Story
Harry and Eleanor?? Such SERIOUS names for a couple of goofy pups! We came from a somewhat sad and seriously MESSED up place but now we may be a little shy but we are definitely NOT SERIOUS :) We are JRT/Rat Terrier mixed siblings, each of us is cute and loving in our own right. Under 15# of absolute adorableness is who we are. We are both still a little nervous, I mean we came from a pretty horrific situation so know that we were not handled and loved on until the last month or so in our foster home... but we are learning so much and having a blast! We are great together but do not have to be adopted together. We will need at least another dog with us to show us the ropes and keep us company in our new family. We are good with everyone so that will be pretty easy :) Look one of us up and ADOPT...DON'T SHOP!!! SO MANY LIVES' DEPEND ON IT!! Local adoption fee is $350 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $600 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rocky My name is Rocky. I was abandoned when my owners moved away. I don't know why they left me behind. But fortunately, I was fortunate enough to be found by kind people who helped me get my life back on track. I am a healthy and strong 5.5-year-old who gets along well with other dogs. I'm looking for a nice couple or an adult to be my forever companion. Sorry, I'm not sure about kids, as they tend to scare me. I have been neutered, microchipped, and I am up-to-date on my vaccines. I also had a complete dental check-up on November 29th, 2023.  I'm currently in Washington, having moved here from California, and I'm eagerly waiting to find my forever family. Cheryl, the founder of the rescue that took care of me, says that I have dreamy eyes and a sweet personality. I'm also very intelligent. However, I may be a bit shy and nervous initially because of all the scary experiences I've had in my life. But if you're patient and gentle with me, I promise to be your BFF forever. I do tend to like woman more then men but if a couple adopts me, just give me the time I need to get to know the man of the home and we can be good buddies. The rescue organization that is helping me find my new home says that I need a patient and experienced person who understands that trust takes time to build. I don't give my love easily, but when I do, you'll have my whole heart. I growl at strangers in the home, but with fear-free training, patience, and love, I can learn to trust again. I'm a love bucket waiting to be filled with affection from my new companion. I trust women more than men, but I can learn to trust anyone who is kind and caring. How Can You Meet Rocky? Please use this link to apply, One of our volunteers will review the application and call to follow up with questions, answer yours, and see if you are a match  Rocky has been transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble in place of a healthy canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate his adopters on proper diet and nutrition for him and his new buddies. To apply to adopt Rocky, he has a $550.00 adoption fee.  All monies will be recycled to cover medical care and rescue more dogs. Please fill out the online application using this link.  Please be thorough in your answers and expound whenever possible so we get to know you and can make the best match.       https ://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 22, 2024, 9:43 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. SOPHIES' JOURNEY. Sophie was discovered as a young puppy wandering the streets of Bakersfield. Sadly, her head was covered in injuries caused by an unknown animal. The rescue team that found her took her to the vet and discovered that Sophie was blind. She was in a vulnerable state, and it was shocking to think that she had been wandering the streets blind, alone, hungry, and scared. Anna, a rescuer and sister to Shannon, who runs Emm and Mals Animal Sanctuary and has been caring for Sophie, called and asked if Rompin Paws Rescue would take Sophie and place her in a loving home. Sophie is 1-year-old, spayed and current on vaccines. She is the sweetest dog you will ever meet. She loves to bond to a woman and can be slowly introduced to men and she will be fine. Sophie learns her environment quickly and navigates it so well you would scarcely know she is blind. It will not be easy to walk her on a lead, so having a good size yard that she can run in circles and play while under supervision is the best scenario for her. She lives to chew on her split deer antler and squeaky toys. Sophie wags her tail furiously in anticipation when you are entering a room, she is so happy to know you are there. If you love a snuggle pup and have the time to spend with this wonderful girl, then you may just be a match. Update: We recently introduces Sophie to two very friendly Maltese-poodles and once she realized they were not going to hurt her, they quickly became friends. Sophie is so pleased to have dog buddies to share her days here at the rescue. How Can You Meet Sophie? Story
Dapper 8-year-old Jax loves jogging, playing ball, running with stuffed toys, and taking long walks, but inside he's a sensitive soul. A sturdy 25-lb. rat terrier, Jax is a sweet boy whose behavior can be affected by anxiety. His adopter needs the knowledge and empathy to create an environment that helps him live his best life. It's something he richly deserves, for Jax is a cancer survivor, who had a mast cell tumor removed last spring and has since been found to be cancer free.   In his foster home, Jax adjusted to routines quickly. He follows the lead of the resident dogs and plays well with the other dog being fostered there. However, he's sensitive to incursions into his space, unrequested touching, or the possibility of losing valued resources, such as food or a bed. He can get into minor scuffles to protect what he considers his. New people must earn his trust before he'll consider allowing a pet or two. He doesn't like to be picked up at all and will bite if he's touched in a way the he perceives as painful or threatening. (He's muzzled if he has to be extensively handled.) On the other hand, he likes to nap close to his humans and the other dogs but does best sleeping in his own bed. He could be a single dog or live with one other dog who is independent or at least honors boundaries. Due to his moderate prey drive, Jax probably shouldn't live with cats or other small pets.   Ever since Jax started a hypoallergenic diet (cost about $50/month) to ease skin rashes and ear infections from a chicken allergy, he has seemed less anxious and more eager to cuddle. In addition, when he gets enough mental stimulation and physical exercise, he doesn't engage in repetitive barking, another manifestation of anxiety.    Jax definitely doesn't like to be crated, but he is fully house-trained and has never had an indoor accident, raided the trash, or counter surfed, so a crate really isn't needed. On leashed walks, he pulls a bit and loves to stop and sniff, but on jogs, he keeps up the pace. He'll be a wonderful companion for the person with the heart to appreciate his sensitive soul. See more photos of Jax at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/jax .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Story
Hi, I am Shadow,They say that black dogs have a harder time getting adopted. I am not sure why because I think black is beautiful. I am an adult around 4 years old. I have lost all that puppy naughtiness, but I still love to play and cuddle and generally be a good girl. I will need some patience because I have a lot to learn when it comes to even the basics, but I am a quick study. Oh, and treats usually help with the learning. I am an active dog who would love to go for a good run every day. If you are a hiker, I think I would love that too. I am good with leash walking; I try not to pull and stay close to you. I like to play with other dogs once I am properly introduced. I haven’t been around children much and cats are made to be chased. Only my opinion! Right now, I spend most of my time outside because my foster mom works, but when I am inside, I know not to do any business in the house that is only for outside.I haven’t had many toys, I am content with a stick or a plastic bottle. Maybe you could teach me to chase a ball and bring it back to you. That would be fun!If it sounds like we could be a family together then just fill out the application and we can meet on a Zoom call.Could I be your little,Shadow To get more information go to https://hope4lapawz.org/adopt and click on the dog's photo.
