Story
Meet Cocoon Age: 2 years Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Brown Weight: 16 kg (35 lbs) Height: 49 cm (shoulder height)   Rescue Story   Cocoon was rescued from a small mountain village where he had been confined in a raised wire cage, kept for meat purposes along with two other dogs. A kind individual began secretly taking care of them. Around Boknal (the traditional summer days associated with dog meat consumption), the two other dogs disappeared. Determined to save the remaining dog, a report for abuse was filed, and after significant confrontation with the owner, Cocoon was finally rescued in October 2025.   He is now experiencing life outside of a cage for the very first time.   ‍‍‍ Social with People   Cocoon is affectionate and friendly, not only with familiar people but also with strangers. He happily approaches for pets and leans his body in for affection.   He currently lives with children under 13 and does very well with them.   When his people return home, he can get overly excited and may jump up enthusiastically — younger children could accidentally get knocked over during these moments. With structure and training, this can continue to improve.   He allows being picked up (arms under his belly) and will show his tummy once he feels comfortable.   Social with Other Dogs   Cocoon is generally friendly and curious with other dogs. He approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to greet and initiate play, especially those similar in size or larger than him.   If another dog challenges him, he may respond, so careful introductions are important at first.   With dogs he knows well — especially confident “big brother” types — he can be submissive and even roll over to show his belly.   On walks, he wants to greet every dog he sees. His enthusiasm can be overwhelming for shy dogs, and if another dog reacts defensively, Cocoon may stand his ground rather than back away.   Cats   Cocoon has not been formally tested with cats. However, he does show interest in birds and small movements outdoors and may try to lunge toward them. While manageable on leash, he appears to have some prey drive. A cat-experienced home would be safest.   Energy Level   Having lived confined for much of his life, Cocoon is now discovering the world with curiosity and excitement. He is highly interested in everything happening around him.   Previously, he would become very excited when seeing other dogs during walks, but he is gradually becoming more stable and regulated.   With sufficient outdoor activity and enrichment, he settles nicely at home.   Walking   Cocoon can pull on leash, especially at the beginning of walks due to excitement and curiosity. After about 30 minutes, his energy noticeably decreases and he walks more calmly.   With consistent daily walks and routine, he continues to improve.   He enjoys sniffing much more than fast walking — expect lots of stop-and-go sniff breaks.   Other Behaviors   • Does not guard food from humans • May growl if another dog approaches while eating • Accepts treats politely when sitting side-by-side • Can be vocal when playing with other dogs • Calm in a kennel • Jumps in and out of the car independently • Primarily eliminates outdoors • Marks frequently during walks   Ideal Home   Cocoon would thrive in an active home that can provide: Consistent structure and leadership Proper dog introductions Continued leash and impulse control training Plenty of outdoor enrichment   He is a resilient, affectionate survivor who is learning what it means to be safe and loved.   After everything he has endured, Cocoon deserves a home where he will never be confined again — only cherished. Story
Name: Crystal Age: 8 months old (Estimated DOB: March 13) Sex: Spayed Female (S. Female) Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Brown Weight: 19 kg Height: 55 cm   Rescue Story: Crystal was born at a city shelter after her mom was admitted.   Personality & Socialization   ‍‍ With People   Crystal is incredibly affectionate. She happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people, rubbing her body against them and allowing gentle touches with ease. She fully accepts children under 13 and currently lives in a home with kids.   She’s comfortable being lifted (even with arms placed under her belly), and she warms up instantly to people of all ages and genders. She even shows her belly to strangers and lets people she meets on walks pet her tummy — she is that sweet and trusting!   With Other Dogs   Crystal has a friendly and social nature with dogs of all sizes. She confidently approaches new dogs, politely says hi, and invites them to play. She currently lives with an adult dog much bigger than her and gets along beautifully.   If another dog shows aggression, Crystal simply walks away — she avoids conflict and chooses peace.   With Cats   No direct observation yet, but cat testing can be arranged.   Energy Level   Crystal has a medium energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities, exploring, and playtime, but after that she settles quietly and rests well. Adequate outdoor time makes her happiest.   ‍ Walks   She gets very excited on walks and tends to pull due to curiosity, but she loves people and usually follows well. With consistent practice, she’ll become an excellent walking partner.   Resource Guarding   None observed. She does not guard food against humans or other dogs.   Separation / Home Behavior   Crystal has not been left completely alone — she has always been with another dog when humans were away. Her current separation anxiety is mild, but she may develop anxiety if expected to stay alone, so gradual training is recommended.   She only barks when she wants something, and she whines a bit when placed in a kennel/crate, but usually settles or falls asleep shortly after.   She is currently outdoor potty trained.   Crystal Is Looking for Her Forever Family   Crystal is a sweet, gentle, loving girl with a heart full of affection for people and dogs alike. She’d thrive in a home that can provide: Consistent outdoor time Patient training for solo time A family who loves cuddles and belly rubs Possibly another friendly dog (optional but helpful)   If you’re looking for a warm, social, and gentle Jindo mix puppy, Crystal might be your perfect match. Story
Meet Pearl – Your Future Best Friend! Name: Pearl Age: About 4 months Sex: Female Spayed: Not yet Breed: Jindo mix Color: Brown Current Weight: 10.2kg Rescue Story Pearl was born in a city shelter after her mother was brought in. Thankfully, mom and puppies were rescued together and are now looking for loving homes. ‍‍‍ With People Pearl is affectionate and friendly—not only with familiar faces but also with strangers. She currently lives with a child under 13 and does very well. She may be a bit shy in new places at first, but she warms up quickly, especially with treats. She’s comfortable being picked up (you can place your arm under her belly) and even shows her belly to people she’s just met. With Other Dogs Pearl is currently in foster care without other dogs, so her direct socialization with dogs is limited. However, her siblings are all very sociable with other dogs, so we expect Pearl will also get along well with canine friends. With Cats She hasn’t been tested with cats yet, but we can arrange a cat test if needed. Energy Level Pearl is relatively calm. When people are home, she’ll entertain herself quietly with her toys. As a puppy, she can get a bit mischievous if left alone for too long, chewing on things out of boredom. Lots of chew toys will help! A walk or outdoor play helps her settle down nicely at home. Walks & Leash Behavior Pearl can pull on the leash and tends to stop and sniff frequently—she’s more into exploring scents than speed-walking! She’s fine walking in quiet areas but still gets nervous around heavy traffic or noisy roads. Other Notes She shows no signs of food aggression toward humans or dogs. When left alone, she might cry or whimper at first but eventually settles and falls asleep. She rarely barks and is not yet comfortable getting into a car—she prefers being carried in. She’s currently trained to go potty both indoors on pads and outside. Pearl is looking for a family who can give her patience, structure, and lots of love. If you’re ready to welcome this sweet soul into your home, don’t wait—apply to adopt Pearl today! https://adoptmekr.org/adoption-application/ Currently in Korea, available for adoption in / You can also check out her post on our Facebook Link to Post or Instagram Link to Post! ##2452305##

Story
Gamdol | 2 Years Old | Neutered Male | Mixed Breed Weight: 22.2 kg Coat: Black   Rescue StoryGamdol was rescued in June 2025 from a rural area, where he had been kept tied outside and was at risk of being slaughtered. He has since been given a second chance and is now looking for a patient and understanding home.   ‍ Social with PeopleGamdol is naturally cautious around new people and will need time to build trust. It typically takes about 3–4 weeks for him to fully warm up to someone. He tends to be more comfortable with women, while he is often fearful of men and may try to avoid them, especially during walks. He has not been tested with children under 13. Once he feels safe, he forms a strong bond and becomes loyal and devoted. He is not overly expressive with affection, but his quiet, shy way of showing love is incredibly endearing. He can be picked up without issue.   Social with DogsGamdol is generally friendly with dogs of similar size, and he often prefers female dogs. However, he may react if another dog provokes him, so careful introductions are important—especially with unfamiliar dogs. He can be selective with male dogs, though he has shown the ability to coexist and even play with certain dogs over time. He has also been observed interacting gently with puppies.   With CatsGamdol has a strong prey drive toward cats. On walks, he becomes very excited and will attempt to chase them. A cat-free home is required.   ‍ Energy & WalksGamdol has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor time and settles well after activity. He prefers sniffing over structured walking, often stopping and exploring scents along the way. He walks better in quiet areas, but can be fearful in busy environments with heavy traffic. There may be some leash pulling, likely due to limited walking experience, but he has shown that he can follow well with guidance.   Personality & Habits Quiet and rarely barks Primarily outdoor potty (prefers outdoor elimination) Gets motion sickness on longer car rides (over 1 hour) Thoughtful, cautious, and observant Protective tendencies once he feels a place is “his home” Gamdol is not a dog who opens up quickly—but once he trusts you, he becomes deeply loyal. He has a gentle, almost shy personality, and his subtle expressions of affection are incredibly sweet and genuine. Despite his cautious nature, he shows curiosity about the world and can be wonderfully kind and playful with dogs he feels comfortable with.   Ideal HomeGamdol would do best in: A patient, experienced home A quiet environment with minimal traffic and stimulation A cat-free household A home that understands he will need time (several weeks) to adjust He is a special boy who needs someone willing to see past his initial fear and give him the time he deserves. In return, he will offer a deep, loyal bond unlike any other. Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook page and Instagram!
