Story
Meet Amara, our stunning 6-month-old Husky with captivating bright blue eyes! True to her breed, Amara is bursting with puppy energy and a love for playful antics. She's a spirited young girl who delights in romping around and pushing her boundaries, making every day an adventure. While Amara is a pretty girl with a heart full of joy, she currently has no manners and needs basic obedience training to become the well-behaved companion she has the potential to be. Due to her exuberant nature, Amara would do best in a home with children who are 12 years of age or older. Amara is still learning how to make dog friends and would thrive in a home with a very social and corrective dog who can show her the ropes. She needs a patient and experienced owner who can provide the guidance and structure she needs. Additionally, Amara requires a cat-free home. If you're ready to welcome a lively, loving pup into your life and have the dedication to help her grow into the best dog she can be, Amara is waiting to meet you!

Story
Heath is the unicorn of huskies.  Heath is a 4 year old male husky that weighs 51 pounds.  He was found as a stray and no one ever claimed him.  We have never had a husky quite like him.  Heath is the chill-est husky ever known to mankind.  This guy is so gentle and quiet that you don’t know he’s at the shelter.  He sleeps in the funniest positions-sometimes with his head tilted backwards and other times with his head smooshed up against the wall.  He is black and white with the palest blue eyes.  I am pretty sure Lou Reed was writing about Heath in the legendary hit song “Pale Blue Eyes.”  He walks well on leash.  Please keep in mind that Heath may be more active in a home environment but from what he has shown at the shelter, he is one chill good husky.    Heath has been in a foster home for the past several weeks.  His foster mom is working on getting him housetrained.  We have a feeling he may have lived outside prior to coming to the shelter.  Heath uses a belly band in the home and has no accidents with #1.  He loves affection and really only needs a nice comfy bed and some TLC.  He has shown great potential with other dogs.  In fact, Heath is being fostered with a female dog his size and he has developed quite a love affair for his foster sibling.  He is also fostered with cats and ignores cats.  As always, a meet and greet with your resident canine is required.   Fenced in yard is recommended.  Another fun fact about Heath--He is totally oblivious to fireworks!  Heath is available for adoption.  He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.  Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an adoption application online to meet Heath.  Heath’s adoption fee is $160.  Get your applications in, Heath won’t be around long.        Like Parma Animal Shelter on FACEBOOK and help pass the word about our adoptable guests!  Don't forget to share pictures with your friends!  Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/ParmaAnimalShel   Submit an application to adopt on our website parmashelter.org           July 20, 2024, 11:23 am

Story
Raina is 6 years old, she is an amazing family dog. She is great with kids but prefers adult attention. Loves constant pets and snuggles. Likes to chase cats so we keep her separated from them. She loves long hikes with lots of hills to climb. We really aren't too sure how she would do with another dog in the house so we can't say for sure. Details can be discussed. She has never been aggressive towards anyone in the 5 years we have had her, she loves company and new people!
