Story
Katie is currently looking for a forever home for her golden years. Katie's owner passed and had nowhere to go. She is currently in a foster home, learning to live, love and trust again. She has done amazing in her foster home. Katie needs structure in her life as she sometimes can have accidents in the home if you don't catch her "outside" cue's. She loves to play! She's not much of a toy play dog but would rather play with her people and get loving!  Katie sleeps through the night and does not have any existing medical needs. She would do best as an only dog but seems to do better with smaller, respectable dogs. She has not been cat tested but judging on her reaction to small wildlife, we think cats would be a no. Older kids would suit her best as well.  She walks great on a leash and doesn't need a crate when left alone (as long as you don't leave food out as she will try to counter surf to the best of her abilities and usually succeeds!) Katie's hearing is not the best but her vision is still good! She may do well in an apartment but would definitely need to be a first floor apartment ONLY.July 21, 2024, 6:03 pm

Story
Say hello to Renegade! This distinguished gentleman is a silver fox, at least in his face! This sweet black lab mix is a friendly, goofy boy that would love nothing more than to be your trusting companion and rest his head on your lap from time to time. Renegade's favorite past time you ask? Well he'd be happy laying upside down on the couch cuddled next to his favorite people watching whatever his humans want on TV. While we don't know his entire history, Renegade went through some trying times recently, and we've observed that many everyday activities in the outside world seem foreign and frightening to him. Walking on a leash is one of these activities. Although Renegade is getting much more comfortable walking on a leash, in new environments his nervousness gets the best of hm. Therefore; it is preferred that his forever home have a fenced in yard. Renegade is nervous around new people, but quickly warms up with a wagging tail, especially when you have a treat to offer, which he will take very gently. He is also house- and crate trained, so bringing him home and adjusting to your daily routine will be a breeze. Renegade is dog-friendly but doesn't seem interested in playing around much anymore. He would prefer to play and cuddle with his human friends. He could do well with another dog to follow their lead and gain more confidence but he'd be just fine on his own too. Will you give this handsome fellow the retirement years he deserves? If interested, please contact his consultant, Rachael, at 440-773-0270.

Story
Hello, my name is Duke. I moved to Ohio from New York to live with my foster family. My family was very sorry to let me go because I am a good boy. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen life circumstances they could not keep me. My foster family takes good care of me. I live with 6 other dogs and 6 kids that I love to play with! I am good with all sizes of dogs, but my foster parents say I need to learn my boundaries better. I don’t take the hint very well when my furry friends say they have had enough. I am a big cuddle bug and love sleeping with people if I am allowed. Mom and Dad say I don’t understand how big and strong I am, so I am sorry if I accidentally knock my kids down or hurt someone jumping into their lap. I love to chew so chew toys are a must. My old Mom said my old Dad was very mean to me, so sometimes I cower when I it seems like I am in trouble and could be hit. I am very afraid of corrective collars, please don’t put one on me. If I bark, it is because I need attention, or I see or hear something outside. I don’t bark unnecessarily. My foster parents say I need more training. I know sit and come but I don’t always listen. I am very food motivated so that is a benefit for training. I currently eat my lunch and dinner in my crate because I have foster siblings that don't like to share food and my foster parents don't want anyone to get in a fight. My Mom gets up at 6 in the morning for work, so I am used to going out in the morning at 6:30 and then being in my crate until 5. I do well in my crate, but my favorite time is when they come home, and I can be out to run the yard and play with my family and friends. I eat 1.5 cups of food 2x a day and I always have water in my crate when my parents are gone. I am a really good boy with lots of energy and love to share. Please consider giving me my furever home!

Story
Harmony is fully trained, very very loving, and wondrful with kids. She did have an issue with one other dog in our household which resulted in an issue where they'd fight when separated and then brought back together again. Got along wonderfully until the incident at around 2.5 years old when the other dog growled at a pup and she got protective. As a result, we've spent years keeping them separated completely which has been hard. She's wonderful w people and loves kids / babies (endearing with kids) . Although she gets along with other dogs and puppies, I'm not 100 percent sure she always would / will so I recommend her being the only dog. She does not growl or go after other dogs at vets although not sure she'd be ok with hanging out with other dogs or strange dogs. I believe something could retrigger her. She thought she was protecting a baby puppy from her bestie (they'd been together for 2.5 years) before this incident unfortunately I didnt trust them again together.

Story
Lily is incredibly intelligent, and in being such, is very much a handful. She will literally speak up if she has anything to say, or at least she tries to. She is very loving, and thinks she's a baby sometimes, and that she is small enough to be a lap dog. But she's not, she grew very large very quick. We've worked with her on basic things, and when worked with she catches on quick to most things. The downside? She needs training with cats and being out and about. We tried walking trails with her several times, but we're not professionals and this behavior is a bit too much for us to handle. Also, very important that unless you're willing to put in the work, don't adopt Lily if you've got cats. Inside and out she is extremely reactive towards them. We've had her for a year and have been unable to remedy this issue. Our three senior cats have taken up hiding during the day, and it's causing major stress on them. Other than that, no food aggression or any other major issues.
