Story
Luna is 6, about 40 lbs, and was adopted as a puppy. She is affectionate, loyal & loves to cuddle. She has great energy and bounds thru the house. She loves to jump off our boat and swim. She obeys well to commands - sit, wait, back, leave it, and even does fun tricks. She will leave a treat on her nose or head until you tell her she can take it. She has fun chasing our cat, and they have fun playing together. While Luna is a loving and energetic dog , the one thing we have struggled with is her territorial nature. She is wonderful and obedient within our home; however, she does not handle people or dogs approaching the house or walking past. Other dogs are her biggest trigger. And, unfortunately, we live in a corner house with nonstop activity around. While rehoming Luna is the last thing we want to do, we need to find her a better environment where she has less stimulation directly outside her home. Her ideal would be a fenced yard where she can run carefree.

Story
Meet Chuck! He’s a young pup on the hunt for a wonderful forever family! Chuck is looking for a new home that is committed to providing love and guidance so he can grow up to be a wonderful, well-behaved dog. Chuck loves to play with toys and give kisses. He would love to go to reward based training classes so he can spend time with his new family while working on puppy biting, house training, crate training, playing, and how to be the best puppy he can! Chuck is expected to be a large dog, so please take that into consideration when adopting. If you're ready for a lifelong commitment, please fill out an application and someone from CCRC will be in touch We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   June 22, 2024, 9:16 am

Story
Make sure to let us know you saw Coal on Adopt-a-pet. Coal is a recent owner surrender that we are already in love with! This pup went from being an indoor dog to a chain tie out due to the owner's health decline. The sweetness seen in his eyes, he just wants to be part of a family again. Coal has lived with other dogs, with proper introduction he may do well with new friends. Unknown cat behavior, we only say no small children due to his age and tolerance.
