Story
Oden will be patiently waiting at the shelter for his forever family. Introducing Oden, a 4.5 year old Siberian Husky with a laid-back and easygoing personality. Oden enjoys taking leisurely walks and is great on a leash, making him an excellent companion for outdoor adventures. He gets alone well with both dogs and cats, showcasing his friendly and adaptable nature. One of Oden's favorite activities is being brushed, which helps keep his beautiful coat in top condition. However, he's a bit of an escape artist and can break out of standard crates, so he will need a heavy-duty crate to ensure his safety. With his calm demeanor and love for companionship, Oden is sure to be a wonderful addition to any active family looking for a loyal and loving friend. If you think Oden has stolen your heart, bring your family and canine companions to the shelter during open hours to meet him. Please note a meet and greet with other dogs in the home is required before adoption can be completed.

Story
Heath is the unicorn of huskies.  Heath is a 4 year old male husky that weighs 51 pounds.  He was found as a stray and no one ever claimed him.  We have never had a husky quite like him.  Heath is the chill-est husky ever known to mankind.  This guy is so gentle and quiet that you don’t know he’s at the shelter.  He sleeps in the funniest positions-sometimes with his head tilted backwards and other times with his head smooshed up against the wall.  He is black and white with the palest blue eyes.  I am pretty sure Lou Reed was writing about Heath in the legendary hit song “Pale Blue Eyes.”  He walks well on leash.  Please keep in mind that Heath may be more active in a home environment but from what he has shown at the shelter, he is one chill good husky.    Heath has been in a foster home for the past several weeks.  His foster mom is working on getting him housetrained.  We have a feeling he may have lived outside prior to coming to the shelter.  Heath uses a belly band in the home and has no accidents with #1.  He loves affection and really only needs a nice comfy bed and some TLC.  He has shown great potential with other dogs.  In fact, Heath is being fostered with a female dog his size and he has developed quite a love affair for his foster sibling.  He is also fostered with cats and ignores cats.  As always, a meet and greet with your resident canine is required.   A home and fenced in yard is recommended.  Another fun fact about Heath--He is totally oblivious to fireworks!  Heath is available for adoption.  He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.  Please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and fill out an adoption application online to meet Heath.  Heath’s adoption fee is $160.  Get your applications in, Heath won’t be around long.        Like Parma Animal Shelter on FACEBOOK and help pass the word about our adoptable guests!  Don't forget to share pictures with your friends!  Submit an application to adopt on our website parmashelter.org           July 26, 2024, 7:55 am

Story
Navajo ….. this boy is near perfect. No Husky drama. No talking back. He is so easy going. Whatever you throw at him, he just rolls with it. Navajo is a fun, playful, silly boy. He LOVES to be fussed over. He literally eats up all the attention and keeps coming back for more. He is an expert at working the room for pets and ‘ooh what a good boy’s :) :) :) Sometimes, he jumps up so he is up close and personal with you :) He is a level 5 out of 5 for friendliness, sweetness, and affectionateness :) We try to mediate affection time as Navajo can get over stimulated quickly and when he does, he belts out a soft growl and goes for little lovebites. Navajo’s love for life is the same with dogs. He loves every dog. Navajo is 3 years old, 50lb. He is looking for a family who doesn’t mind a little husky fur on their furniture, include him in family adventures and activities and lots of love and cuddles.
