Story
How cute is Kira? She is a recent graduate from our prison training program and knows all her basic commands. She can sit, down, heel, stay, leave it, come and place. Her handler has only good things to say about her: Kira can be a little shy at first but once she gets to know you she is a very faithful companion. She is playful and loves to run and play fetch. She loves to lay around and cuddle, play outside, rarely barks and loves bath time. Kira is currently located at Grafton Reintegration Center. If you would like to make an appointment to meet her, please text her consultant, Laura: 330-441-0813

Story
RooRoo is an amazing boy who just graduated from our prison training program. He loves to play with other dogs and when he's done showing off the obedience commands he knows, he's sure to make you laugh with his silly antics. Roo is nervous in new situations so he will need a family with some patience that will give him time and space to settle in his own pace. We think he would do well in a home with another friendly dog. His hander at Grafton Reintegration Center wrote a little bio for him: RooRoo is my name and I'm almost 2 years old. I'm good with other dogs and I know how to sit, down, stay, come, leave it, heel and place. I listen to my people, love attention, I'm potty trained and also enjoy bath-time. RooRoo is currently located at Grafton, if you would like to set up an appointment to meet him please text his consultant, Laura: 330-441-0813

Story
Gator is in our Prison Training Program location, so to meet her, please contact her consultant Laura at 330-441-0813 Gator is our very lovable, playful girl that is ready to find her forever home. Gator is a recent graduate of our Prison Training Program where she learned her basic commands of sit, heel, touch, down, stay, place, come and finish. Gator loves to play with other dogs and would enjoy having a playmate to wrestle around with. Gator is higher energy, so would benefit from an active family. Gator is crate trained and housebroken. She has never known the love of a family in a home, so she will need time to settle in and realize she's found her forever. Gator's handler wrote this bio about her: "I am a lab mix and love to play ball and with other dogs. I had a rough start to life, but now I know all my commands. I am looking for my forever home to spend my life with you."

Story
Hello there! My name is Eden, and I'm an 8-month-old Retriever, Black Labrador/Mixed Breed looking for my forever home. I must say, I'm quite the lovebug and enjoy being showered with affection. During my time at the shelter, I couldn't contain my excitement when someone sat in the chair nearby. I wanted nothing more than to crawl up and cuddle with them. Sometimes, I even jumped a little out of pure joy! When it was time to say goodbye, I admit I shed a few tears in the pen. I couldn't help but feel a bit sad, but I guess that's because I'm just so eager to find a loving family of my own. However, I perked up instantly when I saw someone approaching the door. I couldn't wait to see if it was my future companion! One day, I had the pleasure of enjoying a pup cup and some delicious strawberries. Let me tell you, I devoured both with my tail wagging furiously. I have so much energy and it really shows when I'm excited. Afterward, as I stood there, I tried my best to keep an eye on the volunteer as she interacted with the other dogs. I patiently sat, thinking that maybe, just maybe, she would come back for more fun with me. Enrichment time is the best! I absolutely love frozen fruits and lick mats. They keep me occupied and happy. They are definitely something I look forward to during my time here at the shelter. Also, I've been told that a harness may benefit me when going for walks? I'm still learning proper leash manners, but with a little guidance, I'm sure I'll become a pro in no time. I am still a pup and with a little practice I know I could be the best! In the play pen outside, I had an absolute blast playing with a ball. I enjoyed being "chased" and had no problem coming close enough for some well-deserved petting. I'm always up for a game and will gladly provide you with endless entertainment. If you're looking for a loving and affectionate companion, I believe I could be the perfect match for you. I have so much love to give and can't wait to find my forever family. Will you be the one to give me a warm and loving home? Let's embark on this wonderful journey together! Please note that some information may be subject to change as I continue to grow and develop. If you have any other dogs in your home, it is required that I meet them before you can adopt me! I hope that soon you and I can become best of friends and I can find a home to call my forever!

Story
Senior dogs hold a special place in my heart.  Meet Sotoki.  Sotoki is Japanese for “temple.”  Sotoki is a 10-year-old male lab/shepherd mix that weighs 97 pounds.  This boy came to us as an owner surrender through no fault of his own.  His coat is black but looks brown in the sun.  Sotoki is gentle, friendly, and a easy-going fellow.  Do not let his age fool you either.  He may be 10 years old but he is known to be quite the escape artist.  For that reason, we will be requiring a physically fenced in yard for him.  The previous owner reports that Sotoki is housetrained.  When left alone in the home, Sotoki proved to be a wonderful respectful dog and caused no destruction.  He knows the commands of sit, paw, and down.  He is a great car traveling companion.  He has a low energy level and is able to do stairs.  He is not a fan of water or loud noises such as thunder and fireworks.  Sotoki would be perfect in just about any household with older children.  He was raised with another dog. Please remember that all resident canines must meet Sotoki to ensure everyone gets along.  Cat compatibility is completely unknown.  Sotoki is available for our foster to adopt program which means you can foster him in your home until he has completed all his vetting which includes heartworm testing, vaccines, and a microchip.  Sotoki is already neutered. If you are interested in adding this handsome good boy to your family, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org to set up an appointment.   Sotoki’s adoption fee is $85. Sotoki is a wonderful example of a loyal senior companion looking for a soft bed to lay his head on.  A comfy bed and love are all he really needs.        Like Parma Animal Shelter on FACEBOOK and help pass the word about our adoptable guests!  Don't forget to share pictures with your friends!  Follow us on Twitter https://twitter.com/ParmaAnimalShel   Submit an application to adopt on our website parmashelter.org           May 29, 2023, 5:36 am
