Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. ​Triscuit is an absolute lovebug looking for a snuggle buddy. He wants to be pet as much as possible and will make his feelings known by putting his head under your arm if you aren’t petting him. He has a somewhat limited understanding of personal space and prefers to spend his time on top of someone. He is a bit timid, but gets over it pretty quickly when he realizes there are treats and pets available. Triscuit is unfortunately heartworm positive and will need an adopter who will continue his treatment. LDDR will cover the cost, but he will need to be kept calm and on restricted activity until he gets the all clear from the vet. While he isn’t allowed to run around now, he still has a bit of energy that slows that he would love to run around and play once he is able. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. **If you are interested in adopting Yuki, please contact Caleb at caleb1594@gmail.com.** Meet Yuki 🐾 Yuki is a 3-year-old Husky who is, quite frankly, very good at being a Husky. He’s smart, energetic, athletic, and full of personality—and he’s looking for a home that understands what that really means. Yuki walks well on a leash and is house-broken. He’s crate trained, though he has occasionally demonstrated his impressive problem-solving skills by getting out of it. He has lots of energy and will need regular exercise and mental stimulation to stay happy. He can jump fences, so a secure yard (or supervised outdoor time) is a must. He enjoys being groomed and doesn’t mind baths, loves to cuddle, and is a big fan of belly rubs. Yuki also gets car sick, so short trips or some patience will be needed there. Yuki should be the only pet in the home—he is definitely not cat-friendly, and his behavior around other dogs or children is currently unknown. Because of his breed traits and energy level, Yuki would do best with an experienced Husky owner or someone who is truly willing to put in the time, training, and commitment this breed requires. In short: Yuki isn’t “too much dog”—he’s just exactly the dog you’d expect when you adopt a Husky. **If you are interested in adopting Tavin, please contact Chris at 2cadamski@gmail.com.** After my mother passed away in November 2025, I made a promise—one I’ve held onto every day since—to keep her two beloved dogs safe, loved, and together. Isabelle and Tavin aren’t just pets… they are a living piece of her, her love, and the life she built. Isabelle, 3½ years old, is a Staffordshire Terrier mix with a heart as big as her loyalty. She is incredibly smart, deeply affectionate, and was lovingly trained by my mother as both an emotional support animal (ESA) and a psychiatric service dog (PSD). She has a calm strength about her—the kind of dog who just knows when you need her. Tavin, her 2½-year-old son, has grown up right by her side. He shares her loving nature and brings his own gentle, playful spirit into the world. Their bond is beautiful—they find comfort in each other, and it would mean everything to keep them together. This is the hardest decision I’ve had to make. As much as I love them, I’ve come to realize that I’m not home enough, and I don’t have the financial stability right now to give them the full, consistent life they truly deserve. And they deserve so much. They would thrive in a home with a large, fenced-in yard where they can run, play, and just be dogs. They are not good with cats, but they have so much love to give to the right person or family. I am not giving them up—I am trying to give them a better life. One filled with time, space, stability, and unconditional love. Meet Milton!! Just look at that face – who could say no to that?? Well, Milton is sincerely hoping you can’t pass him by because he is anxiously waiting to find the forever family he will spend the rest of his life with! He is the sweetest hound/husky mix you’ll ever meet! He is a wonderful senior with an estimated birthdate of 3/7/20 and he weighs in at about 73 pounds. Milton is heartworm negative, up to date on his vaccines and preventatives, and neutered. He just needs a loving and responsible human to call his own so he can shower them with love, affection, and loyalty. All Milton needs is for YOU to give him a chance to win your heart and become your best friend forever! Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee.
