Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. He is an exceptionally loyal, loving companion who bonds closely with his people. Smart and eager to please, he knows his basic commands and has excellent house manners. He does not chew and is respectful in the home. He is in great health, up-to-date on all vaccines, and professionally groomed regularly (records available). He loves fetch, toys, walks, swimming, and is active when engaged, but settles well in calm environments. With adults and visitors, including strangers, he is friendly and accepting. He would do best in a home without small children, as he struggles with patience and trust around little humans. This is the primary reason for our rehoming decision. He can be anxious and may bark when he has visual access to outside activity. He gets along well with most dogs and regularly interacts positively with both small and large breeds, though rare territorial incidents have occurred, so thoughtful introductions are important.
