Story
I found Lady near Skid Row in DTLA in August of 2020. It was one of those extremely hot days over 100 degrees and she was just wandering around aimlessly. She was tired, dirty, skinny, and walking with a limp from scorched paws. I thought when you called a dog rescue they come pick the dog up no questions asked, but all the rescues I spoke to either wouldn't take her or needed to know how she looked and acted so they could adopt her out and make money off of her. She was not in good shape at that point, so I figured I would nurse her back to health and foster her until I found the right forever home. Well three years later and she's still with me! I never wanted a dog or intended on keeping her. I love and care for Lady, but I want her to be in a home with someone who absolutely loves dogs and wants to be with her all the time. She is super sweet, doesn't bark, doesn't jump, doesn't need extreme exercise, and loves cats and kids. She just doesn't get along with other dogs right away.

Story
Adoption Fee - $75. Weight - 50 Pounds. Age - 6 Years Old. Duke is a highly intelligent, active , loyal boy. He is an only dog and good for an active family. He loves being outdoors and taking long walks or hikes with his people. He requires a strong handler who can put him through all the training he has learned from Rob at The Bully Squad (see their Instagram page the bully squad). Duke comes with 2 FREE training lessons with The Bully Squad. He also comes with an 8 page owners manual. Duke needs a patient , loving family who have time and patience to let his wonderful personality shine through. Indoors , Duke is super chill and enjoys being in his comfy bed. He is also a cuddle bug indoors once he knows and trusts his family. He needs a family that does not have a lot of visitors coming in and out of the house. He does protect his family and territory. An apartment or home would be equally good for Duke as long as he can be active and taken on long walks.  Some of the training commands Duke knows are : Sit, Stay, Down, Paw or Other Paw, Place, Ok, Drop It, Leave It, Touch, Heel, and Go To Bed. Duke is house and crate trained and good with children 12 years old and older. He does need anxiety meds and if left alone all day will be fine as along as he is given his medication. Duke is slow to trust ( characteristic of the Jindo breed) but once trust is built up, he is loving and cuddly and your best friend. Duke is a loyal, active, loving, wonderful boy and deserves a forever loving family to call his own. Please give him the chance to thrive. If interested in adopting Duke, kindly fill out the application found here: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions In filling out this adoption application, I understand that Ozzie and Friends Rescue cannot guarantee that the dog applied for is yours to adopt upon completion of application. We also want to disclaim that all dogs are rescued so we cannot 100% know the exact breed.June 9, 2023, 8:25 pm

Story
▶Name: 부끄 (BOOKKU) ▶Age:? 13mths ▶Gender:? neutered Female ▶Weight: 20kg ▶Breed: Jindo mix ▶Dog: -Loves dog friends but is super careful at first takes some time to adjust around new friends. Sometimes gets too excited but knows how to kneel down and? wait at times esp when dog is smaller in size. -Bookkuu knows how to control her play energy according to her companion. -When smaller dogs bark loudly at Bookuu, she gets scared and moves out of the way. -Bookkuu sometimes growls and shows discomfort when other dogs(esp new dogs) show interest to her belongings or abruptly comes to sniff. -If Bookku gets to excited, command her to sit and she will ease down and watch the dog go its way. ▶Cat: -Bookku is very gentle towards most animals. Cats are one of them. When she meets a house cat she stays very gentle and calm shows curiosity and wants to sniff but gets hit by the cat most of the time . However when she sees a wild cat outdoors she goes after to chase it, but not to hunt. ▶Adults: -Bookku is very cautious around strangers which requires some time for her to inspect. But when introduced she stays calm. -She likes people who come gentle towards her and lends their hand to sniff. -Recognizes people she’s seen more than twice and wags her tail and sniffs. -She barks at specific type of adults esp man in dark color clothes. And whoever is running fast towards her. -Likes female better than male( gets a bit scared at times). ▶Kids: - Bookku is a bit scared of kids especially when they run towards her. She may growl and bark or either tends to keep a distance. But when she gets famililar she stays around and stays calm. -Was scared of Foster house son, but after a month and a half, he became Bookku’s best mate. -Never once barked or bit foster parent son. ▶Potty trained: Outdoors/Indoors are both possible. And can use pad indoors. Potty train was easy to train. Bookku prefers outdoors more than indoors on grass, leaves, and dirt. ▶Ok on leash: Stays super calm when putting up both leash and harness. She loves going out for walks, but since foster house is located in a busy street of downtown with lots of people, this got her nervous everytime. But has been gradually improving. She has shown great improvement during foster care period. With constantly challenging new areas with patience she has gained a lot of confidence. ▶Energy Level : 7(Outdoors) 3(inside the house mostly sleeps or rests) ▶Barker: Barks only to unexpected strangers at the door on to a visitor(Only when foster mom is around). She may bark once or twice but instantly calms down when introduced. This may be her way of protecting her owner and herself but can be educated and trained. Foster parents had no problem inviting guests home. Just had to hold her back and introduce her to guests by letting her sniff? their belongings and hand. She then soon goes minds her own business. ▶Separation anxiety: -Did not show any separation anxiety when left alone. Foster parents always left her a big bone to chew on with her favorite toy. -Very quiet and calm around the house when alone. -Hasn't caused any trouble ▶Whether to escape : Has not tried to escape. Bookku loves taking walks in quiet grassy areas and always checks on her guardian if he/she is catching up. But she can hype up sometimes when she sees stray cats running away. ▶Rescue Story (if you know): She has been rescued in the junk yard of a suburb area where she has been fed leftovers in a small cage to be eaten or sold as dog meat. ▶Brief write up (personality, what would be the ideal home?): Bookku is very cautious around new surroundings which requires some time for her to adjust.. Bookku is very intelligent. She is mostly quiet around the house and barely causes any house troubles. She always follows her guardian wherever and waits very patiently. She is super loyal in a very soft way. Her best interest is her owner. Her energy level is pretty low around the house and havent seen her get angry or annoyed at anyone. She will be suitable in a household where she can receive lots of love and patience.? She is good with kids but requires some time to adjust at first. Bookuu loves taking family walks, i think she feels more confident taking walks as a whole. She can manage long walks hiking etc. Loves playing with other dogs but being the only dog around the house would be nice too. Looking for a family who can mend her heart. It will take time for her to adjust but she we definitely return it back. Note: If she gets scared or nervous. By holding her and humming the happy birthday song gently like a lullaby will help her ease or go to sleep

Story
-Rescue Story: She has been rescued in the junk yard of a suburb area where she has been fed leftovers in a small cage to be eaten or sold as dog meat. -Potty trained: Outdoors/Indoors are both possible, She prefers outdoors more than indoors on grassy areas. - Walks Queen knows it’s time to go out for a walk when she sees the leash. She sometimes pulls on the leash on walks but generally walks well. However, she can get scared by unfamiliar people or loud noises, so it's necessary to double up with a harness when walking in quiet places. -Energy Level She is not very high-energy, so 1-2 walks of about an hour each or spending 1-2 hours at a dog park should be sufficient. However, when she hasn't expended all of her energy, he tends to run around the house or chew on things. - Relationship with People She relies deeply on foster parents and enjoys the affection and touch of her family. She gets scared of unfamiliar people and tends to run away or hide, and this applies to children as well. However, with frequent exposure and experiences, she is gradually becoming more comfortable and has never shown any aggression or annoyance towards people in any situation. - Relationship with Cats Briefly sniffs and shows no interest. Even when she sees stray cats, she doesn't chase after them. - Relationship with Dogs Bonds well with foster family’s dogs and knows how to share food. She only briefly sniffs unfamiliar dogs and shows little interest but tends to get scared and run away when a new dog approaches with big actions. - Bark Doesn’t not bark outside but let goes a few barks in the house when hearing of an unfamiliar noise. - Anxiety Crys when left alone in the house, ( Being trained) - Brief write up (personality, what would be the ideal home?): Queen is fearful of unfamiliar environments and strangers, but deep inside, she relies on humans and seeks love and affection. It would be great if she could live in a place with a cheerful sibling dog, as she gets along well with other dogs. It would also be ideal to have a patient and understanding home that can wait for her to adapt and show patience during the adjustment period.
