Story
**If you are interested in adopting Yuki, please contact Caleb at caleb1594@gmail.com.** Meet Yuki 🐾 Yuki is a 3-year-old Husky who is, quite frankly, very good at being a Husky. He’s smart, energetic, athletic, and full of personality—and he’s looking for a home that understands what that really means. Yuki walks well on a leash and is house-broken. He’s crate trained, though he has occasionally demonstrated his impressive problem-solving skills by getting out of it. He has lots of energy and will need regular exercise and mental stimulation to stay happy. He can jump fences, so a secure yard (or supervised outdoor time) is a must. He enjoys being groomed and doesn’t mind baths, loves to cuddle, and is a big fan of belly rubs. Yuki also gets car sick, so short trips or some patience will be needed there. Yuki should be the only pet in the home—he is definitely not cat-friendly, and his behavior around other dogs or children is currently unknown. Because of his breed traits and energy level, Yuki would do best with an experienced Husky owner or someone who is truly willing to put in the time, training, and commitment this breed requires. In short: Yuki isn’t “too much dog”—he’s just exactly the dog you’d expect when you adopt a Husky. If you’re ready for an active, clever, affectionate companion and understand that Huskies don’t come with an “off” switch, Yuki might be your perfect match. *This pet is featured through our Pet Re-Homing Program. This is a private pet. Please use your best judgement when deciding to meet. Any questions or comments regarding this pet should be directed to the owner listed. Again, this is not a pet affiliated with Oakland County Animal Shelter. This program was created to help residents of Oakland County needing placement of a loving pet and hopefully avoiding a stressful shelter environment.

Meet Arthur: A Brave Little Husky with a Heart of Gold 🐾 Arthur is an 11 week old, blind and deaf puppy, but his disabilities are no match for his determination and joy! Though he can't see or hear the world around him, he navigates life with confidence, independence, and an infectious zest for living. Arthur LOVES tug of war and will happily entertain himself with toys when you need a break. He's a zoomer at heart—give him a yard and watch him run with pure joy! Despite his high energy, Arthur has mastered the art of crate relaxation, settling down almost immediately when it's rest time. He's even a champion car rider, making him the perfect adventure companion for your family outings. Arthur doesn't let his blindness and deafness slow him down one bit! He's a confident little soul who has figured out how to thrive, and his bravery will absolutely melt your heart. He communicates with the most adorable squeaks and squeals that will have you smiling all day long. Arthur's ideal home would be an active household, ideally with another friendly dog to play and romp with. He's working on basic commands (currently mastering "sit"!) and would benefit from a family committed to continuing his training journey using touch-based cues. Arthur is already crate-trained and does wonderfully when left alone—no separation anxiety here! Arthur is friendly with new people and wants to play with other dogs, food-motivated (gets very excited at mealtimes!), he is still working on potty training when loose in the house! Arthur is neutered, utd on age appropriate vaccines, fecal tested, and microchipped. Apply here to add him to your family! https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster-application

Story
Meet Whisper: Our blind and 10 week old deaf puppy! Don't let her disabilities fool you—Whisper is a fearless, ball of fluff who proves that limitations are just in the mind! This deaf and 90% blind husky puppy navigates her world through touch, vibration, and pure determination, and she's absolutely thriving. The Good Stuff: Whisper is a dream puppy who's already mastered crate training (settles calmly after just 10 minutes!), potty training (even uses puppy pads as backup when needed), and basic commands through touch signals. She's smart as a whip and LOVES learning new things—agility tunnels are her jam! This girl is social butterfly extraordinaire: adores kids of all ages, gets along beautifully with dogs big and small, and peacefully coexists with cats, goats, and chickens. She's independent yet affectionate, entertaining herself with toys but loving cuddles on your chest for naps. Special Perks: Grooming is a breeze—she'll sit for an hour being pampered and actually loves bath time, nail trims, and paw handling (rare for a husky!) Car rides? She's a sleepy angel every time Zero resource guarding, zero separation anxiety, zero fear of anything (because she can't hear or see what might scare other dogs!) Surprisingly quiet for a husky (wonder why? 😉) Knows sit, down, and touch via hand signals What She Needs: Whisper needs an active, patient family who can continue her training journey and provide moderate daily exercise through play sessions and enrichment activities. A slow feeder is recommended for mealtimes. Her ideal home understands that she navigates by feeling vibrations and staying close to her people or fellow pets. She's a puppy, so redirect that chewing to appropriate toys and you're golden! Whisper's Quirks: This brave girl follows you around, adores being held on her back like a baby, and has an unexpected love for fresh spinach! She's proof that the best things come in uniquely wrapped packages. 🐾💙 Whisper is spayed, microchipped, utd on age appropriate vaccines, fecal tested. Apply here to make this wonderful girl your best friend! https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster-application

Story
Meet Benny, the 10-month-old husky who never got the memo that he's supposed to walk like a normal dog. This goofball has decided that running like a bunny is the superior mode of transportation, and honestly? He might be onto something. Benny spent way too long at the city shelter waiting for someone to notice how special he was. When he finally got adopted, the poor guy came back after just two days because of "anxiety." Turns out, he wasn't anxious—he was just in the wrong place. In his foster home, this boy is completely amazing, confident, and anxiety-free, goofy and lovable. He just needed a little understanding and the right environment to let his true personality shine. Benny is convinced every dog he meets is his new best friend, thinks cats are just small fluffy mentors, and believes children are the most important humans on earth (probably because they're at perfect ear-scratching height). This bouncy boy is basically 40 pounds of fluff, enthusiasm, and zero intimidation factor. He'll hop right into your heart, roll over for belly rubs from literally anyone, and spend his days wanting to please you. Benny would do best in a home with other dogs, he needs to burn off energy and he is much more confident when he knows a canine friend is by his side. Benny is nearly housetrained, perfectly crate trained, great on leash and is honestly, a pure joy of a dog. *10 months old *Husky mix (visual guess) *Neutered *UTD on vaccines *Microchipped *Dog, Cat, Kid Friendly Apply here to make this boy your forever friend: https://peaceloveandpawsrescue.com/adopt%2Ffoster-application

Story
Meet Noodles (a.k.a. Nancy)! Hello there! My name is Noodles, but when I get a little mischievous, you can call me Nancy! I was found as a stray in Detroit, and let’s just say it’s been quite a journey. When I first came into rescue, I was shutdown and didn’t know how to be a dog. I was scared of leashes and even of humans. But with lots of love and patience, I’ve come so far and am now ready to find my perfect family! We are unsure exactly how old I am and a lady never discloses that real information, but we're guessing I am around 6 years old. Also, a lady never says her weight, so let's just say I am less than a baby Rhino's weight . Another words, I'm perfectly imperfect.  I’ll be honest—sometimes I’m still a scaredy cat and fear my own shadow. But when I’m with my favorite humans, I shine ! It may take me some time to trust you, but I can assure you I am worth the wait! When you are my person, you are the love of my life. I am forever unconditionally yours. You will never have another loyal best friend like me.  I’m housebroken and sleep wherever I feel most comfortable—whether it’s curled up on the bed, snuggled on the floor, or snuggled in my own bed. Have you heard of Noodle sandwich? It's when my two favorite people are on each side of me giving me hugs and kisses! It's one of my absolute favorite lovins time.  While I rarely bark, I do let my humans know when it’s potty time or when I’m ready for some fun. The outdoors? Well, I’m not a big fan, to be honest. I’ll tell you when I’m ready to come back inside, thank you very much! An introverted home is my dream, and I would thrive with a family who understands my need for a quiet, calm environment. I’m not into exercise or long walks—what I really want is a cozy fenced yard where I can enjoy the fresh air while staying cool inside. I tend to get stressed around small children, so older humans or a quiet household without kids would be the best fit for me. Oh, and I prefer to be the only pet in the house—I really don’t like sharing attention! It's not that I am aggressive with other dogs. It's simple, I am an introvert and do not wish to socialize with other four-legged kind. Sadly, when I was found, the vet discovered I was heartworm positive. Thankfully, I have gone through heartworm treatment and am now ready to enjoy my life with a loving family. I’m looking for humans who appreciate the retirement lifestyle, those who want to relax at home, and perhaps not have a lot of company over. If you think you could be the perfect person to help me live my best life, I can’t wait to meet you!     DewormedHeartworm Survivor!Receiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedSpayed ADOPTION FEE: SPONSORED IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lupin is a lovely pup with a lot of energy. He loves to run around the yard and loves going camping. He is good with adults and older children (10 and up) but not so much with younger kids. Lupin gets along with other dogs but only for a short period of time until he kicks into alpha mode and starts to push them around. He absolutely cannot be around cats. We love Lupin to death and wish we could keep him but we have been trying to acclimate him to our 2 year old son for the last 2 years and it just isn't working. It is in the best interest of ourselves and Lupin that we find him a forever home where he doesn't have to be separated from his family and can live freely amongst them. Please Contact Lupin's owner directly with the contact information below. Owner will be asking for a home visit meet and greet as well as rehoming fee. thekochuts@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ********************************************************************************** We show some of our adoptable dogs at PetSmart, Utica, each Saturday between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm.  Cats typically don't do well at events, so they only attend with a pre-approved meet and greet appointment.
