She can be a little shy when meeting new people or experiencing new situations, but with a little patience and time, she warms up into an oh-so-sweet and loving companion. Wheaties would do best in a home with older children and no cats. She absolutely loves playing with other like-sized dogs and has a blast joining her friends in our daily playgroup. Meet Mighty, a 4-year-old black-and-white Husky with a big personality, a big heart, and enough energy to keep you moving all day long. Mighty is a male black and white husky that weighs 51 pounds. Mighty came to us as an owner surrender when his previous family’s work schedule meant he was left alone for most of the day. Now, this affectionate fellow is hoping to find a home where he can be part of the action — because Mighty would much rather be your adventure buddy than a home-alone kind of guy. No apartments please. A home with a fenced in yard would be ideal. When it comes to affection, Mighty is an A+ cuddler. He loves attention, enjoys snuggling, and is generally an easy-going, friendly guy. And, like many Huskies, he has a lot to say. Mighty is an active boy who LOVES being outside. Walks? Yes, please! Hiking? Absolutely! Adventures? He has a high energy level and will happily walk forever. He does tend to pull on leash, though, so he would benefit from some basic training to help him learn his leash manners. The good news? Mighty already knows how to `sit and give paw,` so he’s ready to show off what he knows and learn even more. At home, Mighty is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night. He would do best with older children because he can be protective of his food and may growl if someone approaches while he’s eating. As with all shelter dogs, his compatibility with cats, other dogs, and children is currently unknown and should be thoughtfully assessed. Mighty is also available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which means you can welcome this handsome guy into your home while he completes his veterinary care. His care will include vaccines, a microchip, heartworm testing, and neutering. So, are you ready for a handsome, affectionate, energetic Husky who will happily join you on every outdoor adventure — and probably have plenty to say about it along the way? They’re known for their beautiful coats, expressive faces, and fun, playful personalities. Bobo is hoping to find a loving home where he can get plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship. The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs if you already have a dog. Duke is a sweet, affectionate dog who loves attention, hikes, walks, brushing, scratches, tug-of-war, and spending time with his people. He is crate trained, can be left home alone during the workday, and knows basic commands like sit, down, and come. He's smart, trainable, and would thrive with someone who enjoys working with dogs and getting outdoors. I'm rehoming Duke because what was originally supposed to be a temporary arrangement has become permanent, and I can't give him the time, exercise, and training he deserves. To be successful, Duke needs an experienced owner. He can be vocal around children and has a history of warning nips when pushed beyond his comfort level, particularly around nail trimming and paw handling. He has also shown aggression toward a couple of adult male dogs in the past, so careful introductions and management are important. Duke isn't a dog for every home, but for the right persohe's a loyal companion with a lot of love to give.
