Miller is a loving 7-year-old chocolate lab with a heart as big as his soft brown eyes. He has been adored for the past six years and is truly the definition of a loyal companion. Miller is fully house-trained, gentle, and happiest when he can curl up beside you. Miller does have separation anxiety, so he needs a family who is home often and can give him the reassurance he needs. He takes daily Prozac, which helps him feel calmer and more secure. He also has chronic ear infections, so a family willing to keep up with his ear care will help him live his best, most comfortable life. With a toddler now in the home, his sensitive ears have become a concern for everyone so his current family is making the heartbreaking decision to find him a home better suited to his needs. Miller would shine in a low-stress environment without young children, with someone patient, loving, and comfortable providing ongoing vet care.

Story
Dexter was originally adopted from us 4 years ago. Due to a change in the adopter's job and finances, they had to unfortunately return Dexter. Since his adoption, Dexter's owner reported a history of seizures, though the frequency and most recent date is unclear. He has not had a seizure since coming back to us, but he is being monitored and it is something for a future adopter to be very mindful of. Dexter will need bloodwork rechecked in early December, but that can be scheduled with us to do at the shelter at no cost. Dexter has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has tested neg. for heartworm which is included in the adoption fee. If you would like to adopt this dog, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays)

Sophie found herself at the local dog pound and was rescued from there. She has lots of energy and needs a fenced in yard. an experienced dog home would be best for her. Small children would not work for her since she is so energetic. Big kids would be better

Dobby found himself homeless as a puppy and he had to be trapped with a humane trap since he did no really trust people. Can you blame him? He got tossed out probably for being a normal puppy. Anyway, Dobby has since recovered nicely, is a very sweet boy and he now loves people. He does need to be obedience trained, so a first time dog owner is not recommended. He is under 2 years old and really deserves to be in a home. A shelter is not a place for Dobby. Please consider adding Dobby to your home. Meet Sable! 🐾 Sable, a young Lab mix, is a very well-mannered boy with a gentle, loving personality. He enjoys pets, never turns down a good cuddle session, and is always happy to work for his favorite treats. He’s ready to settle into a home where he can share all the love he has to give. The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs if you already have a dog.
