix that is full grown at around 56 pounds and was born 12/4/2022. Wyatt and Doc were an owner surrender after his family needed help looking to find forever homes, not only for him, but for many his siblings too. Since being at the shelter, Wyatt Earp and his bonded buddy Doc Holiday are ready to find a family of their own.Doc has learned to make fast friends, while Wyatt still looks to Doc for guidance and confidence when meeting new people. Due to this, they may need multiple meets in order for them to feel comfortable. Once you have earned their trust, you will become their new best friends. Since they did not grow up around children or other dogs outside of their pack, they would love to have proper introductions with any resident family members including children or other dogs. While we do think another dog in the home will help them build confidence, it is not required. As for children, older kids might be easier for them to trust, as younger children can be scary when they are loud or make fast movements. Once they are comfortable though, they may jump to greet and could potentially knock someone over if they become too excited. Both have not had the opportunity to meet with cats, but we can always test them to get their reactions.They have learned lots of new tricks that that they use every day such as basic commands like `sit`, `down`, and `off`, they know when it is time to go potty and play outside, and how to walk on leash. They may still pull when they are excited to go on walks or to play outside, but both have come a long way from when they first arrived.Wyatt and Doc are still a little anxious due to the change from being outside dogs into learning that the inside is okay for them too, so they may still need help learning proper house manners once in their future home. They would still like a home that is patient, willing to show them new things at their pace, and one that will have time to help them build confidence and express their energy! Because of their experience of being outside and learning the perks of staying inside throughout the day and overnight, they would be able to be adopted as an inside/outside dog, but we will require that they have access to a climate-controlled shelter, that they have access to fresh food and fresh water every day, and that they have plenty of space to exercise safely within a fenced in area.If you would be i

Journey is a sassy, smart and spirited Husky mix who’s still learning to trust the world around him. He’s got that classic Husky attitude - vocal, opinionated and a little mouthy - but underneath it all, he’s a sweet guy who just needs the right person to help him feel safe and loved.Journey came to us from a hoarding situation, so he`s still figuring out how to interact with people, and we haven`t had a chance to test his interactions with other dogs quite yet. We believe a slow introduction to all household members, furry and human, would be best for him. He is still pretty nervous of fast movements and loud noises so older children or no children in his future home, may be where he feels most comfortable. Because Journey is very vocal, a home without shared walls would be the best fit for him. He would still need to learn trust when being leashed, so he would also do best in a home with a fenced in yard. He is incredibly smart and treat-motivated, so treats are a fast way to his heart. After he trusts you, proper training won`t be too difficult. We aren`t quite sure if he is house trained, but he does keep his kennel clean!If you are interested in making him apart of your family, you can come and meet him in one of our playrooms or fill out an application online. Alaska has been with us since he was a baby. In 2018 he came to our house from Mexico. He is a well behaved dog, very playful and tolerates kids. He is almost 8 years old. I am looking for a loving home that can take care of him. He is an inside dog.

Story
Rufus is a 5.5-year-old fluff-ball of a husky with derpy eartips and a love of humans and life. We adopted him three years ago and he has thrived in a house with older children and a couple of cats. He enjoys walks and runs, particularly in winter. He's trustworthy and can be left to roam the house for long periods of time when we're not home. He does very well off-leash. Rufus loves snuggles and leans into hugs and pets. He gets along well with other dogs, particularly others who are up to play. After a lot of anxious contemplation, we're looking to rehome Rufus because of a behavioral/environmental issue we can't find another solution for: On rare occasions (five times over three years), he has grabbed someone's foot and applied enough pressure to puncture or cause bruising. This has only happened with unfamiliars, and only when he's startled AND anxious from lack of familiarity. We would like Rufus to be in a lower-human-traffic environment without very young children.
