Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
Meet Joy! Introducing Joy, a resilient 4-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix who has shown incredible strength and love despite a rough start. Pulled from a shelter and malnourished, Joy is now thriving and sharing her gentle heart with her three black “Christmas” pups. Now that her puppies have found their families, it’s her turn to be someone’s baby! Loving Once She TrustsJoy can be a little shy at first, but with a patient, loving, and consistent home, she blossoms into a loyal velcro dog who loves being close to her people. She’s potty and leash trained, knows a few commands, and enjoys walks, yard time, and playing outside—but also loves winding down with belly rubs and cuddles. She enjoys her own space but can get along with other dogs when introduced properly. Mama and Adventure LoverJoy is a caring, devoted mama and a sweet companion who enjoys life and adventures. She’s great with children, loves car rides, and would do well in a calm, patient home where she can feel secure and get the outdoor time she needs. Healthy and ReadyJoy is regaining full health after her rough start and is ready for a forever home where she can continue to thrive. She’s curious, smart, and gaining confidence every day. Ready for a Patient, Loving HomeJoy is looking for a family who can give her the time and trust she needs to feel secure. Her gentle, loving nature, once earned, makes her a truly special companion for a family or someone who wants a devoted, affectionate dog. If Joy’s story touches your heart, come meet her! She’s ready to bring love, care, and joy to her forever home ##2607582##

Story
🐾 Meet Bruce — Our Loving 6-Year-Old Pup Who Needs a New Home 🐾 It breaks our hearts to rehome our sweet boy, Bruce, but my medically complex, highly allergic mom is moving in, and we’ve been trying to find the right home for months. ✨ About Bruce: 6 years old, about 80 lbs (mostly muscle — medium height, big heart!) Medium energy — loves walks and fetch but also enjoys long naps. Crate trained, house trained, and great with kids (ages 6–19) (grew alongside the 6yo!) Lives peacefully with cats and has previously lived with another dog who sadly passed away. Loyal, affectionate, and makes a wonderful guard dog. 💚 What He Loves: Playing fetch in the yard/house, chewing his bones, cuddling next to you on the couch, and relaxing in his own bed when it’s time to wind down. He goes on two ¾-mile walks daily and would thrive with a fenced yard or space to run. 🧺 Comes With: Large crate, beds, food, food container, and bowl — everything he needs to settle right in!

Story
My name is Primrose, but my friends call me Prim. 🌸I’m a 5-year-old Lab-Ret with a true Southern gal heart. I love all the classics: toys, hugs, sunny-day walks, plenty of attention, and most importantly unconditional love. If you’re looking for a dog who adores her people, that’s me! I grew up in a loving home with a young child, so I’m wonderful with both big and small humans. I’m a fully trained indoor/house dog and know my manners—I understand commands like sit and stay. My mom says I’m a great listener. I walk well on a leash, though I can always improve. I was lucky enough to grow up with a fenced backyard, and had lots of leash-free freedom. I’ve been attending doggy daycare since I was a pup, and do great around other dogs. I’m friendly, social, and well-adjusted. A very important part of my heart is reserved for my brother, PJ. He’s an 8-year-old Lab-Ret, and we’ve been together our whole lives. We’re a bonded and would love nothing more than to be adopted together.
