Hey… they call me Big Papas 😎🐾 I’m a 35 pound black Lab mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Don’t let the “Big” fool you though, I’m actually a compact little nugget. The name just fits my energy. I didn’t have the easiest start. I came into the shelter really hurt. I had a deep gash under my front leg, my back leg wasn’t working right, I’d been shot with a BB gun, and I even have a mark on my side that looks like someone branded me. After just three days, I was placed on the euthanasia list because of how rough my condition was. On paper, I guess I didn’t look like a good bet. But you would never know any of that if you met me. I am the happiest boy in the whole world. I bounce. I wiggle. I try to play with every dog I see 🐕 I love my dog friends and just want to be part of whatever fun is happening. Even with two sore legs, I still show up with joy every single day. I’m also a huge people guy. I love being by your side. I’ll lay in a cozy dog bed in the living room and just watch you, making sure everything’s good. The second you stand up, I pop up too like, “Oh hey! What are we doing? Can I come? Also… can I have some pets?” 🥹 Sometimes I’ll even gently place my one good front paw in your hand so you can hold it. I just like to stay connected. I walk nicely on a leash, I love a good bone or toy, ride well in a car, and am honestly a simple dude. Give me love, a comfy bed, and some friends and I’m the happiest 35 pounds you’ve ever seen. I’m going to be completely fixed up and feeling so much better before I’m ready for adoption. My body needs some healing, but my heart is already solid gold ❤️ Everyone says I'm an angel boy… but really I’m just a squishy, sweet, resilient guy who’s ready for a soft, safe forever home. Love, Big Papas 🐾✨

Meet Axel! 🐾 Axel is an adult Lab–Cattle Dog mix with the biggest, most adorable ears you’ve ever seen! This handsome guy is sweet, friendly, and full of personality. He’s an outgoing boy who enjoys being around people and is always ready to be part of the action. Axel is smart and eager to learn. He already knows sit, heel (on leash), stay, and come very well, and he’s currently working on commands like leave it and look. He’s food-motivated and attentive, which makes training both fun and rewarding. He listens well and thrives with guidance and structure. Axel is house-trained and crate-trained, making him a great addition to a home ready for an active companion. He has a good energy level and would love a family who enjoys walks, playtime, and continuing his training. While he’s affectionate and loyal, he’s not a fan of being carried and prefers to keep all four paws on the ground. With his intelligence, friendly nature, and striking ears, Axel will make a wonderful family pet and a devoted best friend. The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs if you already have a dog. Hi future best friend, My name is Vince 💙 I’m about 2 years old, 64 pounds of handsome Lab/GSP mix perfection, and I’m currently living in Houston, TX but I’m very ready to relocate straight onto your couch 🛋️ First things first, I am not a Rottweiler, I know I’m shocked too 🤯 Do not worry, I still give off that strong, handsome, loyal energy. I’m actually a Nottweiler, which means nothing, I come with all the devotion and heart melting stares, I am just as goofy and I’m still a snuggly package 📦 I used to roam the Houston streets, but I’ve officially retired from my “independent era.” Turns out I absolutely love the indoor life 🏡I slept through the night on my very first evening inside like the polite gentleman I am 💤 I’m fully house trained, I’ve had zero accidents, and I treat the house with total respect. Rugs are friends, not bathrooms.🚽 My absolute favorite thing in the world is being near my people 💙 If you sit down, I will be there! If you move rooms, I will escort you. If you’re feeling sad, I will lean on you dramatically until you don’t have a choice but to feel better. I’ve been told I have a soulful stare that makes humans melt, and my little couch snore is apparently the cutest thing ever 😴 I take my nap game very seriously. I walk beautifully on leash and don’t pull, though I will admit that squirrels are extremely suspicious and deserve my full attention 🐿️ I’m crate trained and do great overnight or when left alone, but between us, I’d much rather be cuddled up next to you. I don’t chew things I shouldn’t, I don’t get into mischief, and I truly don’t ask for much beyond food, love, and some outdoor time ☀️ I’m still figuring out other dogs. I might whine a little when I see them, but it’s more of a what’s happening and should we be friends? Type situation than anything else. Slow, thoughtful introductions will help me feel confident. I do prefer female dogs over male! I haven’t been tested with cats or kids yet, but I’m a gentle, affectionate guy with a soft heart. ❤️ I’m sweet, I’m calm and I’m deeply loving 🥰 I’m the kind of dog who just wants to do life right by your side. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will adore you endlessly and happily share your couch forever, I’m your Nottweiler. Adopt me. I promise your lap will never be empty again. 💙
