Cielo loves attention, head rubs, going for runs, and, of course, being first in line for treats. She’s a little spoiled, and she knows it!Despite being a senior, Cielo still has plenty of energy and enjoys staying active. She’s friendly with children and strangers, has shown no aggression, and has no known health concerns.Cielo has spent her entire life alongside her best friend, Rocky. Marko (aka Juggernaut) is a handsome brindle puppy with a sweet, affectionate personality and plenty of playful energy! He loves spending time with his people, whether he’s playing with his favorite toys or snuggling up on the couch. Marko is doing excellent with crate training and very well with potty training. He has learned to sit and is currently working on becoming comfortable with car rides. He has done well with the resident dogs in his foster home and also had a positive experience visiting a cat. This active boy absolutely loves his toys, especially his herding ball, which provides plenty of entertainment! After playtime, he’s more than happy to settle in for some couch cuddles. Marko would do best with an active family and a securely fenced yard where he can safely run and play. As a growing puppy, he’ll need continued training, exercise, enrichment, and consistent guidance. Marko is a wonderful combination of playful energy and loving companionship. He loves to be pet and will sometimes ask for pets by putting his head under your arm. When he’s in the mood for cuddles, his concept of personal space is somewhat lacking and he will lay on the couch on top of people. He is a bit skittish with new people, but gets over it pretty quickly when he realizes there are treats and pets available. He is food motivated but stubborn, so he would do best with a patient owner who can continue with his training. Triscuit has just gone through the long and difficult treatment for heartworm and is very excited to be able to run and play once again! He has husky energy and often gets the zoomies, running in circles until he’s tired. When entertaining himself, he will be sure to pull out every single toy in the toy bin and test them each individually until he is confident he found the best one. He’s smart, energetic, athletic, and full of personality—and he’s looking for a home that understands what that really means. Yuki walks well on a leash and is house-broken. He’s crate trained, though he has occasionally demonstrated his impressive problem-solving skills by getting out of it. He has lots of energy and will need regular exercise and mental stimulation to stay happy. He can jump fences, so a secure yard (or supervised outdoor time) is a must. He enjoys being groomed and doesn’t mind baths, loves to cuddle, and is a big fan of belly rubs. Yuki also gets car sick, so short trips or some patience will be needed there. Yuki should be the only pet in the home—he is definitely not cat-friendly, and his behavior around other dogs or children is currently unknown. Because of his breed traits and energy level, Yuki would do best with an experienced Husky owner or someone who is truly willing to put in the time, training, and commitment this breed requires. In short: Yuki isn’t “too much dog”—he’s just exactly the dog you’d expect when you adopt a Husky. If you’ve got a soft spot for a lovable old soul who know what they like, Milton might be your guy. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee.
