Story
While summer may be around the corner, we still have a touch of winter here at the shelter with this cool dude. Arctic, with his piercing ice blue eyes, is the true definition of a husky; aloof, curious, and an escape artist, so breed experience is preferred. At 3-years-old, this mysterious man prefers minimal handling to keep his personal bubble intact. He marches to the beat of his own drum, exploring the unknown, but if that rhythm gets you grooving, then this may be your guy. At his own leisure, he may give some gentle nibble kisses, just not too many as to not damage his “cool guy” reputation. If you are ready to join his pack, the Monmouth County SPCA is open for walk-ins every day, starting at noon!

Story
Pickles is a courtesy post. Please fill out an application at rescueridge.com   and your information will be sent to his family who needs to rehome him. Monmouh County, NJ. Here is the information from his family:"Loves people of all ages and wants to be with you and play. He loves other dogs but not sure about cats so I say no cats. He is about 1 year old now. According to the vet, he’s a Mix. He’s Husky/Stafford Pit and perhaps Shepherd. Short hair dog. He would be great with other dogs so he can play. Knows "Sit" and "Paw." Needs room to run around. The only reason my sister needs to find him a home is because he jumps. My sister is on a cane and not sturdy. She has fallen and can no longer take chances that she will get hurt badly. He may need some training in that area. He does know some commands. He has been in a kennel but not in crate. He has gone to someone’s house who house sits about 6 dogs or so at a time. He loved it and the woman had no issues with him. He played all the time with the other dogs and even her two great Danes. I would say he’s high-energy type. He has a fear of cars, getting into a car, because he was dumped a few times by previous owner who did not take the time to be with him and dumped him on his ex who then did not want him either." Please apply to help this dog-friendly, sweet young pup find the right family to love him. Please text 732 546 8805 to let us know you applied and we will alert his owner. .Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 20, 2024, 12:07 pm

Story
Puma's Key Attributes: Loving, Adventurous, Silly, Outgoing Summary: Puma is a friendly, energetic, affectionate, and snuggly fella. He enjoys playing with toys and loves to play fetch. Puma thrives with regular exercise, including a daily park excursion with sniffing and exploring; he loves investigating the woods/streams/fields. Puma also likes to just lounge around in the yard and soak up the sun. Puma really enjoys being with his people, including laying in your lap like a cat, but he also does very well alone in his own room. He is currently living in a foster home and house-trained. Other Dogs: Puma loves other dogs and is a bit obnoxious at first due to his excitement. He will do best with slow, well-managed introductions with other dogs that handle his antics in a playful but stern manner. Once Puma relaxes a bit, he is an enjoyable walking buddy and playmate for other dogs. He would also do great as a solo-pup in the household. Self-Entertainment Activities Puma Enjoys: Food Puzzles, Chews/Bones, Squeaky Toys, Stuffies, Cardboard Boxes, Empty Plastic Bottles Background: Puma was found as a stray in Philadelphia in November 2023. His finders learned that was too enthusiastic about their cats, so he was taken to Philly ACCT. Puma was adopted for about a month, but the newborn baby in the home was allergic to him, so he was returned to ACCT in late December 2023. Puma was timestamped for euthanasia, so Northern Exposure Siberian Husky Rescue welcomed him into their foster-based rescue on 12/30/23. Story
Meet Nala (mama) and Fou Fou (baby). We rescued Nala after being in the shelter for 41 days and came into the shelter with a microchip. The shelter reached out to the owner and the owner said “she is not breeding with my male, so I don’t want her”, all she ever knew was that house hold and then was dropped in the shelter. She was extremely lost and would not even walk up the the gate, she had seen so many dogs come in and out. We rescued her and took her to her foster home, a couple days into having her, we had the sweetest surprise, she was pregnant!! Fou Fou was born and is so healthy and happy! She would have been euthanized, which means her and the baby were going to no longer be living. She is the best mama and loves her baby! They are both looking for homes and are hoping to find them sooner than later! Info on each one below ⬇️! Nala (mama) is a 3 year old Siberian husky. She is so very sweet and loves going for walks! She is great in her crate and is pretty much house broken. She is great with other dogs, cats, kids and other people. She is up to date on all her vaccines, microchipped and dewormed. She will be fixed once adopted. She is is hoping you apply! Fou Fou (baby) is a 7 week old husky mix and is so playful and full of personality! She is extremely sweet and loves treats! She is up to date on all her vaccines, microchipped and dewormed! She is definitely a favorite of everyone and is extremely intelligent! She loves her mama and loves giving kisses! Pleade apply if you’re interested in this sweetie!
