There is an adorable video of me on social media! Click here to experience the cuteness! What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me.I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!I will need daily physical activity to keep me healthy and happy!I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.My foster wrote: Meet Kona, the ultimate companion dog who's ready to bring love, loyalty, and a whole lot of fun into your life! This handsome boy, with his striking blue eyes and gentle demeanor, is as sweet as they come. Kona is the kind of dog who will follow you from room to room, always wanting to be by your side-your own little shadow. He's incredibly obedient and smart, knowing an impressive list of commands including "sit," "paw," "other paw," "spin," "lie down," "go to crate," "wait," "drop it," "speak," and more. Whether you're in the mood for an adventurous walk, a game of fetch (his favorite!), or just a lazy cuddle on the couch, Kona will match your energy with ease. He's gentle, affectionate, and good with kids-even toddlers-and his food motivation makes him very responsive to training and redirection if needed. Housebroken and easy-going, Kona is a joy to have in the home. He's calm and tolerant when handled, including having his paws and tail touched, and while he may show interest in nearby dogs, a simple treat brings his focus right back to you. He does get excited around squirrels and cats and may try to chase them, but this is something we're actively working on. Kona thrives on connection and loves meeting new people. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and well-mannered dog who can go from playmate to cuddle buddy in an instant, Kona is your guy. Don't miss the chance to welcome this incredible pup into your heart and home! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Gray Weight: 65 Age: 5yrs 3mths 0wks

There is an adorable video of me on social media! Click here to experience the cuteness! Allie is a sharp and spirited husky enrolled in our Shelter Scholars program, where she's working on basic manners, learning some cool tricks, and diving into one of her favorite outlets-agility! As a working breed, Allie thrives when she has a job to do, and she's always eager to engage in new challenges (sometimes a little too clever for her own good). She's incredibly motivated, quick to learn, and full of potential-even if she can be a bit aloof and impatient at times. Allie is being set up for success in her foster or forever home, where she'll need both mental and physical enrichment to keep her happy, focused, and flourishing. My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: Allie is such a gem! She is so sweet and playful and loves to walk. As we walked, people commented on how beautiful she is, and we couldn't agree more. We explored Central Park and she excitedly trotted around, regularly looking back to check in with my friend and I to make sure she was doing a good job. She is incredibly sweet and we found out quickly how cuddly she is - when we stopped on a park bench to rest, she leaned against my legs and then put her head in my lap, asking for pets and ear scratches. She loved meeting strangers and would jump up to give them kisses, licking their hands. She might do well with a home with older children, given her tendency to jump up when saying hello. She would also do well with continued training and enrichment to learn great leash manners. She is a perfect 10 and I'm so happy for the family that gets to be with her. What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.I need a home where there are no other dogs.I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.I will need daily physical activity to keep me healthy and happy! My foster writes: Meet Snowcone, the charming husky with a personality as cool as his name and a heart as big as his boundless energy! This adventurous guy is the ultimate snuggle-buddy; if you're on the couch, he'll climb into your lap, leaning in for pets with the confidence of a dog who knows he's irresistible. He's a bit of a local celebrity too-Snowcone has a fascination with water that's led him to star in countless tourist photos as he jumps up on Central Park's water fountains, expecting you to hold the water for him.Snowcone's quirks are as delightful as they are unique. Before bedtime, he'll do his "nesting" routine, digging and bouncing on his spot until it's just right, even though his space is a couch and not a patch of grass! And like any true husky, he's a talker, greeting you each morning with his signature "awoo, awoo, awoo" and a wagging tail that could brighten anyone's day.He would thrive in an active home that understands his love for adventure and play-ideally with a yard, another energetic dog friend, or an owner who's ready to embrace Snowcone's zest for life. I find in NYC he needs around 1.5 hours of walking a day to not be too excitable at night. If you're looking for a smart, opinionated, and endlessly lovable companion, Snowcone is ready to be your loyal partner in all things fun and fabulous!   adoption donation : $650 weight 35 lbs Age 5 months as of 4/20   Helena and her sisters Harriet and Hattie are adorable puppies who may be husky mixes but are most definitely adorable, friendly and sweet girls! They are having a grand time in his foster home, romping and playing at Wags and snuggling together in a big puppy pile to nap. Harriet and Helena look practically identical, Hattie is the blond. Their brother Henry has already been adopted.  The puppies were found by a truck driver in a rural part of Mississippi, abandoned in a deserted field. Two of the siblings had already sadly passed away. The driver gathered up the remaining pups and brought them to Wags. Since then, the three girls have thrived, getting the vet care, food and vaccines that they need. They are friendly and loving and will make great family dogs. They are also very mellow! They like to run and play outside but at home they are couch potatoes!  Hattie, Helena and Harriet are currently in Mississippi and would love to board the transport anytime in the next couple of weeks and head to the northeast! These darling girls are ready to give sloppy kisses to the lucky family who adopts him. Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs. Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay neuter.
