Story
Katie is currently looking for a forever home for her golden years. Katie's owner passed and had nowhere to go. She is currently in a foster home, learning to live, love and trust again. She has done amazing in her foster home. Katie needs structure in her life as she sometimes can have accidents in the home if you don't catch her "outside" cue's. She loves to play! She's not much of a toy play dog but would rather play with her people and get loving!  Katie sleeps through the night and does not have any existing medical needs. She would do best as an only dog but seems to do better with smaller, respectable dogs. She has not been cat tested but judging on her reaction to small wildlife, we think cats would be a no. Older kids would suit her best as well.  She walks great on a leash and doesn't need a crate when left alone (as long as you don't leave food out as she will try to counter surf to the best of her abilities and usually succeeds!) Katie's hearing is not the best but her vision is still good! She may do well in an apartment but would definitely need to be a first floor apartment ONLY.September 5, 2024, 6:19 am

Story
Name: Myrtle, Weight: 65-70lbs, Age 7-8yrs (exact age unknown. I had her for about 6 years), Breed: 50%black-lab 25%husky 25% great-pyreness (via wisdom-panel dna test) The good: Very friendly, playful, and loves snuggling on the couch. House-trained, knows some basic commands. Sassy, with a lot of personality. Doesn't chew things up or dig up the yard. Walks well on a leash. Why I'm rehoming her: She is a well-intentioned but clumsy bulldozer, which can make her a hazard around small pets and young children. My wife and I have two smaller dogs. One is elderly and the other has bad knees and these little guys get knocked over/bumped around a lot. We have a one-year old that is just learning to walk and our second child is due in November. She's never been aggressive towards the baby just rough and careless. I love this dog and it breaks my heart but I have to find another home for Myrtle, with someone who can give her the love and attention that she needs.

Doctors estimated he was born around May 30, 2019. He was found roaming the streets of Garfield Heights, OH. He is a loving, playful, and highly energetic doggie! He is crate and potty trained. He was already neutered when we adopted him and he is microchipped. He is our only pet and has never been around cats. He has been around dogs because we sometimes board him at Barks & Recreation in Macedonia, OH when we go out of town. He seems to do pretty good there. He loves to play! Boe received his yearly vaccines on July 6, 2024.Boe loves car rides!September 5, 2024, 6:19 am

Meet Taylor! Taylor is a recent graduate of our training program and is ready to find her forever home! This beautiful, strong girl has learned an impressive list of commands, including sit, down, come, stay, heel, leave-it, and place. She's also fully potty trained and crate trained. Talk about a star student! Taylor is a social butterfly who loves everyone she meets, both people and pups. She made a few doggie friends during her training, but to ensure a good fit, a meet and greet will be required if you already have other dogs at home. Taylor's looking for a family that will continue her training and give her all the love she deserves. Could that be you? Here is what Taylor's handler at GRC had to say about her "Taylor is a strong willed girl. She is a good dog and she is alert on everything. Taylor gets along with other dogs, but would be best in a home with a male dog as she can be picky with her female dog friends. Taylor loves cuddling next to you and sleeping with you in your bed. She loves chewing on bones and playing fetch with the ball. You can have two balls, throw one, have her fetch it and bring it back and she will drop it and wait for you to throw the other one. She loves that game! She likes chasing birds also, so be prepared if she sees one! She thinks they are really fun. "

Meet Beethoven, despite his past of being tied up for years outside, he is nothing but a delightful pup with a heart full of love and a temperament that's hard to resist. He's mastered the command "sit" and is always eager to show off his good manners. Beethoven thrives on attention and is happiest when he's cuddled up next to you, soaking up all the pets and affection you have to give. His friendly nature makes him a joy to be around, and his attentiveness ensures he's always in tune with his surroundings and your needs. Whether you're relaxing on the couch or enjoying a peaceful stroll, Beethoven is right by your side, ready to be your loyal companion. Given his social nature, Beethoven had proven to love other dogs. However, a meet and greet with all other dogs in your home is required before Beethoven can be adopted. This step is crucial to make sure he blends seamlessly into your family, bringing harmony and happiness to everyone under your roof. Beethoven is not just a dog; he's a devoted friend waiting to make your house a home.

Story
Hello, my name is Duke. I moved to Ohio from New York to live with my foster family. My family was very sorry to let me go because I am a good boy. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen life circumstances they could not keep me. My foster family takes good care of me. I live with 6 other dogs and 6 kids that I love to play with! I am good with all sizes of dogs, but my foster parents say I need to learn my boundaries better. I don’t take the hint very well when my furry friends say they have had enough. I am a big cuddle bug and love sleeping with people if I am allowed. Mom and Dad say I don’t understand how big and strong I am, so I am sorry if I accidentally knock my kids down or hurt someone jumping into their lap. I love to chew so chew toys are a must. My old Mom said my old Dad was very mean to me, so sometimes I cower when I it seems like I am in trouble and could be hit. I am very afraid of corrective collars, please don’t put one on me. If I bark, it is because I need attention, or I see or hear something outside. I don’t bark unnecessarily. My foster parents say I need more training. I know sit and come but I don’t always listen. I am very food motivated so that is a benefit for training. I currently eat my lunch and dinner in my crate because I have foster siblings that don't like to share food and my foster parents don't want anyone to get in a fight. My Mom gets up at 6 in the morning for work, so I am used to going out in the morning at 6:30 and then being in my crate until 5. I do well in my crate, but my favorite time is when they come home, and I can be out to run the yard and play with my family and friends. I eat 1.5 cups of food 2x a day and I always have water in my crate when my parents are gone. I am a really good boy with lots of energy and love to share. Please consider giving me my furever home!
