Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.THEO was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and  arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Friday, 14th February. We post our available dogs in states across the east coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes to find perfect homes and families. We do not transport dogs, families must come to the rescue to meet and then hopefully take home. THEO is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly flea/tick prevention and was given the 12 month pro-heart heartworm prevention injection in February 2025. He is microchipped and on 12 February weighed 50.20 pounds. He has an estimated date of birth of December 2022.  We do not know what the breed is, we expect families to decide looking at any pictures and video's provide and decide if the breed is a good fit for their family. Theo does have "Partial Heterochromia, also referred to as Sectoral Heterochromia" which is when part of the iris is a different colour than the rest of the eye. In Theo's case, it is the ice blue, which is common in the husky breeds and adds a beautiful uniqueness to his already stunning face. The shelter volunteer (21 January) stated friendly but a bit nervous as well, approached me, sniffed my hands and allowed me to pet him, offered him a treat but was not interested in them, semi walks on leash, would try pulling back licking his lips.  (25 January) he came out to the yard and was freezing to greets and was very unsure not understanding what was going on because he would just try to stay on his own wanting to get away from the other dogs.   (Rescue comments - it is important to take into account when reading these comments that these dogs are in a strange environment with a lot of dogs, and they are learning about each other in a very small space of time, it is high stimulation environment, also often the first time they have had exercise with other dogs.  Comments are from volunteers, not trainers or behavio rists). We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. THEO is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $250, as noted he is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this sweet boy. Applications are processed with 24 hours of them being received. Story
Meet Lucky! Lucky is a male husky who was pulled by Husky House from a kill shelter when he was on the euthanasia list. Lucky is an energetic dog who loves to play! He does have some resource guarding tendencies with food and treats, so he would do best in an adult only home who can help him work on this. Lucky has been reported to do well with dogs and will be introduced to dogs at Husky House once he is more settled in and relaxed. Lucky is also nervous on leash and needs a home with a fenced in yard while he continues to work on leash training. Interested in adopting Lucky? Please visit www.huskyhouse.org today to fill out an application.November 17, 2024, 9:57 pm

Story
Meet Fenrir! Fenrir is a female husky who was found as a stray and brought to a county shelter. She wasn’t claimed by a previous owner and didn’t have a chip, so she was pulled by Husky House. Fenrir is a happy, friendly pup who is great with people. She is also good with other dogs her size although her energy may be overwhelming for more mellow pups. Fenrir has never been tested with small dogs or cats. Interested in adopting Fenrir? Please visit www.huskyhouse.org today to fill out an application.May 10, 2025, 3:45 pm

Story
Meet Ruby! Ruby is a petite husky (she weighs just 33lbs) who is looking for her loving forever home. Ruby has luxated patellas on both of her back knees, and her previous owners called 911 to get rid of her one day as they were no longer willing to help with her disability, which led to her being brought to the ACC. Husky House pulled her upon hearing about this, as alumni Ripple and Whopper both had the same condition and did great with surgery. She has gotten surgery on her first knee and has completely healed from the procedure, and Husky House is working with veterinarians to determine if surgery is an option for her other knee. Ruby is a very sweet, affectionate pup who loves people and other dogs. She even used to live with a cat, so she’s cat friendly! Interested in adopting Ruby?
